it's just 2 blocks from subway and express lines 2 and 3 took me to downtown in 10 minutes
they didn't have toilet paper in one of the floor restrooms. It's kind of expensive for what the offer but it's NY so I guess I can't expect more
That is was in a nice neighborhood.
Shared bathroom with our floor. There were cockroaches in our room. The bathroom was not well maintained.
I liked the people the best. This hotel is def. one star.. very old building with old stuff in it.. but for the price.. it def. was worth it. I liked how it was right off of Broadway and had some great stores within walking distance. Metro was close too
No air conditioning until you get to your room. Going in July is very very hot and humid, so that was a little uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small too, but that's because it's a very old building.
Location, no doubt, less than 2 minutes from the subway station where express and local trains both stop, from where you can go anywhere. The maid there is very nice, though she can speak no English...
The building is old, really very old. By the way, no air-conditioning, so it is ok in March, but I do not want try here again in summer. Not a bad hotel, but also definitely not a perfect hotel. The people there are nice and helpful. But because of the building condition, there exists time when they can do nothing, after all, you get what you pay.
The location, a block from the 96th Street Subway Station, is the hotel/hostel's best feature.
This place has seen better days. What I disliked is that so many things weren't working: cable TV in the small lounge (my room had no television), the WiFi, the ATM in the lounge. This is a hotel/hostel that seems to be favored by budget travellers. The rooms are tiny. (I mistakingly booked a room for two, which translated into a room with bunk beds, where I had to hang my clothes from the top of the second bunk.) The staff tries to be accommodating, but they also seem resolved to the fact that stuff may or may not work, like was the case with the cable, WiFi. If one is going to spend the majority of one's time outside the hotel/hostel, and use it only for sleeping, it's bound to be okay. But it's definitely a 'you get what you pay for' kind of place, and there may be some things that aren't functioning during your stay.
The location was very convenient. Subway around the corner. Parking garage right next door.
The hotel itself is a little shabby but our room had recently been renovated so that was not an issue.Plenty of restaurants in the area and the location itself is very convenient.I thought the staff were friendly and the cost very reasonable for a hotel in NY. I would definitely stay again, if I could get the same room.
