Beautifully restored hotel with a pool, live music, and a good restaurant adjacent. What more can one ask?
Wish I had worn long pants and socks while dining on the veranda. Mosquitos feasted on my legs and ankles. (There are mosquito-repellant lights above the tables that kept our arms and faces safe.)We went to Lake County for a wine festival. The festival was just so-so, but the Tallman Hotel made it worth the 3-hr drive. What a pleasant surprise-a beautifully refurbished hotel with all the comforts, great live music on the weekends, good food at the adjacent restaurant, and excellent breakfast with home-made bakery goods. All the personnel were very professional as well as friendly. Upper Lake is not an interesting town, but this is a great place for a quiet retreat.
