FAQs - booking Hawaii flights

  • How can I travel from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) to Honolulu?

To travel from HNL to Honolulu city center, you can hop on a Line 20 Bus, a taxi, or a shuttle. The means you use will be influenced by the amount you’re willing to part with as fare and how quickly you want to get to your preferred destination. If you’d like to travel cheaply, board a bus, while if you’d like to reach your destination quickly, board a taxi. If you’d like to balance speed and cost, settle on a shuttle.

  • Does San Antonio International Airport (SAT) offer baby care facilities?

SAT offers baby car facilities in the form of four family restrooms spread throughout the airport and three lactation rooms equipped with comfortable benches, power outlets, and cleaning sinks. Terminal A is home to two lactation rooms, one Airside and another behind the Information counter next to the restroom. Terminal B hosts the remaining one on its Airside.

  • Which Hawaii airport is closest to Akaka Falls?

Suppose you’re flying into Hawaii to check out Akaka Falls. In that case, book a flight that lands at Hilo International Airport (ITO), given that Akaka Falls is situated no more than 32 km from the airport. If you’d like to cover the distance separating these two points via public transport, you’ll have to settle on a taxi since no buses or shuttles serve the route.

  • Where can I relax at San Antonio International Airport?

While waiting for your flight to Hawaii at SAT, you can relax at the airport’s United Club, provided you pay an entrance fee and proof that you’re travelling with its affiliate airline, United Airlines. This lounge is located on the Airside of Terminal B, sandwiched between gates B3 and B5. Alternatively, you can relax at the airport’s USO Lounge, provided you are an active military officer or an immediate family member of one. It is located on the far right side of the baggage claim area’s Terminal B. At either, you will have access to comfortable seating, various sources of entertainment, snacks, and beverages.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from San Antonio to Hawaii?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from San Antonio to Hawaii.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from San Antonio to Hawaii?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Hawaii from San Antonio is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from San Antonio to Hawaii?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Hawaii with an airline and back to San Antonio with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from San Antonio to Hawaii?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Hawaii from San Antonio up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Hawaii

  • Morning departure is around 11% more expensive than an evening flight, on average*.
  • In San Antonio, you will board your flight to Hawaii at San Antonio International Airport (SAT). Found in Uptown Central San Antonio, this airport is approximately 13 km north of the city’s Downtown area. Currently, it serves flights to Hawaii offered by Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, and United Airlines.
  • In Hawaii, there are various airports you can land at. You will land at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in case you’re visiting Oahu and at Kahului Airport (OGG) if you’re visiting Maui. Alternatively, you will land at Kona International Airport (KOA) if you’re visiting the Big Island and Lihue Airport (LIH) if you’re visiting the Island of Kauai.
  • Suppose you need assistance upon landing at HNL. In that case, head to one of the airport’s 17 information desks spread across the airport. Open daily from 5:00 am to 10:45 pm, these desks are manned by friendly and informed staff.
  • If you want to travel non-stop from SAT to OGG, you must take one of the non-stop flights provided by airlines such as Delta, United, Southwest, and Alaska, as no airline offers direct flights.
  • At LIH, you can easily rent a car since car rental agencies such as Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, and Hertz feature booths across the street from the airport’s baggage claim area.

Delayed due to an ill passenger after loading. Not preventable on Delta's part. Was in first class. The seats are becoming worn and detaching from their velcro attachments. Only got snacks on flight. The attendant was not the friendliest.

Delayed due to an ill passenger after loading. Not preventable on Delta's part. Was in first class. The seats are becoming worn and detaching from their velcro attachments. Only got snacks on flight. The attendant was not the friendliest.

I would fly again the whole experience was great. The only feed back I can give that they don't do that American Airlines does is the crew there is more humorous with boarding and thank their passengers. It makes it more fun to fly with them. I would however fly Delta again.

From Atlanta to Cabo I would have hoped on a plane that size I would have been able to breathe and wiggle my feet a little! The leg room in that plane is non existent and I am only 5”4’. And the air vent either wasn’t working very well or just could not blow air from the ceiling to the seat area as I was suffocating through the entire flight! And please don’t say I would have been more comfortable in first class because I cannot afford those rates and have always travelled Main Cabin without issues !

The pilots were good. Disappointing when planes don't have electrical ports

I liked the piloting of the aircraft. Very disappointed about lack of electrical ports. Also, although a short flight. there was enough time to hand out snacks to comfort + seats as was done for first class.

I had a wonderful experience flying with delta. The gentleman taking care of us on our flight was so nice, accommodating, and attentive. He always was smiling and giving pins to the kids which made me smile. The flight was quick too and without turbulence. Thank you for the great flying experience.

Delta is one of the best airlines I have flown

Made the Atlanta to Pittsburgh trip many times, with Delta no issues

I always fly with Delta. My friends tell me their horror stories of flying with other airlines. I just smile and say, “You should fly Delta”

I'm a larger, athletic guy (6'2", 260lbs powerlifter) and I found the seats incredibly uncomfortable with minimal leg room, especially in a window seat. Now, I full understand that being smaller may change my view but even if I was 80lbs less, my legs would be the same size and I was sandwiched between my seat and the seat in front of me.

Terrible! The plane was old and you are required to connect your own device to their Wi-Fi rather than have entertainment options in the back of the seat in front of you. The Wi-Fi went out during the flight and there was only one plug for the devices every two seats. Three out of five surrounding my family did not work. The seats and spaces under them were so small I could not fit my backpack, which I’ve always brought on flights and fit before no problem. The crew were unpleasant and patronizing.

There was a group of school age passengers that were very loud and unruly with their chaperones were no where to be found.

On time every leg of the journey and exceptional staff at counter, gate, and on board. I haven’t travelled in US for a long time and was genuinely surprised how pleasant this was.

The delays (5 hrs) were a comedy of errors, and the multiple safety issues encountered were very concerning.

Trip was smooth bumpy from the wind but no issues at all the crew attendant was very pleasant and had great customer service

I liked everything about the flight. The service was excellent!

The customer service was excellent! Check-in, baggage check-in, boarding, the flight went very smooth.

Delayed a day due to snow storm. Was upgraded. That kind of made up for significant delays from FLL to COS with no compensation or acknowledgement.

Left 2 hours later for delayed I had to take care a kid with special need since people don’t want to move to accommodate the rest of the family. . It wasn’t bad but that made me upset that people can be that selfish.

The leg space between me and the seat in front of me was excellent.

Flight was cancelled had to move to another gate late again no internet paid for the month and never can use it waste of money

Flight delayed over an over all day until it cancelled at 1:30am. Would not repeatedly delay that late. Offer hotel rooms and rebook early. Very difficult for families with small children

Missed the flight because of them and up geting a rental car

Flight was fine. It took an unusually long time to have baggage delivered to the carousel in ORD.

I arrived to the airport 2 hours before my American Airlines flight was scheduled to take off. I have TSA pre-check. The airport was crazy packed when I arrived. After momentarily standing in the pre-check line, the TSA agent said that I am not pre-check. Of course I said that I am because I entered my KTN number on all my traveling sites and programs. I had to get out of line and go back to the AA counter to discover that American Airlines did not add my KTN to my boarding pass. I had to call TSA to find out my number, then have AA enter it onto my boarding pass. The emblem would not load onto my boarding pass. By this time, I decided to use my Clear in order to get through TSA but the line was ridiculous long. By the time I made through TSA, I missed my 11:08am flight and was re-booked for the 5:30pm. This is after the AA employee told me I should have gotten to the airport early. AA use to be a dependable airline not I use them only if I have too.

Flight from SBP to DFW 1. They rerouted us through PHX 2. Delayed flight out of SBP for 3 hrs so we missed our connection Downgrade on rerouted flight. Back of the plane, center seats, didn't sit together 4. Return flight out of DFW same exact thing. Delayed, missed connection, Downgrade + they lost our luggage! A complete mess.

Do not eat the bagel! Otherwise, good albeit late, breakfast in first. Boarding downgrade only because flight was delayed due to plane change due to undisclosed problem with original aircraft. I did not use entertainment.

Crew were attentive and friendly. Flight was smooth and early! I enjoyed the less crowded plane. Thank you!

Was as expected. Good leg room on planes - much appreciated.

Fight crew was not very attentive and the bastions were gross!

I had no legroom, although I paid for extra legroom. I could barely put my bag in front of my feet and under the seat. The Wi-Fi was horrible. In fact the flight attendant said that they had to reboot it and see if it was going to work and never did.

Terrible as usual!!!! Very unprofessional and rude flight attendants! You get what you pay for! HORRIBLE

The text told me it was changed to Terminal E and Gate D5. But with no one on site to ask questions there was confusion on where to go as all the gates were E's. Then we took the skyline to the D area. We left to get something to eat. No announcement was made but my daughter happened to asked and they told her our gate was moved to D12. I will not fly Spirit again.

Unnecessary announcements through out flight. WiFi on plane is terrible and overpriced

Cancelled my flight last minute and had to end up driving to Texas from Atlanta last minute. I’m going to miss another day of work, drive back to Atlanta , in my own car and spirit doesn’t want to refund the money. First time I tried flying anyone else but delta and I get ripped off . And I had. To pay for seats for a flight that didn’t happen. Usually you could say you get what you pay for but in this case, didn’t get anything and paid for everything never flying spirit again, or even attempting it or thinking about it.

Flight from Tampa to Houston was canceled. SPIRIT rebooked me and they double booked my seat. Conclusion I COULD NOT TRAVEL TO HOUSTON. I MISSED MY GRANDDAUGHTER BIRTHDAY. I would not recommend this company. I will file a complaint. I will never consider SPIRIT as an airline . It’s a faker.

My flight was cancelled and I am stranded in another state

Had to board plan 2x due to lack of security check after 1st boarding

Bad weather is one thing but repeatedly changing gates AND terminals after several hours of delays was horrible. Additionally after the long delays, gate agents were delaying us evening further by being overly picky with personal item bag sizes. Get a grip.

Horrendous. Wish they would have just shot me in the leg instead.

Six hour delay. Poor customer service. No voucher. Bad communication. Missed important appointments.

Our flight was delayed an hour, then when we got to board our flight finally, we were waiting in our seats for take off for 45 minutes before it was communicated that there was a maintenance issue therefore we waited on the plane for over an hour while that was resolved. We did not get to Phoenix until almost 3 hours after we were originally supposed to. This was the first and last time I will be flying Frontier.

Flight was canceled with little warning. Flight was rebooked through Ontario, California and connecting flight was delayed by over three hours. Frontier is living up to their Greyhound of the skies reputation for sure.

I purchased a carry on bag online…was supposed to cost $72 but after a whole slew of bs charges, the total was over $175.00. Because of these hidden charges, I will not even consider flying Frontier ever again. It’s just not worth the hassle. I’m scratching this company off my list forever.

Flight was OK. Seats were good no cell phone charges on the plane no TVs or entertainment.

There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. The whole process is poorly managed.

Flight cancelled and was told by a rude gate agent that they don’t accommodate on other airlines. Had to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight that had a 7 hour layover. Would not allow bags to be checked early so we couldn’t go through security .Had to rent a car for the afternoon to store bags and get a meal. Also incurred a hotel fee. No apology or reason given for the cancellation- just rudeness.

They cancelled the flight then did nothing to help us rebook. It was awful - I won’t fly with them again

The process of buying the ticket and navigating all the hidden charges that Frontier throws at you was a terrible experience. The actual airport experience and flying was fine.

The truck that was refueling the plane drove away with the hose still connected to the plane and ripped part of the plane off with it
