Villa Lara, built in the late 1800s, is surrounded by the green of lemon groves and by the bright colors of flowering bougainville. Just a few steps from the Duomo and the sea, the villa enjoys a privileged position, perched on a cliff. It overlooks the entire ancient marine republic, permitting its visitors to fully immerse themselves in the teeming alleys and streets of the historic center in summer, while still enjoying complete tranquillity, far from every noise. Passing through an elevator built entirely into the rock, or by a panoramic flight of stairs, you will reach one of the most beautiful terraces of Amalfi, with an incomparable, breathtaking view. The rooms, especially welcoming and beautifully maintained, reflect the typical flavor of buildings of the Amalfi coast with their majolica tiles and ancient vaulted ceilings. The furnishings, strictly in antique style, are a marriage of elegance and practicality. The rooms are all equipped with bathroom with hydromassage tub or shower, hairdryer. In every room: Minibar, Air conditioning, Heating, Direct-line telephone, Color TV with cable, PC access, SafeRooms must be vacated by 11.00. the location was great and the staff very welcoming
the internet performance is very lacking..should have a wireless or ethernet in the rooms and for 24 hours
There are a lot of stairs - but we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Lara. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast on the veranda was a treat!
Friendly staff, possibility of parking, nice room design and seaview, nice breakfast
Nice view - but partial view from the room. You can see complete view when you have breakfast
It's very uncomfortable to ring a bell to get in the hotel. And the bell wasn't answered quickly. I had waited about 20 min. outside of hotel when I checked in since no one answered bell. (Once you have keys, you can open the gate.) After check out, to get my luggage back, I rang the bell again and waited about 10 min again. Secondly, I was notified credit card wasn't accepted when I checked out. It was a very short notice. Though I paid cash, I had trouble later due to shortage of cash. It was 150 euro . Is there hotel that doesn't accept credit card? I should've been notified this at the check in. I think this hotel is overrated. No, I don't think it deserves to have "hotel" in the name. It should be just "Bed and breakfast"
The staff were really helpful.
The breakfast was stale
The view from our balcony and the breakfast terrace was in my opinion, the best in Amalfi it overlooked the city lights and the water. The jacuzzi in our suite along with the in floor lighting made the room very romantic, exactly what we were looking for during our honemoon. The staff were very, very friendly and accomodating. It was extremely clean, safe and well kept. The hotel had alot of history and class. We were extremely happy and would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Amalfi Coast.
nothing, it was fantastic!
Friendly, informative staff. Peaceful environment.
The superior room had no view at all, so we changed to a cheaper room which had a more pleasant outlook.
Views and location. Breakfast on terrace.
The Staff were very friendly, leaving you alone if you wanted or helping where they could. Great location
I am not sure I would say our room had a hydro/power shower - especially if you like the shower warmish!! - didn't spoil the stay though.
the stunning views
hotel room did not exactly match the description on the website
