This world-renowned icon dominates the Quebec City skyline with its unique architecture. Ideally located inside the walls of Old Quebec, the landmark luxury hotel has undergone a multimillion dollar renaissance project that will reposition it as one of the worlds leading hotels. The restoration blends the charm of the hotels enchanting past with modern innovations, creating an allure that is fresh and seductive, balanced with the hotels rich history and dynamic future.
The hotel is stunning! We enjoyed the beautiful location and building itself with all the history. The location was convenient and the staff went above and beyond with everything. We have already recommended it to friends who plan to travel in October.
No free wi-fi???? Seriously in this day and age??? Our only disappointment.
Room service mediocre, never changed the sheets in 4 days, I was charged for unused items, the place was extremely noisy, food average quality, expected more quality, worst hotel in the fairmont chain.
This hotel is stunningly beautiful from the outside, it feels like you're staying in a castle. Once inside, it's very charming. They have a really nice bar/lounge on the first floor, that serves great food and has couches and fireplaces in a circle around the bar. And wifi works in there. I would go there with my laptop and work sometimes. Upstairs the pool is huge and really nice, and has a rooftop view of the old city. And the gym facilities are modern and clean, with that same view while you're on the treadmill. Rooms are good. Not "super" luxurious as it's an older building, but definitely nice and clean, and quiet. And the staff is very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.
The restaurant has weird hours. I tried going there at 11am and it was already closed until later in the day. But they have good food in the bar.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent accommodations. Excellent service. No problem if you don't speak French. The bistro had beautiful views of the river while you dine. Old Quebec is a very short walk and some really great food.
I know it's a minor thing but the gym is pretty sparse. We managed to get some workout in but limited due to equipment. They do have multiple treadmills.
Staff is very helpful and the location is fantastic. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in the city, and the room was very plesant, with a good view.
In this day and age, you'd think wifi would be included. After the first day, I went to the Starbucks (accessable from inside the building) to get my email and electronic newspaper.
Extremely friendly staff and clean building. Great location for everything in the city.
Room was extremely clean but very dated bedroom and the walk in closet was a waste of space.
Great hotel in the perfect location. Staff was superb especially given how busy the hotel must be constantly. Had a huge newly renovated room, king bed, pull out couch plus plenty of room for a cot for our two sons 16 and 11.
Waits for elevators on occasion.
The staff are more than willing to assist you with any of your requests. They speak both english and french. There are pre-printed cards with driving directions to nearby activities and sites which can be obtained at the front desk. There are numerous tours both on foot and by bus which leave depart outside the hotel. Numerous Restaraunts within walking distance serve some of the best food I've ever eaten.
The hotel is just perfect for honeymoons, in particular if you go a bit up the price range and get one of the better rooms. It is possible to enjoy privacy and a great city view at the same time, which makes up for splendid nights.
In general, a lot of small things are overpriced. This leaves the impression of penny-pinching.
The general ambiance of luxury, the friendly Staff and the location let aside the rich interiors and amazing exterior architecture.
Ongoing repair works are partly blocking the view, capacity of lifts comparing to number of hotel guests is limited, area of offered room at check in time was very small. Very interesting hotel to visit but not to stay in unless you can afford the delux waterfront suites.
Room needs to be selected with caution. We had to change rooms three times as we were given rooms with scaffolding over all windows. Rooms are small, and many face a courtyard.
Rooms were very comfortable and clean.
When we arrived, the computers were down-we waited in a long line to put or name on a list. We were asked to be seated in the bar where we would be called when the problem was corrected. I went back to the desk & was told the problem continued. After 2 1/2 hours, I went back to reception to find a new long line. We were traveling with my 85-yr old father. I was told by those in line that the computer was indeed up - they had just arrived. In line again, I asked one of the managers on the site why we were not called as we were told. He asked "Was I not given a pager before we were sent to the bar?" That manager was at the desk when we first arrived, he knew that no pagers were handed out; the desk clerk confirmed this. Shabby treatment!
