The smell of marijuana wafted through the vents the entire night so heavily that we felt like we were smoking it ourselves; you couldn’t open the veranda doors without risking being eaten alive by the mosquitoes at all hours, this was true of the restaurant as well, in all the trips we’ve made to the VI over the past 30 years we’ve never experienced the mosquitoes at this level; the “resort” really needs to consider a more aggressive repellent approach!

Pros:The area was great with super easy access to the beach. Housekeeping was consistent and the bar and grill had good food The front desk staff were nice and beautiful islanders.
Cons:Hot water in my room wasn't all that hot. The bar and grill had long wait times with the food although not many people in the restaurant.

Pros:I liked that the hotel was close to the airport and had everything. It's close to downtown and shopping as well
Cons:The hotel restaurant and bar are a bit over priced and mostly American food. I was also checked into a room that was already occupied but it was quickly resolved.

Pros:The location is not very safe! As I was sitting on my 1st floor balcony a man came up to me after dark wanting me to let him use my cell phone. He had to be told numerous times NO!! He waited on my husband to go in the room before he came over and ask me!! It was very scarybecause it was very dark and not lit well at all! Then when I was checking out that morning the forensic police officers were there to investigate a burglary they had the night of our stay! If you are considering staying at this property I would definitely reconsider! As it did not seem safe at all!
Cons:It was not.a safe area. The cost to stay at this property is s RIP off!

Pros:I enjoyed the overall experience at the Emerald Beach resort but the rooms and the property as a whole needs to be updated. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful and I especially enjoyed the quality inn location of the beach. It's proximity to the airport was a little disappointing but not overbearing. I would definitely stay there again but they had to straighten out the bill for me because the price did not match what I booked on kayak
Cons:The locals on Saint Thomas that inhabit the island are not very friendly in general. I really think they do not like tourists or Caucasian people at all And there were many lovely experiences I had with people there but you know who the locals are and you can tell that they really have a resentment. But as for the staff at the Emerald Beach they were lovely

Pros:Paul welcomed me every morning for breakfast at the restaurant. Smiles all around. Big sand beach that even had a place for a novice snorkelers to see exotic fish without being terrified. Crystal clear water. John set me up with trips and cabs. Even made sure I didn't get taken advantage of. I forgot and left my safe open, with money and potent pain meds, they cleaned my room and to my surprise nothing was stolen. Florentina was the cleaner and I was left feeling secure and safe in my room. I can't say enough about the staff. I really felt at home. Beautiful beaches, sunsets, beach bar parties. Will definitely go back again. I'm not kidding I'm telling everyone I know.

Pros:Loved the beach location and closeness to airport - we walked. Loved the cool tropical gardens and plushness of surroundings despite a drought. Loved the refreshing pool after being on the beach with the waterfall. Setting of restaurant is beautiful. Rooms and beds extremely comfortable and views are spectacular. Staff was very friendly and informative.
Cons:The shower ran out of water while I was in it. The quality of the food was okay but overpriced. Wine was way out of line expense wise.
