Service and location were excellent! Staying here was truly a one of a kind experience.
The rooms were small .
Gorgeous hotel in a fabulous location
The hotel is in the best location for someone wanting to see different parts of Quebec City. The staff is very well trained and seems to try to exceed expectations. This is a gorgeous historic hotel that has been extensively renovated. The pool and spa, all the restaurants, etc. are at or above the standards of what you will find in more modern luxury hotels. Based on my experience, I would recommend staying in one of the traditional decor rooms (preferably beginning 62##).
Initially, we were offered an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms, but we thought the window was very small and the room felt rather claustrophobic. So, we asked to be put back in the traditional decor, unrenovated rooms and found it to be much larger and comfortable with a double window and a great view. Of course, these two rooms (out of the 600 in the hotel) likely were not representative of all the remodeled/traditional room layouts. Just my experience.
Nice place to visit, but stay elsewhere!
Beautiful interior and exterior, pool and related facilities were generously appointed.
Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.
All staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
GREAT WITH ONE EXCEPTION
Well kept facility and competent staff. Great location. Would come again.
But . . . you run a luxury hotel. And then you do a Motel 6 maneuver and charge people for WiFi in their room. I would expect this from an American airline company (the worst customer service businesses on the planet), but not from a top-end hotel chain.
Beautiful hotel, friendly and super accommodating staff. Wish we had more time to use the pool and to relax at the lounge area by the pool. It is close o all. We will go back again.
Parking is pricy. We got complimentary water the first day and then no more afterwards. Water is $8 a bottle in the room! Lobby could use some updating.
Renovate all your rooms
The renovated room and view
We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.
A beautiful Fairmont hotel in Quebec
Location, architecture, overall experience, elegance, staff readiness to please, convenience
Phones in the room didn't work, dental kit took too long to get delivered,
Free Wifi in the room would have been nice.
The location was fantastic. The pool area and terrace. The architecture and history of the building. Staff was wonderful.
Crowded, expensive, no wifi, average room.
Staying in a historic building in a great city. Didn't touch the car for 4 days. Great dining both in and around the hotel at a number of spots. Unbelievable views.
Only that I didn't plan on a longer stay.
The hotel staff is very professional and helpful, and location is close to most travel attractions. It's a landmark hotel with signifiant history.
Old hotel in dire need, but an amazing location wi
The location in Old Town can't be beat. The staff was very helpful in suggesting & reserving dinner. Handled room issue with free upgrade when I didn't accept lesser room.
First impressions: a disaster! Tried to give us a double bed for our king reservation. Two of the three elevators were down. Took an hour for bags to make up to room. No towels in room when we arrived. The white wine had been used & filled with water!
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a grandiose, opulent hotel that offers visitors a one-of-a-kind experience. The hotel is one of the centerpieces of the Old Quebec district, among other excellent attractions like the 1800s Citadelle Fort and Terrasse Dufferin, a large boardwalk that overlooks the city. Château Frontenac is impossible to miss with its large spires and impressive size. While the hotel has always been incredible, it recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation project that upgraded virtually every facet of the compound. Château Frontenac boasts 611 guestrooms and suites that invite visitors to take a look into both historic Canada and Europe. Château Frontenac has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site so every guest who stays here is truly a part of history. There are three different types of rooms that guests can choose to stay in. The Fairmont Room ranges from 175 square feet to 225 square feet and features classic decor. The Deluxe Rooms are the same size as the Fairmont Rooms but with some additional furniture and amenities. The Signature Rooms are the largest and finest rooms in the hotel and represent the pinnacle of what Château Frontenac has to offer. Since Château Frontenac has such a storied history and sits on such beautiful grounds, guests can sign up for guided tours throughout the day. The main restaurant in Château Frontenac is Champlain Restaurant headed by Chef Stephane Modat. The kitchen creates delicious dishes that take guests through a journey of local Quebec cuisine. While reservations aren't required, they are highly encouraged. Other dining facilities include the 1608 Wine and Cheese Bar and Bistro Le Sam, which offers creative lunch dishes and fun happy hour cocktails.
