Location- was easy to get back and forth to Burlington downtown. However, our room unfortunately had about 20 tiny ants found late into our stay (we were checking out). Fan or whatever cooling/temperature regulating device they have in the room kept turning on/off loud all night. Hot tub at pool lukewarm, but pool area clean and nice. Another guest at the pool (who is staying at the suites long term) informed us it has been a problem for 3 months. Told front desk as we were checking out about all the issues and they just said ok thanks for letting us know.
Had a great stay and visit to the Burlington area. Hotel was easily accessible, clean, comfortable, great service, hot breakfast, and location was close to downtown. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside was there were multiple tractor trailers parked in the side lot that had engines running all night. Noise wasn't overwhelming, but you could definitely hear it. Would stay again without question. Good value.
This hotel was difficult to get to. There was a snow storm and the parking lot was not plowed and the sidewalk was not shoveled. The entrance was so slippery I fell twice. I left something in the room and called to ask if I had left it and didn't receive a return phone call. I had to go out and purchase a new item. Once I called the hotel for a fourth time, to the General Manager, I received a call back and they my items. I was out $35. Not a pleasant experience at all:(
It was alright but a little pricy and out of the way.
Room was clean, shower was very nice. It was over all quiet, but the air conditioner was louder than it should be. Someone ought to start a hotel chain with whisper quiet AC, that would probably interest a lot of people. Breakfast was very good. Location is quite convenient.
I stayed in Burlington, VT with my friend for two days. The area is wonderful, so much too do and the Holiday inn Express is right in the middle of it. The free bfast was a great spread including meats, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, juice, etc. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice and well maintained. We enjoyed a morning swim our first day there. There is a resturaunt on the property but we did not try it although it had good reviews. And the bed was amazing! i didnt want to get up. The only down side was our room was on the same floor as the pool, so the hall ways smelled a little musty/ moldy. And the shower curtain has some mold on the bottom, probably needed to be thrown in the wash but ot a big deal. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again.
More than I'd hoped to pay, but a very nice hotel with a decent breakfast included. One complaint: there was nearby construction, even during the night, that kept one of us awake.
If I had access to a microwave and regrigerator would have made it more pleasant and convienent. Maybe a microwave for use in the downstairs cafeteria.
Is as expected for Holiday inn express-good staff breakfast and location
Crystal and I enjoyed a nice time away and spend together.
i absolutely would recommend this hotel to anyone. not one issue. i did find a part of a pretzel on the floor, but if thats all. i'm happy
Good hotel for the price with nice rooms and breakfast. They had swimming pool which was a hit with my daughter. The staff were courteous. Overall we had a good experience.
We stayed here for three days. Only really slept there and ate breakfast in the morning. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and how updated the hotel was. Many hotels in the Burlington area are a little beat up , this one was in fine condition. We had a quiet room that had two queen beds and a flat screen TV. I would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was better than usual free breakfasts.
First bed had used linen with numerous spots, second room smelled heavily like smoke (in non-smoking facility), third room was almost clean and heavily fabreezed. It took the staff about 45minutes to finally come up with an acceptable room.
We were disappointed with our stay at Holiday Inn Express in South Burlington, VT. The 1st 2 mornings we woke to no hot water for a shower. On both days the staff told us that they were 'resetting' the water heater but by 11am we gave up. Sounds like an excuse for the fact they have too small of a water heater for the number of guests. On the 2nd day I decided I would would instead relax in the hot tub but I found that it too was about 80 degrees. Also, the railing wobbled a lot and I could lift it out of the ground. Further there was black mold in the floor tiles all around the hot tub. Lastly, the breakfast facility was grossly insufficient for the number of guests. On our 1st day we came down to breakfast to find all tables full and dozens of people literally pushing each other to get the last scraps of microwaved eggs and sausage. This was a bit overwhelming of a way to start the day. Despite the obvious insufficiency the staff started clearing the breakfast away at 9:28 so that nothing was available by the 9:30 closing and several people were left in the lurch asking if they could possibly have a carton of milk or banana. Way too expensive considering these gross deficiencies! On the plus side the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the staff was very nice and though most of the breakfast was mediocre at best, the cinnamon rolls were yummy. Also, it is located right next to a restaurant/ bar which was convenient. Being an 'Express', note that there is not a fridge or microwave in the room.
We arrived late evening and went right to bed. In the morning I went to take a shower and found the dirty towel left in the bathroom over the shower curtain rod. I decided to make coffee and put the water into the coffee maker and ants started pouring out of the coffee maker. Next I see ants all over the wall near the bathroom and accross the floor. We decided to leave the room and checkout even though we had 1 1/2 hours to wait for our pickup. When I went to the front desk to check out and told the woman at the desk about our experience, she said, 'Oh, I am sorry. Well, I see you paid online for the room, so you are all checked out now. There is nothing else that I can do.'
Overall the cost of a night's stay was high considering the amenities offered. This hotel was nowhere near the waterfront (which I knew) but considering the cost it should have been somewhere near it. The hotel seems to need a facelift. The room we were in has carpet that is in need of refreshing. The bathroom was old. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. The amount of towels provided was ok. The bed was very uncomfortable. The climate control was inadequate. The tv was ancient and the picture was very poor. I was looking forward to pay per view but it wasn't offered. Although there was HBO the rest of the channel selections were few. We had to stop at the desk at checkout which is not express. I would not stay there again. I was very disappointed, I usually like Holiday Inn Express and have used them quite a lot.
It was the Holiday Inn Express, not the Holiday Inn. I should have used that as a mantra. Room was fine, but the AC unit was incredibly loud. If I hadn't gotten such a deal on the room rate, I would have been vexed. The bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned in a while, or else the room hadn't been booked. There was a pink film in the toilet, and mold on the showerhead. I told one of the housekeeping staff about the showerhead, even bringing him into the room to point it out to him. Got back late that night, and nothing had been cleaned. Very disappointing. If you do stay there, make sure you check your bathroom for cleanliness before you accept the room.
not helpful. went to room and it was ice cold, ac was going full blast. I turned off and turned on heat. we went to the pool/hottube area. Hot tub was not warm. pool was warmer. after 1 and half hours at the pool we went back to the room to find it cold and heater not working. I called the desk she was rude but said she would send some one. They never showed. very little blankets and we were cold all night.
The beds were not remade. There were crumbs and hairs in the bed sheets. Ihad my kids sleep on the top sheet. Breakfast area is too small for volume of guests. Hot tub not hot. Sauna not working. Most disgusting room I ever slept in. So mad at myself that I didn't demand new room.
