The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop lounge area was really quite a beautiful view. Comfortable bed. Beautiful Christmas tree in lobby.
1. Very small room (by today's standards) 2. No onsite parking (only Valet, at a garage a block and a half away. 3. Noisy on street at night 4. Location on the sketchy side, and not close to convention center hotelsThis is a hotel that is doing what it can, given limitations of a 100+ year old building, to give guests a quality stay. It is perfectly fine for the single business traveler, or even for a couple for a night or two. But it has small rooms (the sink has to be in the bedroom because the bathroom wouldn't fit one), slow elevators (according to their history, the fastest elevators in the world -- in 1913!), lots of street noise that is worse on weekends because it's near to rowdy bars and sex-related merchandisers (e.g. Hustler). But the staff is helpful and solicitous, and they do thei...
Clean, quiet, friendly, valet parking, fast friendly, 24 restaurant + room service and the food was excellent and they even had Chocolate milkshakes at 2 am. This is my new favorite place to stay and I live here in S.D.
The only thing I didn't like about this place is that they wouldn't let me move in as a permanent resident. Everything about my stay here was amazing!!I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful Hotel this is. Amazing!! This Hotel deserves every Star it could possibly get! I stumbled upon a Gem.
The location. Walking distance to convention center and in the middle of Gaslamp and all the bars and restaurants.
It is an old building so the rooms are small and the elevator is a bit scary.Great value! It's an old building so the rooms were small but very clean and kept up nicely with some modern finishings. Staff was very helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay here again on my next business trip.
Hotel parking none,Horbile rooms, and I was awake the whole night due to drunk people and people having a party the halls
Location was perfect. Within a 10 minute walk of the convention center.
Staff was rude. I called in the morning to check on their free shuttle & was told to call when I got there, a van would be there in 15 min. I arrived in San Diego & was told it would be 45 min. I was told I could either wait or pay for a cab. Super rude.
Location of Hotel
When I got to the hotel they added extra charges that I was not told about when I called the day before. They told me there would be only a $20.00 charging fee over the phon.I got to the hotel and they gave my room to another and the room A/C not workThis hotel I will never return to
Location was great; perfect for what we needed for a one night stay, and $20 valet was actually very helpful. The room was VERY small for the price (e.g. i'm a tall, thin female and felt I could barely turn around in the shower), however, the room was extremely clean.
it was very close to the House of Blues and the price was right. I did not realize that is was an old building, but still it was nice. The roof top patio is very nice.
The room was very small for two people, however it was clean and had a very comfortable bedd and new flat screen, and wi-fiThe front desk staff and the staff in the restaurant were both friendly and very knowledgeable. They did an excellent job!
The location, all the staff and the restaurant.
The bathroom was uncomfortable. Should have another modern elevator as an option to the historical ones.I would definitely return and recommend the hotel.
I chose non-smoking level but there was smoking on our level. I told front desk but their response, 'there's nothing I can do'.
