It's just hard to believe in 2010 that they charge 5 € per hour for the Internet connexion! I know most hotels do in the Netherlands, but they must have missed a step. It's free (or let's say included) in most countries and hotels and just part of the hotels facilities. It's not anymore optional, we need to stay connected.
The hotel is excellently located near a small lake ("ven"), which is overlooked by its frontside terrace. One can easily spend a very relaxing afternoon just sitting here watching the occassional passerby. Hotel rooms are standard; furniture is bland and has little character. Good breakfast with excellent coffee.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant, but unless you take a fixed price menu it is too expensive for what they offer. Waiting staff at the restaurant is not very good in dealing with complaints. I ordered a cheese plate, which included only four very small pieces of cheese, one of which was parmesan (!) hardly suitable for a tasting. When I mentioned that this was not a very generous offering the waiter said that they sold out the previous night and were not restocked. He did not apologize and charged the full amount for the dessert.
Its location, clean spacious rooms with good bathroom.
Staff was very friendly, but a bit slow on service.
Superb service of an unusual level for the Netherlands. The place is clearly not a chain run in a wonderful way and setting.
Just a splendid experience
Superbly located and superior service by the staff. In that area between Einhoven and Tilburg the best staying option I have found in 25 years.
quiet place, but close to centre. Feeling of being in nature. Fresh air could be let in by windows.
Quite old-fashioned. Elevator was uncomfortable. No parking place for guests returning home, because there was a wedding party as well.
The staff were very pleasant & helpful. There was no rush on finsihing breakfast before 1030 and the range of choice was very good. The highlight of our stay was the dinner in the dining room. Excellant menu and winelist and really great food and service. The cheese board was a marvellous suprise.
proximity to town and nature as well as the history of the hotel
sometimes it was hard to find staff (e.g., front desk)
We made use of a very good winter deal and almost felt like we didn't pay enough for the excellence provided, but each member of staff certainly treated us as real customers. The food was extremely good too!
