I traveled to this hotel with my son to visit my aunt that lives in this town. The area seemed good and the rooms appeared to be nice from the pictures posted online. It was not a bad hotel for the money but there were a few things that could have been approved upon. Bed: Very uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night long. The pillows were very very soft and hard to sleep with. I would recommend either bringing your own or not staying at this hotel. Walls/Noise Level: Although it may have been the weekend that I stayed, the noise level was very high throughout the hotel. I believe there was a group with young children but the hotel could have controlled the group a little more. The doors were slammed and we could hear every noise in the hall way. This just added to the discomfort in the bed and my inability to sleep. Breakfast: The best part are the waffles which I had to wait for about 20 minutes to make because so many other people were having them as well. That was the only hot food. There were pieces of fruit and cinnamon rolls along with some dry looking danishes and cereal, nothing special. Cleanliness: At first glance, the room appeared to be clean, upon further inspection, there was some mold in the shower. And they will also not change your sheets unless you put the hanger in the bathroom on your bed. Overall: I was not expecting to stay in a 5 star resort but I did, however expect to have a comfortable bed and a clean shower.
Nice place, a little out of the way from mainstream Columbia but worth the little extra drive.
Located on the NE edge of Columbia, MO. The place was clean and the staff was good. Located about a mile from lots of food choices, most of which are fast or buffets. This was my 2nd stay here and it was the same both times. The bed did leave a bit to be desired.
This is the best Super 8 in Columbia, and one of the better discount hotels around for the amenities--swimming and a hot tub, primarily. The breakfast is standard for this type of hotel--hot waffles you can make yourself, fruit, cereal, etc. The rooms are okay--beds are decent, they have an okay TV, etc. I'd say that if you are worried about getting this hotel, you'll be okay if you just want a basic hot tub, Internet access, and something to eat in the mornings. If you're looking for good amenities...not so much. Oh, and the laundry machines seem to be at risk of breaking down often. Do NOT expect to dry laundry here.
Newly remodeled, beautiful, big rooms, very comfy. Will stay here again!
We've stayed here the past four years while my son was attending Mizzou. Clean, friendly and we like the location. It's still in Columbia but not quite as busy as the downtown area where you cannot even get to your hotel without waiting in traffic for what could be an hour sometimes. Prices are much less than others also.
The person that we dealt with was nice. The room did not have the AC on so by the time we got to our room it was late that night and it was VERY hot and stuffy in the room. It had been in the hundreds that day! It took hours to cool off. I will never stay there again!!!!!
Very nice for the price. Room was clean and comfortable. Pleasant and helpful staff. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub and continental breakfast. Would stay again.
Cheap is the word. Spend the extra money and stay at a better motel. Hard Beds. Thin walls. You get what you pay for is right. I have stayed in Columbia motels for the last 4 years on the average of several weeks a year. Never again here.
This hotel was relatively new and very clean. Our only glitch was the fact we had requested a non-smoking room and were assigned a smoking room (yuk!). The young man at the front desk was able to change it and it was done smoothly. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired, with a small selection. We would stay here again.
We selected this hotel based on combined factors of - advertised as new, low price and overwhelmingly favorable reviews. Common areas (pool, lobby, breakfast room) were all commendable. Our room, another story. A classic case of ''you get what you pay for''. The ''new'' construction was shoddy at best and to top it off our bed blanket had many large and quite obvious cigarette burn holes revealing the sheet below (one would have thought that housekeeping would have noticed while prepping the room), not to mention the fact that the room was supposed to be non-smoking.
Clean room, no problems
I can not express my gratitude enough to the managers at Super 8. We have been in the Show Me Games the last 2 years and had very bad luck with hotels. I have a three year old and 9 year old and want to be able to relax and enjoy our stay. Since in the medical field of 18 years its hard to find a place where I can feel comfortable letting my child take a bath or run around the room with no shoes on. Well if you are like me this is the place to stay. We loved it , we loved it, we loved it. We would stay again and again.
Enjoyed this hotel! Good value, clean, great staff, nice breakfast and pool/hot tub. Will stay again when we're in town!
We had a great stay for the money. This hotel was the only affordable one in the Columbia area that had both an indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was friendly, but not overly eager to accomodate. The breakfast selection was phenomenal for this kind of hotel-- very pleased, even better than some of the more expensive hotels we've stayed at. The room was clean looking and smelling. It had the usual annoying hotel nuances, such as burned out bulbs in some of the lamps in our room, not enough bath towels or never any pool towels. Very easy to get to and away from heavy traffic areas, but still very close to the heart of Columbia-- minutes from Bass Pro :), however there is a Harley-Davidson Dealer/Store RIGHT behind it. We would definitely stay here again if it maintains its appearance and upkeep.
This Super 8 was wonderful. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was very nice. This was very comparable to a Comfort Inn or County Inn. The motel owner should be commended on this hotel as well as the other Super 8 motel in the Columbia area. Thank you for an enjoyable stay and a friendly and courteous staff.
