Proximity to airport. Shuttle service to and from airport.
1st- Decent breakfast 2nd- Could not hear the airplanes even though we where right next to the airport. 3rd- After having an issue with the first morning having the lobby and breakfast area completely blocked by a school group, they moved them to a conference room are for the next 2 days to resolve it. 4th- Had plenty of power outlets around the desk. 5th- The free wifi internet was not slow, making it unnecessary to purchase the $9.99 a day "upgraded high speed" pass.
After reading reviews for all the hotels in the area and seeing mixed reviews for all,I decided to to try each hotel for a few nights to see which was the best. Facing a 2-3 month stay in the area, I was going to be able to try a few. This was my second hotel after Holiday Inn Newark, so here is what I got. 1st- No bottled water in the room, maybe this is just a Northern US thing, because most major hotels in the Southern US and West coast have 1 or 2 free bottled waters in the room. 2nd- Had to pay $15+tax a day for parking even though when reviewing the description of the hotel it said there was a "Surcharge" for extended parking, it did't show the fees for parking until after booking even though it showed it as an amenity. I mean, I didn't have to pay for the pool, business center, gym, or elevator use, and they were all listed as amenities without noting a surcharge. 3rd- There was a smell to the room I couldn't place. It was a light smoke and minor mold smell. I got used to it after being the room for a few hours but every time I left and came back, there it was. 4th- Fridge was the smallest fridge you could possible find, like 1.2 ft2.
Staff was great convenient location
I loved the comfort, cleanliness and everything overall I will be returning soon.
The room is larger then I expected.
Price was reasonable
1. No restaurant 2. Very hard for Uber or Lyft drivers to find the hotel - it is hidden in a maze of freeways behind the Courtyard and Fairfield inn. very odd geographic location 3
I was impressed with the cleanliness and service at this Hotel. I have stayed at a few hotels around the Newark Airport such as the Rennassaince and the Marriott full service and I would srecommend this one over both and the price was right.
The only advice I would give is that this place was very busy the people behind the counter were courteous, friendly and very effeciant but could have used more help to be able to spend more time giving guests information about restaurants, shuttle service etc.
Terrible Shuttle Service...had to call 5 times and it took over an hour to finally get a shuttle ride.
Large rooms, proximity to airport , pool for the kids
Shuttle service to EWR every half hour, hotel felt very new and modern, staff was very helpful
Around EWR is a maze so this was further from airport than expected
Staff was friendly and courteous . Good value. Place was real clean
A few intoxicated people in cars in parking lot. I felt safe but maybe more security. People were trying to go out the in gate.
Location, staff, rooms were very good. The breakfast was also very good. I did have to walk down the street to another hotel for dinner.
Nice space in the room. The fridge in the room was a very nice plus. As was the microwave, though that wasn't used. The shower pressure was excellent as was the service from the staff. There is a gauntlet of potholes to get to the actual hotel, and getting to the hotel from Elizabeth was a bit of a tour with many jug handles and potholes, but for that area, that is par for the course.
Slow internet. 2Mbps for free is still terrible. Dim bathroom lighting. Thermostat repeatedly reverted back to air conditioning and it was 33º outside at the time. There was an air freshener smell in the room I didn't particularly care for. Many potholes along the drive to the actual hotel once you exit from 1 & 9.
Everything I expect from a Marriott- unsurpassed service and amenities for the price.
Location looks great on a map...but I have never experienced a stranger means of access. It is on a one-way street adjacent to multiple highway/interstate interchanges and I saw no signage directing me where to turn in order to arrive on site. It was confusing even with GPS.
I was throughly disappointed in this hotel because kayak robbed me i was double charged for a room and it took over a week to recieve my money back after getting the run Around from kayak and orbitz i had to go through my bank And Many other channels to try and retify this companies mistake ill never do business with kayak orbitz or springhill Marriott again
clean comfortABLE. close to nyc.
