May’s holiday weekend traditionally marks the beginning of summer – and summer trips. To get you better set up for planning your upcoming getaways, here are some quick hacks and knowledge bites direct from our data.

Flying
If you can work remote/take time off, your best bet is to take off the Saturday before the holiday weekend, you’re traveling within or outside of the US. Saturday the 20th is technically the cheapest day to travel and could possibly save you 8-9% on airfare vs. traveling over the holiday.

Renting a car
If you need to rent your ride, try to schedule your car for pickup the Tuesday before the weekend. This is the cheapest day to rent a car for that week – and our advice doesn’t change whether you’re renting in the US or abroad.
