In Georgian days, the Eastbury was a private residence. It is now an elegant hotel with a peaceful garden and excellent food, offering free parking. The Eastbury Hotel is located in a quiet area, in the heart of Sherborne, just a 5-minute walk from the Sherborne Abbey and the town's main shopping parade. The hotel staff have a good local knowledge and can advise guests on what to do and see in the area. The rooms have been individually decorated and furnished and all have an en suite bathroom. Each bedroom has luxury bathrobes, satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The award-winning Conservatory Restaurant is a popular place to enjoy the finest, freshest local ingredients. It overlooks the hotel’s beautiful garden and al fresco dining is available on warm evenings. The bar/lounge serves snacks and afternoon tea.
Excellent restaurant & breakfast
Very cold room and thin bedding
My Daughter and I stayed and were made very welcome, not usual fo 2 women on their own! The single rooms were very good, the food delicious.
The dining room was minimuly lit in the evening, could hardly see the food!
The kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff
Being able to see the historic town of Sherborne and visit the Abbey church and the two castles
Service, food and the general atmosphere
Fantastic service and very friendly and helpful staff. Room was immaculate with great facilities. Food in the restaurant exceptional including the most fantastic cooked breakfast. If we ever return to sherborne would most definitely stay again
Thought that £8.50 per night charge for cot excessive and not advised at point of booking only when delivered to room
efficiency and friendliness of staff, beautiful setting. Superb food.
personell atmosphere, surroundings, within easy reach of Sherborne Abbey, Castles
Tha atmophere of a country house, the furnishings were of the period.
As an ex- hotellier I would have liked to seen a few more simple items on the menu. The food was in the main more of on art form than a meal. The filling in the Beef Wellington was too strong for the beef. I ate only once as I was hard pushed on the first night to find anything that appealed. A second night would have been impossible. Other gueasts dining on the first night were found to be eating in the restaurant we chose for the second nights meal. The breakfast were very good. I would question the validity of 2 AA rosettes, (I was an AA inpector for 5 years)
fantastic bathroom great breakfast
noisy heating and extract from kitchen
