No surprise charges, excellent service.
Everything met our expectations.
The hotel overall is very nice, but the service was truly outstanding! The wait staff, the drivers, the cleaners, the spa help...all exceptional! Kudos to them all! Also, I had excellent water pressure in my shower, which is a big deal for me.
The hotel is quite a ways from Santa Fe, which can be nice, but difficult at the same time. However, they do offer shuttle service to and from Santa Fe, so that makes you feel more connected.
Well sized rooms, w/a table for two so we could both set up computers, two lounge chairs to sit by the fireplace, w/a table between, generous closet and coffee bar area w/refrigerator & plates was great. Materials are luxe, zen, yet natural to suit area
We love this resort and were familiar with it before booking. You MUST watchbthensunset from the bar.
The resort is in the mountains and was very beautiful and relaxing. I was expecting more for the amount of money I paid. The room was nice but the housekeeping was inconsistent and although the tub was inviting, the drain was broken and not much use. We went to the restaurant for Valentine's Day. The waitor was nothing short of disrepectful and rude. The tab for two people was over $*. The food was delicious but the service made us feel not at all good about the experience.
The hotel was beautiful, the setting was inspiring but what made us want to take the time to write this review was the unbelievably high level of service. From the moment we arrived, we felt as our every need, our every whim was anticipated and satisfied. Whatever they are doing at Auberge to recruit and train their staff is a business model that every hotel should follow. Jody set us up with just the right dining and activities, hiking, shopping, The Shed is amazing Hans planned our hike at Bandelier and helped us pack a picnic lunch. Cat led me in one of the most enlightening and relaxing yoga sessions I've ever had insisting on picking my mat afterwards but the best was Doug. Doug drove us all over Sante Fe in a Mercedes SUV so we got to know him because he was so warm, friendly and helpful. On our last day, we happened to be incredibly unorganized. I think we felt so comfortable that it was as if we were leaving our stuff like bread crumbs around the resort like Hansel and Gretel. My husband left our shampoo in our room. Doug happily offered to retrieve it for us. Brought it to us as we were eating lunch in a a gift bag. And, I realized halfway to the airport I'd left my phone in the spa. I can't tell you how crucial my phone is to running my business and my family of 5. We called and the people in the spa were having trouble locating it. We called Doug. He went into the spa, found it and fed exed to us. Thank you, Doug. My husband and I have traveled extensively and really value our hotel experience. The Encantado is one of the best we've had
Stay Summary: Encantado, Santa Fe Final comments: If you are a traveler that spends most of your time off resort property, then the Encantado property should be considered as a great choice. If you are a traveler that expects this property to be in sync with the other Aubreige properties, RELAIS & CHÂTEAUX, Ritz Carltons, then I would check out the Inn of the Anasazi, in Santa Fe, or the El Monte Sagrado Living Resort. I would give Encantado a year to mature. Other notes: Outside pool was closed for the summer. Spa steam room was being repaired and retiled. Spa is not staffed up for out of season, so give well over a 48 hour window for your needs. Nice decor, but usually over looking a road or parking lot. Very motelish feeling vs. resort.
