The location is perfect if you like The Village. Everything you need is all just a few steps away. A nice dining patio was just outside our door. Good food and a nice bar upstairs.

The lobby was quaint and kept very clean. We really liked the coffee it was delicious! The maintenance man was very friendly and always said hi to us and greeted my kids. The upkeep of the resort was impecable. Very friendly staff. Private beach.

Didn't like that there was a main st. dividing the resort to get to lobby. Didn't like not knowing you had to leave a $100 deposit for "incidentals". Didn't like the dark spots on the roof of the shower / ceiling.

I liked the cabin atmosphere & that it was really close to the water & big bear village.

The fact that they have no idea of what's legal to ask of a person with a service dog was enough to never want to come back to this place. They have no idea of ADA regulations, California law regarding service dogs, & penal code 365. They asked to see an ID card for my dog which is not required for a service dog let alone paperwork. Luckily for me the project I got my service dog provides paperwork from the projects lawyer stating my dog is a service dog. Not only that but California law states the dog isn't required to wear a vest. With that said I got harassed about my service dog in the hotels dinning area & bar. The staff were so rude & kept harassing me for his "ID" card which I kept telling them there is no such thing required & anyone can make a "ID" card for a pet dog. They also got the manager involved & kept harassing me. This happened on two different occasions & we're only there for two days. Finally the project where I got my service dog had to send them a letter letting them know of my rights & that I could sue for further harassment. We refused to use any of the hotels amenities after the second harassment. I wouldn't advice anyone with a real service dog who knows the law to stay at this place. Not to mention the room was not worth the price we paid! I would have stayed somewhere else if I knew the economy room was so small you could barely move in it. Also only 2 lights worked in the whole hotel room, the bathroom lights. The outlets didn't work either so my husband & I had to unplug already working things just so we could charge our phones. Not worth $150 a night! Maybe $80 a night because Comfort Inn cost that much & is way better quality than the Northwoods Resort! The restaurant & bar minus the harassment, was horrible! The service was unorganized & you'd think with the place being so dead that service would be better. It however wasn't. Most of our interactions with the wait staff was them harassing us for my service dog & then forgetting we were there dining or getting a drink. The "bartender" didn't even know how to make my drink I ordered off their own specialty martini menu! I've never been so disappointed in something that calls itself a "resort" when it's just a crappy outdated hotel that has no resort qualities like a day spa etc. They claim to have a spa but what they mean is a hot tub outside.

Loved the layout of the cottages, Friendly staff, upon entering the room I noticed how clean it was, the tub was bigger than I thought and the jets were a nice touch, bed was comfortable, I really loved the layout of the room and how the room had little homey touches my boyfriend loved the room just as much as I did I definitely plan on staying again.

Great location. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. The room was clean and decorated nicely with little cute woodsy stuff. Room was a generous size and came with a microwave a mini fridge, coffee maker.

Beds were ok, not Hilton comfy but fine for the money. Other than that no complaints. I'd stay here again.

Location good for the village.

It needs an upgrade and paint. Bed and bathroom were clean but everything else felt and looked dirty. No screens on the windows, broken lampshades, dirt and inch thick on ceiling fan, table in room ready to fall over. Broken toilet seat, and when we complained they sent someone over to tighten it they did not repair it.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
