I want candy.

Now that spooky season is here, we feel as though we’re being haunted by the fun-sized candy aisles. You know what else would be sweet? Skipping Thanksgiving to jet set to a new international city – keep reading for alternative places to go for turkey day and the latest travel news.

The pre-check

  • Scrapped advisories.

The CDC recently removed its COVID health advisories for international travel due to a lack of reporting and testing data around the world.
  • Is this the end?

For COVID travel restrictions in Canada, yes. The Canadian gov removed all testing, isolation and quarantine entry requirements this past week.
  • When you miss summer already…

Delta announced that it would be expanding service at several US airports to include more European destinations next summer.
  • Don’t cramp our style.

Or our legs, for that matter. Here is a ranking of domestic and international airlines that have the most legroom in economy class.
  • Recalculating.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Ian, many cruise lines have had to make adjustments to their itineraries – here’s what you need to know.

Celebrate Thanksgiving abroad for less.
You know what would be better than seeing everyone you went to high school with the night before Thanksgiving? Going somewhere new for the holiday. With flight prices being what they are (ie. expensive), why not fly to an international location for the same cost? Meet the F*cket List: our guide to finding alternative destinations for the holiday. Here are some places you could go to for the same cost – or less – as going home for Thanksgiving:

  • From San Francisco…

Instead of going to Florida this Thanksgiving, you could use that time off to go to Germany or Greece – it’s cheaper to fly from SFO to Berlin ($589)* than it is to fly to Tampa ($596)*. It’s also cheaper to fly to Athens ($684)* than to Orlando ($687)*.
  • From Washington DC…

Take a break from the District by heading south to Colombia instead of west – it’s cheaper to fly from DC to Barranquilla ($480)* than it is to fly to Denver ($482)*. You could also head to Bogotá ($500)* instead of Las Vegas ($520)*.
  • From Denver…

Skip the turkey this holiday and fly to Mexico – it’s cheaper to fly from Denver to Mexico City ($429)* than it would be to fly to New York ($478)* this Thanksgiving. Or fly to Guadalajara ($480)* instead of Washington, DC ($491)*.
  • From Miami…

Give thanks south of the border this year – it’s cheaper to fly from Miami to San José, Costa Rica ($453)* than it is to fly to Savannah, Georgia ($458)*. If Peru is on your radar, you can fly to Lima ($399)* for cheaper than it would be to fly to Austin ($425)*.

Tricks of the trade

Which fast lane do you pick?

We know that TSA Pre Check and Global Entry are two different programs that can help speed up your time at the airport – but how do you know which is right for you? Our latest blog explores the differences between the two programs, as well as which could be a better fit depending on where and how much you travel.
