It looks like the hotel was recently renovated :everything is real fresh, clean and well groomed.
They announce a lower daily rate, but keep adding on top of it: extremely hight taxes and fees, even for the parking-so,you end up paying almost 50% more...isn't that misleading?
Lots of shops and eateries.
Rooms in the Havana tower are in serious need of renovating. They are really horrible. Shower was terrible.
The water took about 15 mins for the water to get hot. And the floor was very dusty everytime we got in the bed we had to dust off our feet. Not use to having that problem at a hotel.
Reserved a king and we were given a room with two queens. The mattresses sagged to the middle and were extremely uncomfortable. Will stay elsewhere on my next trip to ac.
seeing the ocean partially was nice
valet parking was a disaster. checking was a disaster because they did not give me what I reserved. the room amenities felt more like a cheap motel. I felt ripped off for $300 per night. DO NOT RECOMMEND TRAPICANA to my worst enemy.
Nice casino good location nice variety of resteraunts
Our room was as far away as you could get from everything except the parking garage. The room was nice but the carpet was terrible tears cigarette burns ( non-smoking)room. Would probably stay again but would request a room in the South Tower
I loved the beach front location. You can directly access to the boardwalk as well. It's good that they have a reasonable buffet restaurant.
We did not have Wifi in our room..
Great Casino, The Quarter is a very fun place to hang out for the night. Dinner at Carmine's was incredible. Casino and Entertainment are excellent.
Rooms were dirty and had burn holes in the floor. We were harassed if every single person in our group did not present a room key. Rooms were expensive but the quality in the room was very poor for the price. Left our rooms for 6 hours no one came and cleaned. Still trying to figure out why they charged us extra for 2 of the rooms. I've gone here in the past and had a great experience but this weekend was not great as far the hotel experience is concerned.
The variety of restaurants and shops within the building
I would like a bigger variety of newer slot machines
Room was big.
Room was dirty and air conditioning did not work.
The size of the Tropicana was huge. You never had to leave the hotel. We had a room in the West tower which was clean and well kept. We had the imax theater inside, indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Restaurants galore! All in all a great stay. Would definitely stay again.
They had 4 small elevators in the west tower and there was always a wait.
The bell hop (I think his name was Carlos)and one person at the front desk were the only ones that greeted us friendly. After we complained about being woke up with a hammer pounding for 2 hours we were given a $50 food voucher.
Rooms felt dirty and paint chipping. Also they were Orange and grey and not very inviting and very bare. Staff never smiled and were rude or couldn't speak English well. Have stayed here before a few years ago and had a good experience but will rethink this next time i go the Atlantic City after this stay. I came to spend my Birthday there and honestly this experience did not make for a very good day for me!! We were woke up at 8 am to a hammer pounding for 2 hours straight.
The tropicana is a great place to stay, great location with a whole lot to offer inside the resort you almost do not need to step outside. when you book thru a third party site you will always end up in the havana tower which is not horrible but not great.
The rates, although I got a good rate thru kayak the shame of it all is that you will always end up in the havana tower. The problem with the havana tower is that it looks like it has not been renovated in at least 20 years. Yes theres a flat screen tv and a fridge and a great mattress to sleep in but just the whole decor of the rooms and hallways looks terrible and gives your stay a cheap feel.
The only good thing was the beds were comfy.
The employees were nothing but rude to us all weekend. We took kids to watch fireworks over the ocean for the 4th and they didn't tell us until we checked in that there were no fireworks, sad and disappointed kids make for a bad visit. The amount of money we spent on rooms we should have been treated a lot nicer. I am a mother of 5 and spending 1300 for a weekend and not be treated with any respect is terrible. I already told people not to go to the tropicana that they are rude, and don't like families.
elevators were out of order at all given times...you needed a key for each person in the room and there was zero leniency, regardless of whoever actually planned to stay the night. it was annoying and certainly not worth over 400 dollars.
Everything was great upon arrival. It took about a half hour to check in around 8pm which was a little long. I asked for a non smoking room and when I got to the room it was stuffy and had a foul smell in the room. One of my guests is a smoker so she asked if we could change to a smoking room. I waited another 20 minutes to get the room switched and the front desk did help with that. The problem came in the morning when check out is at 11 and at 930 room service was pounding down my door to clean. I thought this was incredibly rude being as it is Atlantic city and most people are out on the town late and then to wake up guests an hour and a half before check out? When I checked out I informed the front desk about this and the woman was incredibly rude and said the only thing she could over would be an extra hour in the room. This wasn't helpful because I had already packed my bags and had them in hand at check out. I think the hotel could have been more accommodating on this issue and atleast apologized.
As always, our recent stay at the Tropicana was even better than expected. The hotel and casino is always full of crowds and entertainment. The staff and hotel was at its peak, and we were able to enjoy a newly-renovated room, which was fantastic. Thanks, TROP!
The shopping and dining area is very nice! Lots of options
We got to the room and it smelt sour. We asked the maid for air freshener and she opened a bottle of cleaning fluid and literally dumped it all over the floor of the room, smiled and walked away. The drain in the bathtub was also an issue. Having to pay for extra key cards when you made a reservation for four people was the icing though. The conceirge insisted the reservation was for two people and when I showed the confirmation email she said call Kayak and let them deal with it. I would visit the hotel again for the shopping and dining but not to stay.
Room was booked a day before check in. Upon check in we were told they didn't have any available rooms. We ended up sleeping in our car so we could enjoy the city a bit and not have to drive back 2 and half hours with no sleep. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT WAS MY MOTHER'S DAY GIFT!!!!!!!
Loved that the restaurant and club we went to were inside the Tropicana, so there was little traveling required. The club (Providence) was a lot of fun and we got table service which I highly recommend. The casino building itself has a very nice ambiance. The rooms had bathrooms with a nice large counter! The beds were also comfortable. Parking was $10 per exit, so you could have your car parked there for several days and only pay $10.
They count the number of people going to the rooms and each person has to have their own room key just to get to the elevators. I found this highly irritating - I presume if you lost one of the room keys you would have to pay the $25 they told me I would have to pay for an extra. Also you wouldn't be able to bring a friend up to your room unless they were also a guest at Tropicana. The room didn't have anyway to play music - the radio was very simple, early nineties style. It also did not have a refrigerator, and the cups were disposable. Also not a lot of light in the room. Long check in line.
Room looked old and outdated. Long line at elevators due to checkpoint.
Checked in at about 6 after that went down to dinner and hit the casino which was great as I went back up to my room to go to bed and my door lock was broken I went down to the front desk and they said for me to try new keys so I did after going back up to my room keys still didn't work.... Walked back down to the front desk and was told the lock smith would be in around 9am so as it being 2:30 in the morning that was going to work so I asked for another room until I could get my stuff from my room and check out the manager told me that if I had a problem that I can call corporate and tell them so at that point after waiting for her to come out of her office for 45 minutes I walked back up to my room level and was told to wait outside my room until 9! management is horrible as is the customer service I spent money on a room I couldn't even use them to be told they're not refunding me worst experience I have ever had will never go back!
Convenient location. Restaurants and shopping were good. Comedy Shop was a good event to go to, very funny.
Room was very old and tired. Lights in room did not work and the toilet had a leak the first night. It was repaired but you could tell it was a result of many years of heavy use.
Casino, shops, and restaurants were great.
Hotel rooms were old and dirty; needs updating. Non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes.
The casino was great even though it was under some renovations. We had a blast losing money, which is a hard thing to say. Carmine's was an amazing dinner and a great value to beat.
The rooms that we had weren't anything to write home about. I've stayed in a lot of nice casinos and this one was not one of the top 20. Harrah's down the block was way better. My bathroom looked like someone locked a dog in it with no food and a picture of a cat or a small child with a chainsaw. The manager was unaccomidating and the front desk was basically useless. Pretty expensive for what you're getting.
The room was excellent, very comfortable king size bed, and the bathroom was very clean. The room we asked for was a non smoking room. If you want to get the most out of your visit, I suggest two nights and three days. Arrive earlier than check in time because rooms are on a first come first serve. We arrived very late but already knew the room we wanted. On our way out we saw a 24 hour market near the Havana tower .... Was wondering where was that market When we came in. The experience all depends on your partner and yourself. If traveling with children I suggest a different hotel. Kids may not be able to enjoy this place.
Checked in at 12 midnight -did not use the pool -did not get the voucher special because promotions at trip advantage was closed, next morning they said the voucher is voided once we came in. -rooms as nice as the one I had, are not "promised" - the cofee in the room we were at was decaf :-( - The vendin machine for drinks place a Hold on your account of 6 dólars on top of the actual price for example display prive was 3 dollars for a bottle of water but the vending machine charger 9 dollars.
The location was nice and view was amazing. Unfortunately the room was old and dirty.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the helpful staff. I would definitely recommend going here, especially if you are looking to have a good time!
Non smoking room smelled immensely like cigarettes
The market place, number of restaurant choices and the nooks and crannies that lent itself to exploring. No need to go outside when it was so pleasant inside.
Rooms could use some updating however they were exceptionally clean.
Staff was extremely friendly and curtious was the only good part of stay. Had to pay for parking should be free for hotel stay due to the cost of room. Booked a King non-smoking but when we checked in to hotel ended up getting a smoking room and two double beds. Both my husband and myself are non-smokers and ended up stinking like smoke when we left. Was highly upset but receptionist advised that due to room availability this was the only thing offered for the evening. When I complained she advised that the booking was subject to the hotel availability in the fine print. When looking at the fine print it did advise this information. But still was not happy with a smoking room when we are non smokers. Bathroom in room was a bit out dated and had stains all over the ceramic walls along with broken pieces. Room itself was nice just wished it didn't smell horrible.
Atmosphere is great.
Room are extremely outdated for what it's costs to stay there.
Ease of checking in and express check out Restaurants Shows
The 10.00$ parking fee. If your a guest at the hotel they should not charge for parking.
Beautiful place a lot to do
Bathroom was not clean upon arriving to the hotel
