They basically blamed me for being late and not being there on time. Two others from my flight were allowed to make the connection but told me that they gave my seat away because I was late. We all showed up at the same time from the late flight. I talked to 3 people including customer service and did not get a single “I’m Sorry”. Do they not communicate with each other when a flight is late and they have passengers for connections running late? They told me they don’t talk. The best they can do is put me standby for 9:30 flight and if I cannot get on that flight I have to wait until morning. My daughter is in a competition tomorrow morning and thanks to Alaska Airlines I’m going to miss it. I’m sitting here writing this review, paying for a dinner I should not be paying for and probably searching out a hotel room until morning when I can catch a flight. Unbelievable the lack of empathy."

Pros: "Polite, if overworked, staff. Seating on the new 900-model airplanes is pretty good. Really like that a passenger can sign up for a seat at no extra cost as the time of the booking. Do not change this! Really like that staff get families and wheel-chair bound folks on board first. I fit into neither of these categories, but it is the right thing to do."
Cons: "Boarding inefficient; only one person to take tickets as passengers are trying to board the plane. Why not have 2? One Alaska Air person on each side of the runway. One hour delay on return flight. Potentially it could have been another 3 hours. And the plane would have flown in to Oakland or San Jose, not SFO as scheduled. At first the passengers were not told why. Later the crew told us that it was due to fires in No. California and that instrument landings were being required at SFO which meant longer times. With so many Americans traveling these days, provide more seating. Even folding chairs or fold-down seating along the windows would be helpful. Provide more outlets to charge electronic gear while waiting. For faster plane loading, recommend line up by rows such as, yes that one, Southwest does. 900-model airplanes: Lighting is lousy. Fold-down trays cannot be pulled closer to the seat :-("

Alaska stuck to their policies (you know, those pages of microscopic text that is written by lawyers for sole reason of screwing the customer.) I just felt really abused; told them to keep the useless "credit". I booked with Delta. At what point does a company forget who they are supposed to be serving? Perhaps the people that are actually giving you money and keeping you in business?"

Pros: "There was a huge delay due to weather. The plane didn't take off until almost 2am, however the crew kept everyone up to date and did everything they could. Upon arrival I had an apology email from Alaska with a discount, this amazed me as usually airlines don't offer you anything when the delay isn't "mechanical", and even then you usually have to complain. I felt this made Alaska's customer service memorable as they went above and beyond."

Flight was supposed to go at 8:50PM. Last minute it got delayed until 5:30AM
Everything was orderly and easy going. Was worried reading about all the bad behaved passengers, but crew was kind but stern in their warnings. Anyway, all was as I had hoped.

My son flew to Seoul from SFO on a Hawaiian Airlines flight that had a layover in Honolulu. When he got to Seoul, he found out they had lost his bag. He had to file a claim and two days later, he still hasn't received it. When he filed a claim, they told him to contact them if he hadn't heard from them in 4-5 days (!). In following up, the number they gave him didn't work, and so he emailed them, and they said they haven't gotten the bag yet and they will contact him when they hear anything (!). So my son has to start his summer program in Seoul without any clothes or his back-up toiletry supplies, although he was able to pick up a few necessities to tide him over. NO offer of emergency toiletries; NO assistance. So the moral of the story is: yeah, fly Hawaiian Airlines if you can carry everything on with you, or you don't mind dealing with poor customer support and no clothes for a four-week stay in a country you've never been to before.

Pros: "The staff were above and beyond. Organized, on-time boarding. The pilots were great. The seats were nice. The tropical beverage offered was lovely. We had a toddler on board a few rows up who either screeched or cried the whole time, as in 5 of the almost 6 hour flight. A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR EARPLUGS. The parents did their best, and at one point I was in the aisle with mom and baby during some turbulence and the child got sick. I let the attendant who was serving drinks know about the situation and he didn't miss a beat and helped mom and baby recover, and got the area cleaned up. It might not sound like much but it was the above and beyond that most people don't realize flight attendants take care of routinely. I appreciated that."
Cons: "The sugary breakfast. I was so surprised that literally nothing in the breakfast did not contain lots of sugar. The bread was inedibly sweet, the nonfat yogurt was overly sweet and had a weird chemical taste. Please at least low fat. Grapes, one of the highest sugar fruits, were the only thing I was able to eat. Please consider offering low/no sugar breakfast options, and wheat free options. I would have loved a hard boiled egg and some cheese and fruit. Couldn't really figure out the entertainment screen. Couldn't get the movies to load. I wasn't that interested in the screen but others might be. Tip: the jack is in the armrest."
Cons: "When I checked in i asked the agent to help me board early since I was carrying a fragile musical instrument. She said check back later. I had no seat assigned and was told I would be seated after all families were taken care of. I waited and waited and finally when everyone was boarded, I checked one last time because I was the only person left in the waiting area and the gate agent totally forgot about me. So she assigned me to a seat that had a wall in front of it and no storage space in the seat in front of me. I was livid. Thankfully I didn’t have to check the instrument but the hassle was a nightmare I really wanted to avoid."

On my way back to HI, she was in my flight and apologized (I didn't even notice her since I was preoccupied) - I told her it was busy and I saw her working it and it was okay. She offered her help in anything and I thought that was super sweet, then she said.. I wont forget this time. Nice touch"

The airline staff did not say a word why the flight was cancelled, but they were kindly enough to put me on a United Airline flight at 1:15pm on the same day. But the UA flight got delayed and delayed, I didn't get on the airplane until 5pm on 9/23. This was such a terrible experience, I wasted 9 hours at the airport and had to cancel so many activities I have planned on 9/23."

Cons: "It was frustrating that the crew would announce things like the private island that only one part of the plane's passengers could see and which had no bearing on our flight. Then it was translated into Japanese so took even longer while some people were trying to finish a movie. I was really disappointed by the small plane. We purposefully chose not to fly on a Chinese airline from China but chose Hawaiian instead because we thought the plane would be bigger. We won't be using Hawaiian again from Asia."

Booked AVML meals in Premium Economy. The check in agent reconfirmed this. Also she said this was a standard offering in the route. Turns out they didn’t have AVML in a 10+ hour flight. Unacceptable
No amenity kits and meals weren’t as good as before. Other airlines now have a full meal son o reason why Virgin Atlantic can’t. Going to stick to BA.

Cons: "First time flying with a partner through Delta, so they stuck us on a Virgin Atlantic flight meaning I didn't get my free Delta check in bag (a fee of $60 each way) when I have gotten it every other flight I have ever taken with them. It was also 2 whole hours late in boarding."

My next flight was at 18:55 and I asked Virgin Atlantic agent am I allowed to stay in the room until time for my flight comes, he confirmed yes and gave me breakfast, lunch, and dinner voucher. However, next day around 12 I got call from Front Desk that I have to leave my room right away because it's time to chack out and If I want to stay longer I have to pay. I called Virgin Atlantic agancy again and the agent run my information and said to me I can stayin the room longer. After that I called front desk to confirm that but they said they didn't hear anything from Virgin Atlantic and I have to leave the room by 1pm. All of this was really unpleasant!"

Cons: "I didn't make it to Siem Reap because the first leg of the trip from IAD to London was cancelled by Virgin Atlantic after it was fully boarded. The excuse was that a flight attendant had food poisoning and was unable to fly and so the entire flight was cancelled. The Virgin team seemed unconcerned and showed NO sense of urgency to try and get people rebooked. Their solution was to rebook everyone on an evening flight the next day. If a passenger was only going to London, that was probably fine. But for people with connecting flights -- or like me with multiple connecting flights -- that wasn't acceptable."

Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."
Pros: "The seats were the widest with the most cushion and padding I've ever had on any flight, I think all their seats were like that. The plane we were on had more leg room than your average flight. Also the backs of the chair were very tall, leaving even mpre head room perfect for tall people . I fly a lot and sometimes my knees hit the seat in front of me or when they recline it shoves the tray to close to you. Not on this flight there was enough room for me to lay back in the seat had the adjustable headrest that went up and down and also curved in to hold your head from falling on your neighbor next to you. Love the fact they had the USB plug-in in front of you. And the crew constantly kept coming through to empty trash and offer beverages. The plane was clean bathrooms in front and back of the airplane. Over all quiet engine and we were above the wings. Temperature good."
Cons: "The crew member that was checking in people at the gate would talk so fast we could barely understand what he was saying on the overhead announcement. I was traveling with someone who was hearing impaired so we were unaware of that they were getting ready to board. The electronic TV monitor wasn't updating to say boarding to notify people that would be helpful for the hearing impaired. Or--if a crew member is muffled on the announcement or talks too fast you can't understand or know what's going on. The most frustrating thing for me and my daughter we were both expecting to use Delta online entertainment. There are no monitor screens in the seats in front of us on this plane. So we were able to use our phones, but it would not download and once It finally downloaded we couldn't upload any of the movies. Connection speed way too slow. The warning said there were too many people on it at that time. Also I like it when they offer free headphones for people that don't have them. An example that would benefit people that don't want to listen to loud people on the plane or babies that are crying."
