The helpful way the staff dealt with the overbooking problem and the quality of the (upgraded) rooms we were allocated on the second night.
Yes. In spite of having received a booking confirmation at the time I booked, the hotel had no record when we arrived. The hotel was fully booked. However, the hotel staff provided us with immediate (complimentary) refreshments and set about trying to find us alternative rooms for the first night. This was in a newly rerfurbished hotel in Valkenburg. Although the rooms were clean, furniture was limited to beds and a single chair only. No TV or even simple wall pictures. One of the rooms did not even have a wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes. This was only acceptable to us since there was nothing else available in Valkenburg on one of their busiest days of the year. I would like an explanation of how this problem could have occured.
Suitable as a base for touring south east Holland or across the border into Germany Picturesque area.
No evening meals available.
It is situated in the centre.
It was rather noisy.
The hotel is very bad. No soap and shampoo in the shower and no track of hair-dryer in the bathroom. The staff is no kind and they have no competences in problem solving.
