I stayed here for business and also leisure. I chose this hotel based off of location and it was perfectly placed near all of the great tourism spots in the city. I walked everywhere all weekend, which is a great way to burn off all the delicious food Chicago has to offer. The view from the room of the city and the Chicago river is spectacular. The hotel staff was extremely nice, accommodating and the rooms were very clean.
The parking fee to keep your car there during your stay is astronomical. We received a note card saying we get a "free gift" for staying there in our room the first morning we were there. When we turned it in, it was a free vacation only if you were over 28 and married and your spouse was staying with you, which I didn't qualify for as my spouse was at home. Because of that, I received one drink with an appetizer purchase (so not a free gift if you have to buy something ) at the hotel resturant. I think gimmicks like this are insulting and a waste of the guests time.
I loved that we had a mini sofa in our room.
I would have liked a mirror outside of the bathroom - 4 people had to share one mirror for hair, makeup etc.
Loved the view from our room. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Some of the bellhop men could be more friendly but besides that it was a very amazing stay for our family!
Great people! Helpful and personal service. We requested a river view room (def worth the extra $$!) and were surprised with an amazing corner room with the greatest views! This location is better than staying up in the Mag Mile area if you plan on seeing the sights. Short walk to Millenium Park, Art Institute, and the L. And you are right at the base of the Mag Mile. Loved being on the river more than I can say! The room was clean and comfy, not a five star hotel but a very acceptable four star. The restaurant/bar is not wonderful, but we don't go to Chicago to eat in the hotel.
The shower had one of those fancy yet totally impractical giant shower heads that comes down from the center of the ceiling. A trend that needs to go away.
The elevator took very long. Waited over 15 for one to come.
The location was PERFECT! Pay the extra money and get the river view room. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well insulated. The outside noise was hardly noticed - except for the occasional emergency vehicle.
First of all -- I would stay here again. Our room was located immediately beside the elevator. Had it not been Memorial Day weekend, I would have asked to be moved - but hey, someone has to get those rooms... Secondly, we were on the 10th floor - this is one of the lower guest floors. A higher floor would have been nice for the reduction of street noise. Our room would have been 5 star if it were not for the bathroom. The toilet would hang up regularly. The sink faucet leaked around the hot water handle and would leak water onto the vanity top. I placed a wash cloth around the handle to keep from wetting my toiletries. Last complaint, the tile shower was not level. The drain actually sat at the highest point in the shower. We would turn the shower on for 2-3 minutes to allow the standing water in the floor to warm before getting in.
no complaints, everything was great.
Great staff, amenities, and the cleaning crew was spot-on. We loved being a block from Michigan Avenue.
The hotel's restaurant was a tad overpriced, and the front desk didn't put in much effort to price match for us when we extended our stay a night. They did give us a complimentary room upgrade, though!
Grand location; grand comfort; grand view; grand service; grand value. Thanks
$61 overnight parking fee!!!!!!
The room was very clean with all the facilities we needed. The concierge was only somewhat helpful as she did not know the city as well as my phone! Good restaurant tied to the hotel
As with all hotels, too pricey! Very small front desk area that made it quite crowded when using the Lobby.
The location is fantastically located between Magnificent Mile and the museum campus. It was easy to get to and offered stunning views!
The hotel room lacked basic amenities. There was no coat rack in the room. In the unpredictable Chicago weather, our weathered coats needed a place to dry. Housekeeping was stingy on towels, shampoo, and coffee. One tiny bottle of shampoo for a potential of 3 days worth of showers for a family will not cut it. They also did not replenish our coffee. When we asked for more coffee, they brought up 1 Keurig cup of coffee, 2 coffee cups, and 3 sugar and cream packages, which did not make any sense. Also be aware that they add $80 per night to your card for incidentals.
Fabulous staff. Very clean. Excellent central location
Small bathroom. Expensive parking with little alternative. $60/night to park at the hotel and lowest cost parking alternative we found was $40/night.
Comfortable king size bed with great city view
suggest addressing the noise, could hear others in their room
The employees were so nice and helpful. Especially upon checkout
No pool. First night of four we were put in a handicapped room with no shower door (1606) but they moved us for the last three nights of our stay
Very nice room
We stayed there after a wedding. A night away from the kids. Wyndham gives an unsolicited wake up call at 9 a.m. To tell us we have a welcome package at the front desk. This was a coupon to their bar and a way to get guests out of the hotel. We were very disappointed to be awakened like that. It ruined our stay. John & Mary - Chicago
The fridge was not working even with the replacement.
