The hotel manager gave me a kitchenette room with a weekly rate plus one day that averaged out to be XXX a day. This was actually cheaper than the Priceline cost that I paid for the first three days.
The parking lot was small and you had to get there early to get a spot in the lot instead of the street. The manager was accommodating and willing to move your car off the street on the mornings that the streets are scheduled to be swept. The hotel was what I expected. They just updated the cable to have more movie channels the day before I left. The internet worked fine when it wasn't overloaded but you had to have a code from the desk that was good for 72 hours. This is a hassle for guests staying longer than 3 days. I got an iron when I asked for one but there was not ironing board. The stay was comfortable and the managers were caring and friendly.
Friendly hotel manager, proximity to the beach, newly renovated rooms, very affordable rates.
Parking spaces are limited, but additional parking is available on the street, and I only had to park on the street the first of three nights. The Seaside Motel is a very pleasant place for a one star motel. We mainly used it as an overnight stay while helping our daughter to move out of her apartment in L.A. and wanting a place closer to the beach to stay at night. The place felt safe, we enjoyed the cool ocean breezes, and our timining worked out because we reserved a single room but got in quite late and the manager gave us a suite. It was just renovated so it had fresh paint, new wood molding/trim, a refrigerator and microwave, and nice tile on the bathroom walls and floor. There were several quick sources of food and drink within walking (Starbucks, Burger King, Denny's). If you are looking for high end, this is not it, but if you want a simple, clean...
Beautiful new bathroom, room had new paint & crown molding.
Old TV, old scratched furniture, old small towels. Motel in process of remodeling, should close a few rooms as they go.Exceptionally nice owners, overall an average to less than expected Experience.
The price was undoubtedly the primary reason we chose this motel, location was second. It turned out that it was very easy to get to from Hermosa Beach which is where we were spending our days.
We weren't happy about the parking situation but luckily was able to park on the street right in front of the motel - got back late at night and didn't want to walk too far to get to our room. While the room was clean, we were disappointed that it did not h ave cups or glasses although there was an ice bucket. A couple of bottles of complimentary water would have been nice. The parking situation isn't the greatest but we were able to park on the street in front so we didn't have to walk along Artesia late at night. The manager was very nice and helpful and was proud of the fact that they are renovating all the rooms and the rates for next year will remain the same - what a deal! Our only hope is that with these renovations and price-freeze, there will b...
The staff was great! Upgraded us for no cost.
If anything it was right on a very busy street.Noisy with the windows open.Older place charm but remodeled rooms. We'd definitely stay here again.
