FAQs - booking The Bahamas flights

  • Which airport in The Bahamas is best to fly into?

The Bahamas is made up of numerous islands, so it’s important to choose your arrival airport depending on your travel plans and starting point. Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau serves as the primary hub due to its central location. If you’re heading to the northern islands, Grand Bahama International (FPO) in Freeport is the preferred choice, while Exuma International (GGT) in Georgetown is best suited for exploring the southern region.

  • Are there any nonstop flights from Seattle to The Bahamas?

If you choose to fly into Nassau (NAS), Alaska Airlines offers nonstop flights on select days of the week. However, if these days don't align with your itinerary or you're considering destinations like Freeport (FPO) or Georgetown (GGT), expect a layover. Specifically, American Airlines flights will stop in either Miami (MIA) or Charlotte (CLT), whereas Delta flights will have a layover in Atlanta (ATL).

  • Do I need a visa to fly from Seattle to The Bahamas?

U.S. citizens traveling to the Bahamas for stays of less than 30 days do not require a visa. However, a valid passport is essential, and you must complete an immigration form upon arrival. It's recommended to have your return ticket or proof of onward travel ready to present upon entry. To expedite your return journey to the U.S., the pre-clearance by U.S. Customs enables flights to bypass regular international clearance processes. Lynden Pindling International (NAS) in Nassau is the first airport outside U.S. territory to provide TSA PreCheck.

  • Where should I fly into if I want to visit Pig Beach?

If you're planning a visit to the famous Pig Beach in the Bahamas, it's advisable to fly into Exuma International (GGT) in Georgetown. Located near the Exuma Cays, this airport provides convenient access and a direct path to the popular swimming pigs attraction.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Seattle to The Bahamas?

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Seattle to The Bahamas?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to The Bahamas from Seattle is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Seattle to The Bahamas?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to The Bahamas with an airline and back to Seattle with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Seattle to The Bahamas?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to The Bahamas from Seattle up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Staff being friendly would have help since the flight was delayed, again. Folks answered questions but no one seemed happy to be working today and if showed.

It was a full flight without any issues or stress. Really surprised with how so many flights seem to have issues nowadays.

You guys did great, the only thing keeping me from the higher rating is the physical dimensions of the seats, which staff has no control over. Keep up the good job.

Flight was good. Glad it was delayed or I may have missed the connection since I got to Seattle at about the same time my connection was to leave. The snack was a small bag of pretzels and a small soda. Can’t really call that food. There was no entertainment available on the flight.

Same as the earlier flight. Bad boarding practices, uncomfortable seats, and no Wi-Fi service.

Everything was good. One of the flight attendants was not very friendly

Text and wifi were paywalled. I'm not looking for something fast, but not getting a text for ride coordination until back at the gate was a pain.

It was not a great flight. There was a software update delay which had us on the ground for almost 2 hours. I was unable to make my shuttle to my final destination.

Good. Quiet. Comfortable. The protests nearly kept me from catching my flight. They waited for me! I made it!

Had a broken tray in business class. Crew just shrugged it off.

Everything was great except for the seat. The backrest would not stay in the upright position.

public website still broken for years randomly blocking browsers with privacy options active after loading a page maybe once. check-in on laptop was almost impossible but eventually randomly worked. had to print pass at airport since couldn't get back in to load digital pass on mobile firefox or chrome. red eye flight so smooth onboarding, plenty of room to spread out, easy offboarding. onboard wifi instructions mention vpn can cause problems connecting but fails to also mention private dns. no printed or built in menu list, seems weird to require personal device to point at qr code link for menu which does not even allow direct ordering. people with health condition risk related dietary restrictions trying to avoid for example cholesterol and sugar are left guessing what they can order either way without nutritional info highlights (cranberry juice was minute maid cocktail with as much suger as typical can of soda). tap to pay wasn't working and always seems sketchy to manually enter card info. good movie variety, so limited tv was okay.

Bag drop off was slow and annoying. Only 2 agents at the entire delta desk, and no one directing traffic for what line to be in, many confused people slowed down the process. Boarding was fine. Seats in Delta comfort plus were fine. Snacks were great! Definitely a bonus. The entertainment system was awful — old, slow, not responsive, and completely unable to play games due to some kind of error. But on the other hand, thank you to Delta for the free WiFi. That made it better.

Flight diverted in SD. Later take off in Seattle by 1.3hrs

Mi primera conexión se retrasó por lo cual perdí mi segunda conexión la cual salió adelantada

Crew was not friendly when I went to request a seat change.

There were choices for the snacks. Good choices and tasty lunch and breakfast as well.

The flight crew was amazing. I’m very tall and they moved me to an exit row unsolicited!!! Amazing service.

The boarding process was terrible especially with an indirect flight Chicago to Seattle to San Diego was terrible talking about we overbooked a flight idk if I’d take this airline ever again we got off our flight from Chicago to Seattle and we traveled for business and they told us our connecting flight was over booked and their was no seats asking people to take a delayed next flight and they don’t tell anyone coughing to wear masks seats 30A-B were terrible during the flight no one wants to sit next to people coughing all around I don’t want to be sick traveling for work or get sick anytime it’s very upsetting the staff doesn’t take this stuff serious to tell them to wear masks when they see people coughing and sneezing

Great. Loved that there was WiFi on flight to keep in touch and excellent service of beverages and snacks.

Business class is great. New airplane, very comfortable, better than some of the major airlines I am used to

Terrible. Flight was cancelled due to the weather in the east and sout east(florida). Did not get any compesation of any kind. According to them, it was not under their control so I lost all the money paid for the 2 fairs from Raleigh, NC to Orlando, Fl.

great flight. Pilot was communicative, flight attendants were excellent. Really nice experience except my tv didn’t work.

Overall, the flight was better than the flight I took to go to Florida, which had a bunch of problems. The crew is really nice and the plane was new so it had a small problem when we were on the runway, but the flight itself was great. They even made some time back up, which is always a good thing.

at the time for boarding the lady just call Group A and no other goups and everybody from A to F go inside without the right turn, and when we get in theres no more spsce for carry on , the ones that get in at not correct group from the back occupy our space !!!!! a mess !!!!

There were multiple delays but JetBlue tried to make the boarding and departure process as quick and efficient as possible. The crew was as detached from reality as could be, meaning: not very friendly and just doing things by the numbers.

I had back trouble prior to my flight and everyone was great about helping me.

Jetblue needs to improve on Onboarding as it seems to always be behind on departing. It never leaves on time. I would recommend to have an earlier Onboarding in order to leave on time and respect your customers time as well.

40 minute delay before take off after boarding flight. Bright lights throughout night flight due Issues with light panels. In flight Entertainment nonfunctional

There was a group of school age passengers that were very loud and unruly with their chaperones were no where to be found.

Boarding was unorganized. They expected passengers to ask people to move their assigned seat they paid for in order to sit together. The seats even in comfort are smaller than other airlines and the flight attendants appeared not to be well prepared

The WiFi didn’t work and the seats are too close together. Very uncomfortable.

I was told we'd have a hot breakfast option in first class, so I chose not get a hot breakfast. It was a very strange meal, but the fresh fruit was very good quality. Service was excellent from ORD to ELP. No service from MBS to ORD, not even water. However, when flying American from FNT to ORD, which is a shorter flight, they at least pass out snacks and offer water.

Last minute gate change nearly caused us to miss our flight. Change was not announced or displayed in the main board at the old gate. Terrible communication. When we landed we had to wait 20 minutes because there was another plane at the assigned gate. Not the crew’s fault, but adding 20 minutes to a 45 minute flight sucked.

Nothing beats ANA customer service on my opinion. Maybe because of their Japanese culture (and food). Arigatō

So so. Terrible aircraft choice for that leg of the flight.

Due to one crew member not showing up to work, our flight was significantly delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight in Houston to Mississippi causing us to be delayed by more than 6 hours and missing our event all together. Very disappointing. All because ONE crew member called in sick. United did grant us a $15 meal voucher, which was a small but appreciated concession that I wasn’t able to use because I ordered my lunch and paid for it before applying the concession, and the staff said it was too late to use it. Ugh! We also had a TWO delay coming back from Mississippi, but that was on American Airlines and it was due to weather, so not their fault. Anyway, not at all impressed with United’s handling of our flight and the HUGE disappointment of missing our important family event for our 90 year old mother. All that money and all that stress and emotions for nothing. Having to wait the hour to bring an employee from LAX seemed like something that should not have happened. Why don’t you have a local back-up? Santa Ana is not a little airport in a rural area.

Flight delayed from Cape Town to Washington then got diverted to miami and in miami we had to fend for ourselves , im still trying to get to Shreveport now

delay several times and wait extra long to board. no entertainment service because there are problem for some rows. always encounter some delays for the last flight of the day.

Too bad that first class seats do not recline significantly causing discomfort

I think the seats on some of their planes are uncomfortable. You can be ok on a short flight of two hours but no more than that. The delays, and also the refreshments on the plane were not enough.

Flight delayed over an over all day until it cancelled at 1:30am. Would not repeatedly delay that late. Offer hotel rooms and rebook early. Very difficult for families with small children

Not sure why JAL partnered with American Airlines because their service is no where near similar. Flight attendants were not friendly and didn’t smile. Food was horrible…

this is starting to seem like an american airlines standard. delayed flights and fake apologies… getting tired of it

Terrible boarding , Business class seats are sub standard. As usual crew will miss your food too

Just get Economy Plus for international flights, so worth it the extra room, bigger seats…

This flight is frequently delayed. The connections seemingly are more frequently delayed. I’ve missed connections as a result twice on the same route to charlotte then Charleston. Final destination arrival has been the next day, twice in a row. No pilots, no crew. Too many excuses. Unfortunately, my days with American are over.

Entertainment was okay not because anything was wrong but it is a short flight so having no wifi is annoying but understandable. Crew was outstanding as usual

It was spectacular. I had basic Economy and was given so much space and their seats lean back so far. Staff was superb, food was superb, everything was superb, Finnair is Fantastic.
