Great location Super friendly staff
Too noisy at night due to busy street traffic
The location. Otherwise quite a dump.
Checked in, went to the room, pulled open the curtains and they fell to the floor.
Clean hotel - Surprised to hear planes outside because we did not hear them inside.A great stay !
nothing was bad
Friendly staff, location was perfect- right in the middle of union square
VERY small room- room was next to garbage bins for restaurants that were dumped in the middle of the night, lots of noise for hours during the night with the outside noise
Room was always well cleaned and it was quiet enough at night, despite some noise from the street. They provided a decent crib for my kiddo.
The windows were the kind that push out and I had a toddler with me. I was worried that the toddler could push his way out and had to keep them locked so the room was stuffy.
Location and price can't be beat for Union Square. We also got the top floor overlooking Geary Street and it had a nice view.
Bathroom was TINY, the elevator took forever (as in 15 minute wait for a hotel with 7 floors), smelled musty, and there was no lobby to speak of.
Price was great. Room was clean, and mattress was very comfortable. Our courtyard, back room was blissfully quiet.
Room was a little funky, but totally adequate. At twice the price, you get standarized no-funk.
Great location, near Union Square and across from the American Conservatory Theater.
No parking. Front desk has to unlock the front door after hours. Room configuration is odd. Sink is in the actual room, not in the bathroom.
Great location! Room is small, but as expected.
Wifi speed is super slow, almost non-useable...No shampoo, shower gel, or conditioner, so you need to prepare by yourself.
I liked the location and the staff was very friendly.
The building was kind of old and the elevator seemed to have a mind of it's own. There was no air conditioning but the windows on the top floor (in my room) opened.
Location. It was close to the theater.
No one answered when I tried to call the desk. Very tiny pieces of soap at the bath. Noisy. Minimal amenities (a tv). Holes in the drapes. Really a bit seedy.
This may be the worst hotel experience I've ever had. My room faced an alley where numerous businesses had their trash and recycling. Every night, I awoke several times to the sound of glass crashing into one of the bins. Loud trucks seemed to come and go at odd hours as well. The room had a radiator that would not stop putting out heat. I had to open the window to cool the room off, because there was no air or temperature control at all in the room. However, the window had no screen, and it opened onto the very loud alley. During the day, the housekeeping staff would close the window, leaving the room to heat up further. I burnt my finger trying to get the radiator to close. When I asked a staff member for help, he rolled his eyes at me and said the radiator would never fully close. The bed did not have a proper fitted sheet at the bottom-- only an extra top sheet that was not big enough to tuck underneath the mattress. So, I would often wake up with the top of the mattress fully exposed-- VERY unsanitary. The wifi that the hotel advertised was too slow to be functional. Most of the time, I could not even open my email, let alone do things like send an attachment. I did not expect this hotel to be particularly nice, and was willing to give up many amenities for its convenient location. It wasn't worth it. Don't be tempted!
There was no AC or ventilation. It was stuffy and unusually warm in San Francisco that day making the problem even worse. But it was one of the cheapest hotels in that area and we needed it only for one night.
Definitely its location.
LINEN--The bedding was awful--flat sheet on very slick mattress surface would not stay put any of four nights. No wash cloths provided. No AC--Had operationalWINDOWS but no screens and only a few feet to another wing that's windows were straight across
