Low key, a little offbeat, young clientèle, not overly touristy or crowded part of town, but plenty to do and eat, and easy walking access to BART, etc.
They have a practice facility for bands in the basement. The (repetative) music stopped well before bedtime, but might annoy some people (I didn't find it to be a problem).
Shared restroom not clean. No hair dryer in the room.1) There were human poop 'ON' the toilet in the shared restroom. 2) Don't know why front desk did not open on Saturday and the hotel kept hair dryer at front desk, so I couldn't have it. 3) Can't believe Priceline sold hostel room on its website. It's misleading. Never wanna book a hostel on this website.
Good value hotel. If it was any costlier then it won't be worth it, but at this time its very reasonably priced.
One toilet room and one shower/toilet combo room for the entire floor. I had to wait for a shower twice, but only for about 10 minutes each time.Small clean room with a small sink and fridge in the room. Other reviewers complaining about the music from below must be from the country, as a city-dweller I had no problem with it and even was staying on the first floor.
No separate bathroom, only share with other guests.
parking, cleanliness, wi fi
slamming doors, no lobby so tenants loiter on narrow steps, no elevatorserves its purpose well for the money.
Bed was very comfortable.
Hot water was not enough hot in the bathroom. I caught a cold.
The hotel is in a great location in. A few minutes drive from Union Square and near a lot of dining and shopping, and has a few parking lots available very nearby.
I did not like that the entrance to the hotel always smelled of marijuana. The hotel hosts a recording studio downstairs, and the smell makes its way into the hallways and guest rooms. This hotel was worth the price for how close it is to Union Square and public transport optionswith out being xxx a night. I paid less than xxx/night for this hotel. It is European style, meaning that there are no elevators, sjared public spaces and no bathrooms in the rooms. They had a few bathrooms/showers per floor which were always clean and usually available. Some people complained about homeless people and the hotel being in a sketchy area. They have obviously never been to in any 'downtown' setting. We only saw one person sleeping on the ground in front of a neighboring business, but we walked aroun...
It met my needs for a single night stay in town for work at a reasonable price. For a small European style hotel with shared bath, it was fine. Although it was not a problem for me, I do think people considering this hotel should be aware that the downstairs is a studio rental space for musicians. During the day, it was quite loud making it unpleasant to stay in the room. The music continued until a short time after 11:00 p.m., though it was very quiet by the time I had returned to my room at 10:00, and I was gone the next day before the musicians came in again. As I said, the music did not bother me except in the afternoon, but anyone considering the hotel should know about this beforehand.
That it was clean and the location was goldYou Get what you pay for. The hotel is clean, the bed where good, it was good location. I would definitly choose this again!
