We saved about 50% from the hotel we had originally thought to book! The unit was big and clean, an amazing value for the money. Fantastic location, quiet, and the booking, check-in and check-out were all so easy. No crazy rules, no cleaning deposits or added fees! We would definitely look to stay here again on a future trip to Maui! Just wish it had wifi....
Our 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom oceanview condo # I-212 was fine overall. However, the king-size bed in the master bedroom was WAY TOO HARD!!! The condo was pretty dusty on the shutter doors that closed off the loft master suite and some of the lovered doors were coming off their tracks but OVERALL, the condo was fine.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Maui Kam for 10 days with the entire family including the grandparents. The grounds were quite clean and the kitchen was stocked with just about any appliance you might need. The pools were quite adequate, especially since we had very young kids as well as two teens. When we cramped their style they just traveled to the other pool or to the beach across the street. The condos were quiet at night and everyone seems to keep to themselves. We had a great time. The bathrooms were nice, the only problem we had was a leaky air conditoning unit that buzzed because we had it running a lot. The cable was a bit snowy but hey..... we're in Maui and you shouldn't be watching tv anyway. We discovered the cheaper grocery store down the street after speding 50.00 at the safeway for five items. Do y9our safe a favor and shop at Costco by the airport or the local Longs down the street. the Maui Kam was great and we hope to be back soon. We were NOT disappointed . Aloha Mike and Brook B. We stayed in L108 for 8 days this past Dec. 09 and it was great. Could not have asked for a better condo. Also location is very good, close to many beaches and great places to eat. I would recommend stopping at Wal-Mart or Costco once you arrive and stock up on breakfast & lunch items that way you only have to eat dinner out. Most restraunts are very proud of their food and like to charge you for it (but heck your on vacation and must say all the places we ate were great). Maui is great and so many neat sites and beaches to see, the Whales were in and we saw them from different points on land and did a boat trip also (very neat). We plan on coming back again next yr. and instead of 8 days doing 12 and will for sure stay at same condo's. Great people and all very friendly. Snokeling and some of the close beaches was also great, nice reef's and turtles pleanty to see. I would also if it's your first time to Maui recommed getting the book Maui Revealed it explains many great places and is right on how it recommeds and or does not approve of certain places, restraunts etc.. Aloha
We chose to stay here because of the price, and because it had a kitchen. We did not really end up using the kitchen because there was so much great food to eat nearby. our room was awesome, fully loaded with anything we would need and a washer and dryer. the beaches right across the street are beautiful. the only lacking thing of the room was the tvs were not hotel quality buty who goes to maui to watch TV> we plan on staying here again next year. thanks a ton!
I ARRIVED AT THE RESORT AFTER CHECK-IN TIME. THE HOTEL LEFT MY KEYS IN A LOCKED BOX. IT WAS VERY CONVIENCE FOR ME, I HAD CALLED AHEAD OF TIME TO LET THEM KNOW THAT MY FLIGHT WOULD ARRIVE AFTER CHECK-IN TIME AND THERE WERE NO PROBLEM THE CLERK JUST GAVE ME A CODE SO WHEN I ARRIVE I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET INTO MY ROOM. MY HOTEL STAY WAS MORE THAT I EVERY EXPECTED. MY ROOM HAD MORE IN IT THAN ANY OTHER RESORT THAT I HAVE EVERY STAYED. THE PLACE WAS FANTASTIC AND ME AND MY GUEST HAD A BALL STAYING THERE AND IS LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING BACK AGAIN!
Just came back from our vacation where we stayed 5 nights from August 29 to September 3, 2008. Reading the reviews I was afraid to get disappointed with a poorly appointed condo but it has exceeded our expectations! The condo was well stocked, had all the kitchen appliances, you could even bake a cake if you wanted to. We found beach towels and mats, no beach chair or cooler though. It had a huge flat screen TV and the house was very tastefully decorated. We passed by a real estate office and one of the similar units was listed for $$$$$$$. We did not have ocean view but we were on the second floor which offered more privacy and a huge patio. The front desk was helpful and polite. We arrived late at night and the security guard escorted us to the office to find our keys. The location was 7 miles from Kahului and close to shops, outlets, supermarkets. The ocean was walking distance. Watch out with overbuying food, you can't finish everything! Also, it's a better deal to purchase the activities with all the discount coupons from the airport. Bring your GPS, it helps you get around.
Check in was easy, the 5 Palms was recommended for bar snacks and happy hour, it turned out to be our favorite place. It was right on the beach, the sunset was awesome and people so friendly and helpful. The beach was right across the street and so beautiful. The condo was a large one bedroom two bath (D104), two great lani's, two large sliding doors in family area. It was stocked with all the comforts of home towels, sheets, pillows, blankets, dishes, small and large appliances. They made it possible for us to be one condo away from our niece, we made the trip for her wedding on Makena Beach. They do offer a late check out if you have a late flight and your condo is not booked. We did not have time to use the pool area or grills, but heard only good things about them. The condo is centrally located to shopping, dinning, and most tourist trips were 30-45 minutes away. You must try Kona coffee, drive Hana Highway (pack a lunch and drinks) and visit Lahania. Take lots of pictures and just enjoy the beautiful views, beaches, sunsets. We have visited Oahu and Maui is our favorite by far, we want to return and finish our site seeing, so much to do and we had so little time arriving on a Friday, wedding on a Monday and leaving on a Tuesday. We could spend another week in Maui easy. The people were so nice and friendly, this was everyone not just a few. If you visit the Winery, take some snacks, they do have a cafe (very good food), but it is a long drive. Aloha and enjoy, its a dream come true. Can't wait to go back!
We checked in after hours and the key pick-up box was easy to find. Our unit was outstanding, recently remodeled and very clean. Everything worked properly. There was a stash of boogie boards, snorkels, chairs and beach umbrellas that were our constant companions at the beach. The two pools were nice enough, but neither hot tub had functioning jets. A well stocked kitchen and a barbeque grill just outside our unit made cooking a snap! There were four of us (wife and two kids), and the layout made both family time and privacy easy to accomodate. The location is a bit off the beaten path (I consider this a plus), and just across from Kamaole Beach III. I'd recommend a short drive or long walk to Kamaole II for swimming and little kid waveplay, the break was bigger if you drove south a few miles. Checkout was a breeze. I'd recommend this condo for anyone interested in a laid-back vacation experience.
Loved the place, beautiful well cared for and had everything we needed to made it a home away form home
The place we stayed in was very run down..TV had been removed and not replaced, charged $10/day for Internet, patio was full of trash & dirty, AC went out and no one would repair it, no hairdryer, check-out is at 10:00AM.
Great price for the hotel. Very spacious, a little out dated in decor. The bathroom needs to be renovated. A bigger TV in our condo would have been nice-smaller then a 19''. The pool and hot tub were great as well as the suana, though small.
