The hotel is located in a very pleasant area, just a few minutes walk from Pimlico and Victoria stations. The room itself and the bathroom were rather small but fairly clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a decent storage place with quite a few coat hangers. It's absolutely enough if you only need basic facilities and spend most of your time outside. London is expensive and at Carlton you will get what you pay for. Small room with bare necessities in a fantastic location. Keep your expectations low and all will be well. The width of the large bed is more than 160cm, it is wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable, relatively quiet, in a nice safe neighborhood, and very convenient for Victoria train and coach stations. Also easy to walk or bus to the River Embankment and central London. I recommend it. Clean and comfortable friendly and helpful staff.
The bathroom was very small. Breakfast was poorly facilitated. Stains in shower curtain. No lift! If you have heavy luggage, it will be difficult. Room was very small, but I realize space is a premium in London. Wifi ~ 5 pounds entire stay. Very small room with no cooking facilities and refrigerator. Bed wasn't comfy really but that's standard at this price. Duvet was paper thin. If it had been cold I would have been in trouble but luckily it was very mild for December. The room was cold, the bedding was inadequate, the extra blanket was not clean and the shower room was not very clean. I paid extra £5 for wifi and it didn't work. Climbing stairs to 4th floor - but great view! Shower water flooded the toilet area - didn't drain well. Front of building and reception area a bit tatty but I don't expect luxury for the price. The room was small with no space for luggage and there was no storage room downstairs. We had to pay £5 for poor Wifi service. Very old facilities. Very hot with no aircon or fan. constant smell of sewage from bathroom, slept with bathroom fan on and windows open. Staff could do nothing about it apart form give us a can of air freshener. The iphone was left on the bed, under the pillow, but the hotel reception said that they didn't get any left iphone when we came back to that hotel on the day after next day. The shower. No lift for the luggage and our room is almost on the rooftop. Wi-fi could be free.
