Overview
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a grandiose, opulent hotel that offers visitors a one-of-a-kind experience. The hotel is one of the centerpieces of the Old Quebec district, among other excellent attractions like the 1800s Citadelle Fort and Terrasse Dufferin, a large boardwalk that overlooks the city. Château Frontenac is impossible to miss with its large spires and impressive size. While the hotel has always been incredible, it recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation project that upgraded virtually every facet of the compound.
Château Frontenac boasts 611 guestrooms and suites that invite visitors to take a look into both historic Canada and Europe. Château Frontenac has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site so every guest who stays here is truly a part of history. There are three different types of rooms that guests can choose to stay in. The Fairmont Room ranges from 175 square feet to 225 square feet and features classic decor. The Deluxe Rooms are the same size as the Fairmont Rooms but with some additional furniture and amenities. The Signature Rooms are the largest and finest rooms in the hotel and represent the pinnacle of what Château Frontenac has to offer.
Since Château Frontenac has such a storied history and sits on such beautiful grounds, guests can sign up for guided tours throughout the day. The main restaurant in Château Frontenac is Champlain Restaurant headed by Chef Stephane Modat. The kitchen creates delicious dishes that take guests through a journey of local Quebec cuisine. While reservations aren't required, they are highly encouraged. Other dining facilities include the 1608 Wine and Cheese Bar and Bistro Le Sam, which offers creative lunch dishes and fun happy hour cocktails.
