Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport holds the title of the world's busiest airport, yet its structure makes it one of the easier airports to navigate. Being approximately ten miles from downtown Atlanta also makes it an excellent spot for tourists and business travelers alike. A total of five parallel runways handle the large number of daily flights that arrive and fly out of Atlanta every day. According to 2006 statistics, more than 84 million passengers used Atlanta for domestic, international, and transit flights.

The Atlanta airport has a unique three and a half mile underground system that connects all terminals making it easy to travel from area to area within a matter of minutes. Trains run every two minutes ensuring that passengers need not wait long. With more than 200 stores and restaurants, those with long layovers will find there is plenty to see and do. Businesses enjoy the huge conference center located in the atrium area. There are twenty-three meeting rooms, many computer work areas, video conferencing capabilities, and even catering services. Automated External Defibrillators are scattered throughout the airport in each terminal. With more than 200 of these machines available, those having a cardiac event are assured of immediate treatment.

Finally, smokers need not worry. There are a number of smoking lounges found on the airport grounds. T-Gates has a smoking area near gates 4 and 13. Smoking areas area also available at Concourse A near Gates 14 and 23 and in the Budweiser Brewhouse. Concourse B has smoking lounges near Gates 7 and 24.
