This is an excellent place to stay. The valet parking is nice but quite expensive. A complimentary breakfast would have made the stay perfect. The location is perfect. The Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade are within walking distance.
I couldn't understand why you'd put the coffee pot so that you had to plug it in over the sink faucet, dangerous don't you think?
This was an awesome hotel, espically when you have 4 kids like me! i would go to this hotel again and so would my husband. It had many great futures that other hotels dont have. Also, I found it rather cheap for all its great qualities! Staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. I will come again!!(:
Close enough to walk to the beach, yet gave us the space we needed for family of 5.
Initially worried that I might have chosen unwisely but after first 5 mins those fears were forgotten. Front Desk Staff worked really hard to assist us in getting the best deal for day use of our room on last day. Reservations Manager personally took over booking and we received an excellent rate. Concierge was very helpful with bus and airport limousine information. Property had a good laundry in central location. Would definitely stay again.
This Doubletree is conveniently located a few blocks far from the beach, but, we really didn't need to be near the beach as it turns out because most of the time we were elsewhere with family and friends. It was an OK stay, nothing to write home about. The pool was pretty nice; upstairs on a balcony. Place was pretty pricey for its looks and service, but everywhere in Santa Monica was pricey, if not priceier. Room was non-descript beige, beige, beige with brown... boring bordering on depressing! We had a separate sitting room which was nice to have though it was also the yucky old color scheme.
Great view from this Hotel, close to alot of good stuff including the beach. Solid restuant in the hotel. Best part is where it is located
We were only staying in Santa Monica one night but we were hoping to have one night at a nice hotel. The hotel was definitely not worth the money. With parking and taxes it came to $*** for one night. The room was just ok. Not very clean. Stains on the furniture and seemed older and outdated. When we went to use the fitness center, it smelled so bad we couldn't stay in there. And it was further from the pier and shopping than I thought it was too. It was a $7 cab drive to the pier. All in all, it was just ok! Not worth the money.
I stayed at the Doubletree for 2 weeks while having surgery locally. I am from across the country and was looking for a comfortable hotel which would be entertaining for my husband and had good room service for me during my incapacitation. What I found was a beautiful, clean, and friendly hotel which was perfect for our stay. It was a close walk for the beach and the promenade. The staff was helpful and generous with their chocolate chip cookies. The pool and gym were great. I plan on returing there for my next visit. It is worth the price for such a clean and comfortable night's sleep so close to the beach and shopping.
My husband and I had to find last minute accomodations when we needed to stay in Santa Monica an additional day. \n \nThe six (6) Santa Monica hotels that I called stated very snootily that I really need to give them a 2 week notice to reserve a room. They very rarely can accomodate last minute requests such as mine. \n \nWhen I called the Doubletree, expecting the same lukewarm response, I was pleasantly surprised to get the totally opposite reaction from the Reservations dept. They said to, please, come over and they would have our room ready as soon as we could get there. So nice. This is a Hotel, not some glorified motor inn that you pay $*/night for. The lounge is very nice, food is great and the people are extremely friendly. We will be back! \n
We stayed here for a function close by. This hotel rating is a bit misleading. although it was clean it has no character and I felt I was in a upgraded Motel 6. I would not stay there again for the money.
It was really very nice. We enjoyed a great breakfast and pool visit.
We found the hotel to be very attractive and the help was friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are very noisey. We could hear every word the people in the room next to us said. And they were speaking quietly. Then, when the man in the room next door was banging on his door at 1AM I thought someone was trying to break down our door!! Soundproofing is needed!
