Walls are somewhat thin- woke up a couple of times from loud groups coming back from the bars at 3am
friendly and helpful
Good location Solid building Errtrance lobby nice although no furniture Fairly nice staff roon good size A/c worked nicely
rooms were pitiful Furniture looked as bad as 50 years they had almost no drawers Looked old, felt old Pillows very hard only had one type of pillow hard the room looked old smeld bad noise coming from the outside No furniture in the lobby
The hotel has a grand lobby, very nice. The room wasn't spectacular but it was adaquate for my needs. No complaints. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful. I was directed to Cajun Mikes a local pub for a take out po boy & a freshly made Hurricane. A cab was called for me when I checked out, no problems no delay. it's not in the French Quarter but it was no problem to walk over to Cafe du Monde for breakfast. I was a solo traveler for leisure.
All was good.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Our original room smelled moldy and did not seem very clean and they switched us out without a fuss. The new room smelled fresher, but the housekeeping standards were a little low overall. Nice comfortable bedding and the air conditioning worked great. The curtains kept the room very dark -- excellent for sleeping. Location was great.
Could have been cleaner -- vents were dirty and dusty. The rugs looked like they could have used a deep clean. The lobby was incredibly underwhelming -- mismatched furniture and poorly arranged -- not a place to hang out -- just a cavernous room with hostel-like feel. Not what I expected for a Wyndham.
The location was convenient to Bourbon Street, French Quarters, the Dome, etc. There is also a Walgreen's and a CVS Pharmacy within the block. The appearance from walking in the front doors was enchanting and magnificent! I never encountered a rude staff member....everyone was nice and helpful. The cleanliness of my room was impressive! I will be going back to New Orleans and know I will book my room at the Wyndham!
We had requested through KAYAK a handicapped room, when we arrived we were told we had a King room but it was not handicapped. Staff immediately found another room. It was a Suite at no additional charge. A bath chair was immediately brought to the room for the shower. Staff was always willing to help with storing a scooter we had rented when we departed and would not be using it. Their suggestions of places to go and eat were exceptional. It made the whole trip. On Friday evening, several guests began yelling "Roll Tide" out in the halls and staff were quickly on the scene to quite the guests behavior. Overall, facilities were great but staff made the visit.
Great spot right on the edge of French quarter within walking distance. Very nice hotel but our room did not smell fresh. They didn't clean the room every day but if we would have asked for them to do so the staff was very helpful. The guys helped us with our bags and called us cabs. Location was key for us and this was perfect. There was a group of 4 of us girls and this was a good hotel to stay at.
The giant foyer amplifies noise.
Clean and comfortable
There was horrible construction that made it difficult to access the hotel (not at all their fault). The issue is that when I called the hotel to ask how we could even get there through the construction they had no idea. I was transferred multiple times and told to just "turn down common", and when I tried to explain that I had already tried this and there was a cop blocking off the street for the construction they started talking to me like I was a moron. They told me "we know that, he is letting people through so you need to try again". I circled back around and tried to see if the cop knew anything. Anyone could see the entire road was fenced off and clearly there was zero way to get though. The cop just started screaming at me that the hotel should know what to do ( joys of Nola I guess) and I called the hotel back once again to try and figure out how to get there. They basically had no idea and transferred me four times just to stop talking to me. Finally my brother had to get out of the car and walk around himself to find us a way there. I tried to express my frustration to the front desk and it fell on completely deaf ears. Your job is to get people to your hotel, and not a single person knew how to do that. Obviously other people had checked in that day and they got there somehow so clearly it wasn't impossible. The entire ordeal was extremely stressful ( Saturday traffic in Nola), and really put a damper on our stay there. Then at check out they attempted to charge my card for the room. I explained I had already paid for the room, and once again they treated me like a moron and said "no you didn't they just put the card on hold" and they charged my card anyways. I was pretty much pissed at this point, and I was showing them my emailed receipt and credit card charge. A manager came out and said no you haven't paid the card was just on hold, and after showing them again that I had actually paid ( not a single person even looked at my account btw, they just assumed I was wrong and kept telling me so) they finally looked up my account and saw that I had indeed paid. They gave me a refund for the double charge, but were snippy about it. No apology just oh okay I guess ill refund it. I literally will never stay here again. It's a shame because it was a nice hotel in a decent location.
Great location, very close to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, and walking distance to Harrah's. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
