It's a bit old and run down. Musty smell and weather beaten. Leaks and bad texture and caulking in the bathrooms not done well, they were nice to give us an upgrade but its not worth writing home about. Even a nice view from the swamp is still just a nice view but a swamp none the less. Linen smelled generic and almost stale. The floors were cold slippery marble. The breakfast was lame, muffins and cereal with coffee and milk, not a whole lot to choose from, so we ate out a a local restaurant every morning. The people and the service was fine but to give it as many stars as 3 or 4 was bad and misleading. It may deserve 2 at most.
I was deceived by the pool and the landscaped area which looked nice. When I entered the room was a total disappointment. The sheets on the bed had stains (unknown sources), the kitchen was not a kitchen (dirty all over the place). Bathroom: never figured out how to open the water since there were not knob. Tv was an antique. On their behalf person at the front desk was very nice, probably used to customer complaining about the state of this run down hotel. Also hotel was full ..probably because it is the cheapest. Overall a very depressing place to stay with family.
This hotel is quite old and it shows, even if the paint is brightly colored. The beds are VERY uncomfortable and the 'kitchenette' is actually just a hot plate which makes cooking your own meal very difficult. The staff are helpful and nice. There is a very nice little restaurant in the back on the lagoona that serves the best fish dish ever! There is also a grocery store and street restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The pool was quiet and beautiful.
The attendant tried three different rooms, all with junk under the bed or things broken, before we found one we could settle on. The location is not easy to find - we were driving and asked for directions several times, finally finding it after dark. The location is okay - quiet, safe - once you find the street it is on. There is no place nearby for dinner - fortunately we had a car. The continental breakfast is bare bones, in a locked and dreary room. It was cheap - but not particularly near the airport, which I was expecting. The internet wasn't working. I would not stay here again.
staff was friendly and helpful, but hotel itself had old furniture, small rooms and not very clean. I have stayed before at Oasis Cancun and liked it much better for almost same price
This hotel is an excellent value for the price especially if all you need is a place to shower and pass out. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and made up daily plus there were no hidden fees. The restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Cancun. There are little cafes just a short walk away that serve breakfast and lunch. This hotel is on the lagoon side, they have a sister hotel on the beach that you can purchase a day pass and is a short bus ride away. The only down side is that you have to pay $70.00 USD cash to use a safety deposit box. Dont expect a five star hotel for the price.
located mere steps from major stampedes of gringos, the laguna offers a quiet respite. guests are mostly locals and euro vacationers taking advantage of this great deal. personable and diligent staff. thanx eddie and narda. not 5 star room / pool quality but this is a 2 star hotel. very relaxing ,discreet & serene. guests are not wrist tagged as other mega cattle resort corals. no crowds but some small crocs float in lagoon near deck, cruising for tasty hand/ foot snack.be safe/no stupid/ do not feed crocs.
I booked this hotel because of its descrition, 'and approximately five miles from Cancun International Airport.' If that was five miles from the airport then I'm a brain surgeon. The distance is more like 20 miles and through the hotel zone. \n\nNot what I thought I was getting!
Hotel was nice economic hotel. The staff spoke little English but was helpful. (We don't speak Spanish) Downside the hotel had a timeshare table. Use travel agency's Olympus tours they were honest and frankly every activitiy we did was cheaper than timeshare offers. Overall, the hotel was nice however, if I went back to Cancun I would definitely stay in a hotel that is on the Beach. They have a sister hotel Los Playas that is on the beach side. I believe they are also an economy Hotel. Over experience was nice but not perfect.
If you like to stay away from the beach and get away from all of the excitement and fun stay here . I just love this boring place !!
HOTEL WAS OK. NO REAL COMPLAINTS. HAD SOME ROOM PROBLEMS. BUT THEY WERE ADDRESSED THE NEXT DAY. THE POOL WAS NICE. AND THE PLACE WAS CLEAN AND TIDY. SHORT WALK TO THE EXCITMENT. ALL IN ALL IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY PAID. SAVE MONEY STAY THERE AND SHOP WITH THE REST.
