To find the nearest airport to any given location, whether that’s a city, vacation spot or even a national park, pop that place name into KAYAK’s flight search. We’ll suggest the nearest airport, or if there’s more than one option, you can search nearby (potentially cheaper) airports too.

How to search nearby airports on KAYAK.

Whether you’re looking for the nearest airport to your destination or some cheaper nearby options, KAYAK search can help.

  • Start a flight search on KAYAK
  • Type in your destination (Dallas) or nearest attraction (a national park, for example)
  • KAYAK will find the closest airport or airports
  • If there are multiple airports, you’ll see the ‘all airports’ option (Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Dallas Love Field (DAL), for example)
  • Click again, and ‘nearby options’ will also appear as an option

Selecting “Nearby airports” will tell us to look for options at other airports within a 70-100-mile radius of your origin and/or destination.

Sometimes, flying into a nearby airport can help you save on a flight, or you could discover an international hub is just an extra 20 miles away.

How to pick the right airport?

If there are multiple airports and you’re flexible about where you fly to and how long it takes, pick the cheapest option.

If the airport’s location is important, say for example you want a short trip from there to the city center, you can Ask AI for some planning help within KAYAK’s flight search results. Here’s a sample prompt to get you started “I’m looking at airports in Dallas. Can you tell me which one is closest to the city center?”

Other things to consider are how busy the airport tends to be and if your flight will be direct.
