Good price and convenient to Metairie and the North Shore...I'd recommend for a business stay. Cool hotel bar. For leisure there are better places, closer to New Orleans.
It's the small things that make or break this hotel. The room was nice and comfy enough but our room service breakfast menu had clearly been written in by the previous guest. The carpets in the halls are coming up--we tripped a few times. My 'favorite' part of the stay was when I checked in and the Front Desk Agent asked if we were familiar with the area. When I told her that we were from Metairie and were just 'hanging out' for the weekend she made a face and said, "Hm. Well some of us just aren't able." Not my fault she's bitter about working at a front desk.
Comfortable bed, clean room, decent concierge lounge, restaurant service was quick and pleasant.
Front desk was busy so even though I mobile checked-in, I had to wait . I also asked about UPS shipping and the early morning group couldn't help me. I had to wait for the day time crew. The room seemed worn and like it needs updating. The coffee shop on the main floor (part of the hotel) was out of soy milk all three days I stayed at the hotel. Very disappointing.
The facility is fine. Reasonably new and at one time would have been considered upscale.
The staff was by far the worst. Dishes remained in the hall from other rooms. They never serviced the room for overnight and when I went to talk to the cleaning staff they did not speak English. People in general were grumpy. It was a weekend and I do not generally travel on weekends. So maybe they just don't like working weekends.
The people who work there were so rude to the customers. Cleaning service was so bad. I asked them to clean our room when i was out for touring, but when i came back, they PRETENDED like they cleaned the room but saw dirty stuff everywhere and, very rude to the customers. I would not recommend the hotel for whoever wants to go to New Orleans.
No sound insulation whatsoever. Noisiest room I have ever stayed in. No amenities, not a bottle of water or a cup of coffee in the lobby at these prices? Ridiculous. We were put in a handicapped accessible room without being told. So we had the tub with hand held shower and a single sink etc. just an overall cheap experience. Not up to Marriott hotel standards.
Staff was really welcoming, complimentary parking was a plus!! Complimentary breakfast AND lunch!!
The hotel decor was awesome. You got a luxury feel, for non luxury price!!
The hotel was out of King rooms. And since our room was either king or double, we were stuck with a double. My wife and I just pushed the beds together. We made the best out of the situation!!
The room was clean and comfortable.
We checked in at 4pm and 1 of our room was not ready. The staff informed she can get us another room but it will not have a double bed. We did not want to wait 1-2 hours so we agreed. Not once through that whole conversation did we get an apology for the inconvinience. The staff informed us the room was paid through booking.com and requested a credit card for incidentals. However, the card was charged at the end of the stay and a different staff informed us booking.com did not charged us initially. We had to get the payment switched to the card we initially thought was charged on booking.com Also, we had to get a pass every single day to use the fitness and pool.
