The newly renovated BEST WESTERN Denver Southwest is the perfect destination for visitors seeking a convenient location just minutes from both downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountain foothills. Our hotel offers superbly appointed accommodations and a wide variety of amenities ideal for business and leisure travelers alike. Uniquely situated in suburban Denver, the hotel provides easy access to the nearby Denver Zoo, Pepsi Center, Coors Field, Botanical Gardens, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Elitch Gardens Amusement Park, Bel Mar Shopping Center, and the 16th Street Mall. If you plan to spend some time exploring the foothills and Rocky Mountains, our location affords incomparable access to some of the best attractions and day hiking available on the Front Range. Take in a summer concert at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, or enjoy the thrill of drag racing at Bandimere Speedway, both less than a ten minute drive from our hotel. Each of our immaculately clean and comfortable guest rooms are furnished with 40 inch flat screen televisions and more than 60 channels of HD programming, including HBO®. For your convenience, complimentary Wi-Fi access, microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee makers are also provided in every room. Our one of a kind, year round outdoor heated pool and hot tub were designed to imitate the shorelines of the Cretaceous Interior Seaway which covered Colorado more than 100 million years ago. The hotel boasts a strong sense of prehistoric regional identity in a nod to early paleontological explorations of the area. You may feel as if you walking through a natural history museum as you peruse our collection of replica artifacts, dig panels, and fossils found throughout the lobby building and hotel. Enjoy the best that Denver has to offer and still find time to take in the scenic beauty of Colorado while experiencing the same great service and value you have come to expect at the BEST WESTERN Denver Southwest.
I really liked how nice the staff were & how clean the housekeeping kept things.
The doors were kind of tricky to open, the fire alarm went off at 1:30am.
I booked this hotel for the dinosaurs and it didn't disappoint. In the end, it was your average Best Western, but the dinos were a nice bonus. The location is great for sites like Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge; less so for downtown Denver activities. The hot breakfast and pool were great too.
If you like clean and dinasours this is the place for you
They have a lot of fossils in the lobby and during breakfast there's a nice girl there to educate everyone, adults and children, on some of the history of fossils. It's really cool.
The bathrooms are kind of small and there's no elevator to the second floor, for people who have a difficult time with stairs.
Alice, the assistant general manager was very nice about getting us to another hotel the first night of our trip. We had booked 3 days at this hotel. The hotel was clean and very nicely updated. The pool area has a nice place to eat breakfast and the pool was large and clean. It was a decent place to stay for the price.
Everyday, in the hall where our room was, the entire length of the hallway and half the width was taken over with dirty laundry (bed linens, towels). We've never seen this at a hotel. Maybe there wasn't enough room in the laundry area. Not sure. Also, the morning after we were directed to the other hotel, we came back to this hotel around 8:00 a.m. One of the young girls told us we could not check in early! I tried explaining to her that we had 3 days booked and paid for and she wouldn't hear it. After all, it wasn't our fault the electricity was out our first night. I explained to her that I had spoken with Alice about this (she didn't believe me and asked what Alice looked like) and when I described Alice, she left the front desk and returned with Alice. Alice was very nice and got us a room. She said the girl didn't know we were already in the system (even though I told the rude girl we were). I do want to stress that Alice was VERY accommodating.
The location of the hotel was great! The room was clean when we arrived, and the beds where very comfortable. The room offered a mini fridge and microwave which was great for all the left overs we had from eating at the restaurants in the area.
The staff service dwindled as our stay continued. The night we checked in when smoothly. The next dat our keys stopped working and we had to go the the front desk, and the clerk acted like it was our fault it wasn't working. Then the maid service they have to clean the rooms was great for the first two day but for the rest of our stay, which was three more nights, it became very lax. They would only make the bed but forget to give us clean coffee cups or water glasses. One night they didn't give us fresh towels after I had pull all the one we used on the floor next to the door.
Especially appreciated great service from staff at breakfast. Received warm welcome from them everyday...
Smoke alarm going on often in the middle of night for two continuous days...
Nice room, clean & comfortable
Breakfast rated a D
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was excellent. Especially appreciated great service from staff at breakfast, and also in evening for drinks and food at Paleo Joes, bar/food service. The restaurant/bar is small but has a selection of food and drinks in the evening. Breakfast selection is relatively small but good quality, with omelettes and scrambled eggs, a waffle maker, cereal, bagels, toast, juice, coffee. Small pool and spa looked steamy hot in cold weather. Felt pool water temp and it was inviting but didn't have chance to try! Overall a very pleasant stay!
We were visiting Golden and the hotel is a bit of a drive since it is on the far side of Lakewood. This is a negative but overall value vs. time is reasonable. Travelers looking to stay at this hotel should just take into account having a bit of a drive if you need to go back and forth into Golden or towards Denver central.
Clean, friendly, great location
