Everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. The room was very large with two queen-size beds and a sleeper sofa! The lobby has a comfortable seating area which includes a bar and tables and chairs. The free breakfast was better than most.
Pricing a bit more than I would have liked but...it was a weekend.
The room was clean
My wife wasn't pleased with ripped furniture or the cleanliness of the lobby carpet and we both were displeased with the pool area
Room, location and breakfast were great.
Advertised double queen beds but really only has full mattresses. Staff told us they had only kings or queens but they hadn't measured the mattresses and didn't seem to know the difference.
the room was extremely nice and spacious. The layout made the room seem bigger than it was. The hotel was also easy to find and very convenient to Great Lakes Naval Base. This was the reason why we stayed at SpringHill.
The layout and modern feel of the room was very nice! We enjoyed the microwave and fridge in the room- able to keep water bottles cold for our hot Great America stay.
First night my husband had a black ant biting his arm. Floor under the head board was littered with food scraps from previous guests. Front desk said they would clean this for us. Next night- more ants.
i loved the hotel overall
i didn't like that the tv was in the worst possible spot in the room. also, the shower took about a half hour to get to a decent temperature, it either started and stayed ice cold or started and stayed scorching hot, it was the worst part of the stay
The room was just clean enough to say the housekeeper opened the door between guests.
Location, service, friendly employees. Cleanliness and overall stay.
We were booked in a handicapped room and no one in our party was handicapped.
It was really clean .
Personal were awesome and overall rooms were awesome
Great Hotel. Second time to stay there and would stay there again.
Distance to Navy RTC. Great breakfast.
Mattress felt weak and the guest bed had stains on the mattress cover.
Very nice and clean. New and updated with a great indoor pool. Great breakfast and helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
I love the hotel when I first walk through the front door. It was clean, beautiful, and friendly. The room was very nice. My wife recommend it great choice.
I didn't like I had to leave.
Very nice room with lots of space. Bed was very comfortable and loved the shower.
staff wasn't always at front desk, though was somewhat understandable considering there were not a lot of people staying. We ordered food from a nearby restaurant and they came right to our room . . . I would have preferred picking up in the lobby.
I loved the apperance and size of the room, the bed was comfy (but with the noise it was hard to enjoy) and the shower was AMAZING!! The bar was an added bonus. It was close to the base which was perfect. I would stay again but not on the bottom floor!
We were on the bottom floor and the room was pretty cold the thermostat was even set at 75 and it was still cold. The walls and doors must have been made out of cardboard you could hear every single noise around and above us. So didn't sleep well.
Nice Room. Breakfast was ok. Lots of parking. Has a pool.
Most of the staff was very helpful. Some, not so much.
Too loud! Too many large groups of children's sports team there. The hallways were noisy. Hard to sleep
Great A/C in the room, clean bathroom, good location, free breakfast, quiet.
It isn't really a suite, just a normal room with a microwave oven and a sofabed. Easily slept two, plus room for 1-2 on sofabed.
Nice breakfast and staff
Everything was well worn, lobby and room furniture should have been replaced years ago. Sofa bed was horrible.
employees were nice
pool area was nasty, room carpet was stained,in the bathroom toilet paper holder hit me in the knees and the towel bar was right over the toilet paper,in the shower there was only one little towel bar for the two of us to share didn't work very well
The location is perfect for attending events at RTC Great Lakes. You are about 5-10 minutes away. The cost was great. The look of the room was unique. Breakfast. Has a bar, and the bar staff was way more useful than the front desk staff.
The desk staff was average and the bathrooms. The layout of the bathrooms looked really cool at first, but the layout with usability was not my favorite. The pool was small. Good internet costs money. Free internet will only load email, facebook etc.
the room was nice
the breakfast area was very crowded, the shower leaked, there was visible water marks on the ceiling.
The guy that checked us in was very nice.
The soap dish and bathroom was dirty. uck and the side table had paper super glued to it.I think they should of removed the table or offered us a different room.
The hotel was very nice, clean and the room was a nice size for our family. I booked a suite with two queens and a sofa bed as we had 3 adults and 3 small children. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. A huge walkin closet. Breakfast had a nice selection with fruit, eggs, waffles, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, juice and coffee. They have a shuttle for $3 pp that will take you over to the RTC for graduation and I recommend this as the traffic is bad by the base. Walmart, Starbucks and a few restaurants are right across the street.
So I was notified that I was required to travel to the Waukegan, IL area approx two weeks before I actually had to travel. I booked my hotel room right away, at this hotel, since it was close to my business meeting location. By the way, I should tell you that I'm an elite member of the Marriott hotel brand. Anyhoo, I made the reservation over the telephone. I told the very friendly and helpul lady that I required a King bed (as I'm quite tall). She said no problem, booked me with a King bed, provided me with my company rate (excellent!) and would forward me an email containing the details of my reservation. All was good.... Until I arrived at the hotel. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and quickly assigned me my room. I went to my room and immediately noticed that it was a two-double bed room. Now, I am not a fussy person, I am NOT a hotel snob, and have stayed in MANY a hotel all over the world; however, I don't do double beds b/c my feet hang over the end and it's not comfortable (hence the reso for a king bed). Also, I once broke a toe from kicking the extra bed in the middle of the night when stumbling to the washroom in the dark (who put that bed there anyway?). So, I went down to the front desk to inquire about my room assignment and they looked into the system to see if there were king rooms available. Apparently the king rooms were 'assigned' to others that had not yet arrived. They told me that they couldn't provide me with a King room. And that my reservation was only a 'REQUEST'. Now, I have heard this before when the hotel is sold out for king rooms, they assign you a double room with a request for a king in case if they have any cancellations; however, the reservation lady did not tell me this when I was booking, as she said they had king rooms available. So I was just stumped. I asked why that happened and the front desk night manager said that I'd have to book a month ahead to get the king room. Well, obviously there is some miscommunica...
The hotel was great, clean and very welcoming. Check in and check out were a breeze. Everyone that I encountered were very friendly. I would stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel for my son's Navy Graduation. Excellent price, very spacious and modern. It felt like we were staying somewhere more expensive. We loved the details and styling of the bathroom, the bedlinens, and furniture. The Queen beds were extremely comfortable, and the pullout was even comfortable for a not-too-heavy person(my teenage daughter). The room divider with office/style computer desk with sliding window was great. We also enjoyed having a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and other kitchen extras.(popcorn, plates, cutlery) The flatscreen lcd tv was awesome, as was the free wireless internet. The staff was very helpful with directions and help finding restaurants, malls, etc. The indoor pool/hottub and excercise room was also very nice. The free breakfast was great-hot waffles, etc. The lobby/lounge was very hip and spa-like. Actually, the whole decor was rather spa-like, which I guess just made the whole atmosphere that much more pleasant. Great Job Marriott!
I have to say this hotel made for an excellent Graduation trip. It was close to the Great Lakes Naval Station and was surrounded by many good restaurant choices. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was really courteous and helpful. We had several questions, and were about the area, and were given good directions as well as coupons for local restaurants, and delivery options. The beds were very comfortable, the set-up of the room was good. There were four of us, & it was not inconvenient in the least. The breakfast was great, and there were good choices for everyone. I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the area, and would stay again.
My husband and I visited this hotel and were very happy with our stay. The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. If you choose to stay here it will definitely enjoy your stay and awake refreshed each day!!
In spite of a slight problem with check-in, our experience was very good. We were given the wrong room at first, but that was quickly taken care of. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the facilities are great. Also the employees were all friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change would be with the breakfast. At this particular hotel a big part of the business on the weekend has to do with Navy families visiting to see their sailor graduate from basic. This means they have to leave the hotel by 6 am. Breakfast does not start until 6:30. How about starting breakfast at 5 am on graduation day? I think that would be very helpful for evryone, as well as getting to meet others who have family graduating as well.
