Built in the 1920’s, the hotel showcases as much of the original architecture as possible, but the guest rooms include comforting touches of the contemporary that makes the guest experience one of relaxation. Rooms start at 175 square feet and range up to the King Executive unit, clocking in at 350 square feet overlooking Massachusetts Avenue. Comforts standard in all rooms include pillowtop bedding, Egyptian cotton linens, and a movable work table.

Famed for its Irish food, the Dubliner Pub is found in the hotel as well as provides in-room dining services. Classic fare like beef stew and fish and chips (served with Guinness, naturally) are just a small portion of the restaurant’s offerings throughout the day.

The central location on Capitol Hill means that guests have easy access to the city’s many attractions. The Washington Monument is only about a half-hour walk away from the front of the hotel. Families can enjoy a visit to one of the many famed museums in the surrounding area. The National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of American History, and the Smithsonian Museum of American History are all within two miles of the hotel.

10.0 Wonderful
Staff/Crew: Hotel staff was the perfect combination of professional and friendly, courteous. They were punctual with arranging taxis and the cleaning staff honored the DoNotDisturb notice. Location: The location is fantastic, being just across the street (kittycorner) to Union Station and close to the Capitol. Also the hotel is connected to a great little irish pub bar & restaurant, The Dubliner. Price: I don't know what the regular prices are, but in the 2023 Thanksgiving<-->Christmas holiday season, for two nights all-in I paid less than $350 (soup to nuts; taxes, fees, everything). That's a seriously good deal. All in all, the Phoenix Park Hotel hits on all cylinders and well above it's budgetary weight class. The quality, economics, and convenience of this hotel, combined with the aggressive pricing Amtrak is also pushing right now, the combo makes taking the train to visit our Capital (and it's Capitol) quite affordable.

10.0 Wonderful
Superb location as close to Union Station and Metro. Excellent restaurant, The Dubliner, connected to hotel. Welcoming front desk staff & porter. Comfortable rooms, clean, mini fridge, spacious shower.
A
9.7 Wonderful
Pros:And the hotel has always been a nice place to stay and relax
Cons:This particular time that I was at the hotel to check in clerk gave me a very small room I was very unsatisfied with this room I’ve stayed here many times and everybody else always gives me rooms they have a nice space the one thing
A
8.8 Very good
Pros:Close to train. Cabs right out front if needed. Great value for the price. Convenient having a bar/food right in the hotel. Coffee provided in the morning. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Umbrella and one robe provided in the room.
Cons:Tiny elevators. Room was small. Only 1 tiny window in the room and we had no view. Shower door didn't stay closed. The water was $4 a bottle in the room. There was no dresser but rather 2 drawers located in the closet.
C
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:Location - walking distance from Union Station Staff - helpful at check-in Price - reasonable rate Rooms - small but just updated, look / feel great, stylish - felt like I was paying MUCH more
Cons:No downside - rooms small but decorated so well that didn't notice or hinder the stay Arrived late, left early so didn't have any down-side to the stay Free coffee only - but liked the coffee lounge
A
7.1 Good
Pros:Location, the staff is friendly
Cons:Draft from windows (they are not sealed),the bathroom is cold (no heating lamp there), the heating blows air straight to bed (not comfortable at all especially after taking a bath) no coffee maker in the room, and no hot drinking water in the lobby after 11 am.
A
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:The proximity to downtown D.C. and the monuments was perfect! We loved that there were a few coffee shops and restaurants nearby, especially the Dubliner, an Irish restaurant and bar, that was situated right under the hotel itself. Staff was incredibly nice and the hotel was very clean - we plan to stay here whenever we come back to visit!
Cons:The only downfall is that walking around the area at night can be a little questionable, especially going to or coming from downtown D.C. It's eerily quiet.
A
9.4 Wonderful
Pros:My room was apparently newly remodeled, and was very modern, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. The location - just two blocks from the parks surrounding the Capitol on the senate side, are hard to beat. It's a short block walk to Union Station if arriving via train or Metro. There is very little to the hotel other than the rooms - I didn't use the fitness center or the Dubliner restaurant next door, but if you are just looking for a convenient, impeccable room this is a great choice. I'll definitely return.
Cons:Via the phone and their web site, they required a 3-day minimum stay. Fortunately booking via Kayak let me book a single night, or I would have had to stay somewhere else.
A
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:Staff were very accommodating. Room was rather small, but very comfortable and immaculate. Restaurant and pub attached to hotel and cafe just down the corner. 5 minute walk to Union Station.
Cons:Only thing missing was coffee maker in the room.
A
8.0 Very good
Pros:The room was beautiful and clean. The location was excellent. All the hotel staff were Grundy and courteous.
Cons:Other room's room service trays sitting in the hallway for more than 24 hrs. Unbelievable that they charged $4 for the water bottles in the room. Tried to go for a drink in the pub, staff were not attentive; sat for over 15 mins without getting asked what we wanted or asked about drinks; simply left and no one noticed.
