comfortable clean and friendly. Food was adequate, not great. We will stay there again.
I have stayed at a number of hotels across the Pismo Beach coastline over the past years. This hotel ranks in my top 2 hotels for sure. The hotel is perfectly located, has beautiful views, shared beach access and the rooms are very comfortable. I would recommend to any traveller.
loved it! The rooms are great with a warm fireplace, high ceilings and wonderful, squishy beds. The pool was greenish, however. I would not have swam in it.
Excellent stay, quiet, large room, cozy with fireplace, excellent beach convenience walking distance to beach. Great stay will come again!
Cottage Inn by the Sea is a great place if you want to get away in order to do nothing. If this is your plan, get a stack of books, films, some yummy food (the rooms have fridges) and book one of the rooms that have an ocean view. Open the window so you can hear the ocean (which will be the only thing in your view!), turn on the room's fireplace and hunker down under the goose down in your king-sized bed. Recipe for being refreshed is complete! The rooms are clean, quiet and very comfortable. You won't want to leave!
Our 2nd stay at cottage Inn. Nice room, clean, quiet and comfortable. Will stay again.
Do not stay here! When you arrive they will tell you that they don't have your room, and you must pay for 2 days to stay there. We were stranded with a little baby! At almost $ a night that's steep for this roadside motel. They also add other fees for pets, parking, etc. And the place is not nice at all They post nice pictures of the outside of the building but his, probably, used to be a $a night drive-through motel that was prettied up. Not worth the money. Stay at nearby Best Western or Edgewater - nicer, cleaner and friendlier.
My wife and I stayed here during the week for a two night getaway. First off, all the front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The first thing I noticed about the room was how small and cramped it was. We had a king bed with ocean view & patio. Way too much furniture. The room was pretty clean, but the bathtub had a chip in it and had hair in it. The shower and counter had new tile but the floor tile was dirty and dingy. This room definitely was showing some age. However, the bed was very comfortable, had eight fluffy pillows, and the fireplace worked well. Also the window and door leading to the ocean side were airtight, which was important since there was 30 mph winds during our stay. The hotel sits up above the ocean on a cliff, so it's not right on the beach. You have to walk through several other hotels to access the beach. It does lend to some awesome views though. We paid winter rates which I think are at least 25% too high. The continental breakfast is very good with lots of food, including a waffle maker, and is open until 10am. All in all we had a pleasant time and would go back, however I personally would rather stay right on the beach. For dining- Try Del's Pizza and Italian about a mile north. Best pizza I've had in years. Also try Huckleberrys a few miles south. It's theme is Louisiana bayou with very good food.
Compared to other $$$ per week-end night hotels, the Cottage Inn fails in value for money. This hotel ranks at a $$ summer week-end rate at most and travelers should look elsewhere if one is looking for amenities and room quality at this current week-end summer rate. It's impossible to think in todays economy, this hotel would charge this rate and believe customers will return. We visit the area alot and stay at many local hotels, but, we shall drop this one from the list.
Service, cleanliness, spaciousness, and location were fantastic! When we arrived, our room was too small, but the staff immediately upgraded our room to our satisfaction. The location on the coast and the view of the Pacific were breathtaking! The room was clean and spacious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
A wonderful place to stay, in a great little beach town. Highly recommended - very nice room, nicely appointed. And don't miss the deck chairs to watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean!
this motel listed a 10.00 pet charge and they charged me 20.00 for my one day stay.
I always read the reviews when booking This hotel was everything that the reviews said. I took my two small dogs and they had a room that we could just open the back door to the room and let them go potty. many people had their pets and were walking them around and down to the beach - it was great! The room was big and pretty - landscape was very nice - Loved it!
We selected this hotel because it said it had a ocean view. Our view was semi ocean but mostly bushes and the windows were very small. The room did not have air conditioning it did have a ceiling fan but our room was about 85 even with the windows open not until about 4:00 am did it cool down. The windows were also full of small nats (maybe from the beach) and there was no beach access from the Hotel you had to walk up to the highway and to the hotel next door to go to the beach. I would not stay at this hotel again.
