It was cold in the room where the breakfast was served. The breakfast was not complete (lack of bread, and we had to wait for the eggs)
there was one particular girl on reception who was very nice and friendly. also there was a heater in the room. which after a couple of bangs with a book heated my room really well -needed in the month of november!
ahhh...where do i start. When i got there ( on my own) i was greeted by about 6 men leaning against the reception desk chatting with their friend. I told the guy on reception i had a booking and he said my room would not be ready for half hour and i could leave my bag downstairs. I at least expected a baggage room with some kind of lock. it was just a seated area. I waited and finally got my room which was extremely dirty. I was so frightened of the lack of cleanliness (and i have stayed in some dodgy hostels in my time) that i slept outside the covers of the bed my entire trip. i did not have any spare money to book in somewhere else but i would have if i did,
Excellent location very near Paddington Station. Excellent price.
Staff rather sullen. Not very attentive to guests.
There was an individual gas heater inside the room, so I could choose myself the room temperature anytime
Bathroom was so tiny I could barely fit; shower was broken; there was no place to hang clothes; room was so small; no space around bedroom, no lift to get to 4th floor... very poor hotel I do not recommend it
The bathroom was newly done up and was much better than I expected
I did not like the fact that the hotel consisted of two buildings at all, especially because the second one, in which I stayed, had a completely unguarded entrance. The entrance was a door between two restaurants. Guests are given the key and as a consequence, the door was open all night. this entrance door gives direct acces to the corridor on which all rooms open! The corridor consists of several flights of very steep steps. I very much doubt that the arrangement complies with health and safety rules in the UK. In case of fire, there is no way that guests can get out of their rooms.
- Room very unsecure (lock on door and windows did not work) - Staff (especially hotel manager) rude and unhelpful - Asked for double room and got room for 5 people - No way of adjusting room temperature - People walking up and down firestairs outside room window all night - Lift not operating properly - Taps in bathroom not working properly - TV not operating properly
24/7 checkin, pc provided in lobby... Dirt cheap price
* Toilet smelled horrible. * Noise from outside kept me awake most of the night! Do NOT use this hotel if you have to get up for anything important!
The blonde girl who worken on the bar was lovely, really friendly.
The other staff were a bit misrable and I didn't feel very safe in the room because the lock was not very secure.
location, comfort of beds, courteous helpful staff, sharing breakfast with multicultral guests, family atmosphere
no bath plug ! but can understand reasons why.
Good location, not too expensive although I reckon it was a bit more towards a two star hotel than a three star as claimed. Otherwise, OK. It's not exactly the Ritz but then you don't have to pay the same price for a room as the Ritz.
A mini-bar would have been nice but at least you get tea and coffee in your room.
