For the star rating this hotel was great. The location is quiet considering it's near a mall and major retailers.
Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was convenient for me to attend my daughter's graduation at Great Lakes Navy Base, very nice restaurants, shopping mall and movie theater nearby.
On day three, the bathroom vanity light did not work. I was moved to a room down the hall and the bathtub faucet would not turn on. I don't understand how the bathtub faucet was not corrected before giving this room to a hotel guest.
Clean room. very kind staff.
The fact it was located within walking distance of everything
kept ordering a convenience package and it took 1.5 days to get it and numerous phone calls and inperson requests
Was very close to work and the hotel had a shuttle to drop me and pick from work
Wifi internet, pretty bad experience. The speed is restricted and it's awful in this modern times that the hotel limits the speed and usage! If you are more of the kind where you need to connect to work after regular hours you will be in for a surprise.
It was clean, the water was hot, and there were a lot of places to shop nearby.
It was in a kind of out of the way spot and took a few minutes to find.
Staff is great.
First and foremost the staff. Friendly & helpful. Able to accommodate our request for our two rooms together and other requests were filled with no snarky attitudes. Rooms were clean, spacious & my gosh the bed was very comfortable.
Location, location, location. Set back from the street, hidden by trees. Heard same complaints from other visitors. Need some sort of sign.
Awesome 2 star. Check in system was down upon arrival but the clerk was courteous with a few impatient customers as a line formed. Great service and attitude.
Clean and met expectations for an good, inexpensive hotel
Continental breakfast was weak
Great staff. They all work hard to make the entire property clean, pleasant and problem-free.
The smoking that is allowed right outside all the entryways. There are a lot of guests here who smoke. I would like to see the same type of rule that Starbucks has - no smoking within 100 feet of the entries.
Everyone working at this location is top notch. It is impressive to see how they channel their energy into doing their best. I would suggest Natalie, Anderomeda, and Giselle train other locations. Thank you for making my extended stays pleasant!
Large room, full kitchen, recliner
Dishes, etc not in room. TV didn't work.1st room full of flies. Had to change rooms.
no in door activities
3rd time I have stayed here. The internet connection has NEVER worked and the front desk employees repeatedly tell me that 'management knows . . . they keep resetting the router . . . but they can't seem to fix it'. Please do not book me here again.
Internet . . . not that hard!
Rm condition is very good for the price I paid. I stay 3 extended stay America in this trip. Generally RM is good except in Waukeegan but service has a lot of room to improve it.
I can not find the hotel at 11:00pm from my GPS. There is no sign from Rt 21. I try to call the hotel more than 10 min, no body answer the phone. I think is Michael received me. After I checked in and hotel phone still ringing, because they smoke outside.
Every time we looked for the room clerk they were not there. This included checking on and out. This also was the case for are other needs as well
Full kitchen with refrigerator
NO coffee maker!
The location is a bit off the main road, which meant the rooms did not have to deal with a lot of street noise.
They ran out of coffee a lot, so I had to wait for fresh coffee to be delivered to the breakfast nook. Need more choices. I don't like how you have to fetch your own dishes, they used to be left in the room but now you must get them when you check in.
Teresita the frond desk person was super nice. The hotel was clean.
The bed was hard as a ROCK and the recline chair doesnt recline. Room was humid.
We were put in a handicap room, the microwave was on a low shelf a few inches off the floor and the shower was not separated from the rest of the bathroom so the entire floor was wet after showering. Husband had an allergy attack in the room.
Room Cleaning service and Front desk staff is not having knowledge about check in & out timings.
Room wasn't as clean as it should be, bed was hard as a rock, T.V. wasn't positioned well enough to watch from bed, advertised FREE Wi-Fi meant a slow service- when you signed you could pay for better(faster) service. Won't be a future Extended Stay guest
what a surprise!! not at all what i expected
Able to sleep
Smell, packed in the lobby both night and morning, waited over 10 mins to check out.
The noise in hotel was unbelievable! Did not make for a restful night
The room had a fridge making a loud noise. I reported the issue to the staff, twice, they promised to take care of it, but never did
not enough dishes silverwear, cooking equipment. We needed two bed, one for mother and other for grown son
We met one person on the staff who was friendly and helpful - one of the housekeepers.
Front desk manager - rude and abrupt. A problem with the smoke detector hanging from its wires over the bed wasn't fixed for 2 days.
Front desk staff were very polite and helpful.
The housekeeping don't seem to clean the room evryday.
Location - near to shopping area, office location and peaceful
LOve the price and location have stayed here many times.
This visit the first room I was given had an unmade bed dirty dishes etc. It clearly had not been cleaned. The front desk clerk was very embarrassed and apologetic and I was given a different room. This room although it had been turned over was filthy.
The kitchen in the room
No fitness room an no business room
There were table lamp was not working. Iron was broken. I also have problem during checkin
The price was the best, if it was not for the price would never have stayed there.
The price of doing laundry, slipping and falling twice in the parking lot, key cards were always deleting themselves, you had to beg to get your room cleaned, internet was slow, fresh towels were are to come by, had to constantly ask for toilet paper.
Cleanliness of room
Network system backing up when arrived at 10:30 pm- so physical proof of reservations had to be shown to them--No food service till 6:30am--no clerk when left at 5 am for work.....paid alot for a room
The room was dirty. Bed sheets had stains. No soaps no dishwasher liquid no gym.
I moved to Chicago almost a year ago, and quickly found myself without a place to stay. I moved into Extended Stay America Vernon Hills, and stayed for a little over 3 months. It was extremely clean, with fantastic staff. They made me feel like my room was my real home. The size was perfect for my needs. It was also the cheapest weekly rate of anywhere in the area. I'm so glad I stayed here, and I am planning to stay here again in the very near future!
It was convenient location, and good price.
The cleanliness of the room was poor. There was a lot of hair in the bathtub the wastebasket under the sink had not been emptied, what looked like a long time. Dust on the desk, and one of the lights did not work on one of the desks.
I stayed at this Extended Stay America Hotel in March and April, 2012. I found the staff to be fantastic, especially the manager and one of the desk clerks. Unfortunately, the choices of television channels is quite lacking. They have a few Sports channels and a few News channels, which are all covering the same thing. The Showtime movie channels have series that play over and over, so there aren't many movies offered. There is only one kids' channel, which is Cartoon Network. If you are familiar with Cartoon Network it is more of a 'tween' channel or teenage channel. It had shows on there that I found inappropriate for a 7 year old. Therefore, as the channels were not kid friendly, she had nothing to watch. That is unacceptable for families with children who may want to watch at least a small amount of television during their stay. Secondly, while it is convenient to have washers and dryers on the premises, it costs $2.00 per each load to wash and $2.00 per each load to dry. That is the highest charge that I personally have seen at a hotel. And finally, during the 7th week of my stay I got an infestation of ants. Yes, extremely disgusting. As someone who was in my room a great deal of the time, to have someone come in to spray for the infestation 4 times within 6 days was a huge nuisance. Not to mention that I obviously needed to leave the room for some time after the spraying, due to the odor. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, however 2 days after the fourth spraying, by a pest control service, the ants were back. I reached out to the corporate office twice, as I had planned to stay much longer. I heard nothing from them. I cannot recommend this hotel.
the room was very clean and the staff was nice. No pool but otheriwise nice to be close to the mall.
We had to check out after 3 nights due to lack of sleep on the hard uncomfortable bed and other issues. You had to get your own towels at the desk since they provided once a week maid service. People at front desk were unable to work the phone messages(we missed several) and lacked knowledge of the area's reastaurants etc. The sink was plugged up and the room was drab and depressing. It was quiet since few people seemed to stay there. We were penalized for early checkout and paid much more than it was worth.
