Starting in May 2007, a new eight-level parking garage is being built to provide additional parking for all International passengers. Until this garage is completed, parking near Terminal 1 can be a bother. Many passengers find it easiest to use the Valet Parking service, though it is more costly, in order to avoid the construction and new parking arrangements. Valet parking ranges from $55 (49 USD) for one day to $192 (170 USD) for a week. Rates are in Australian dollars and include all taxes.

Long Term Parking

The International Remote Long-Term Parking Lot offers parking for those who will be traveling for more than one day. This lot charges $24 (21 USD) for one day, $35 (31 USD) for two days, $49 (43 USD) for three days, $64 (56.60 USD) for four days, $79 (69.90 USD) for five days, $94 (83 USD)for six days, or $109 (96 USD) for a full week. Stays longer than one week will accrue an additional $11 (9.75 USD) per day to the weekly rate. Those needing covered parking must pay an additional $4 (3.50 USD) per day.

Those flying from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 need to use the Domestic Long Term Car Park for extended stays. Rates for this garage are the same as those in the International Long Term Parking lot.

Discount Airport Parking

There is currently no discount parking available at Terminal 1. The Short-Stay Garage is the only option for those who will be at the airport for less than twenty-four hours. Rates start at $7 (6.20 USD) for a half hour and go as high as $41 (36.25 USD) for no more than twenty-four hours. The lowest rates are found at the Remote Long-Term Parking Lot off of Ross Smith Avenue.

Those flying from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 have to use the Domestic Multi-Story Car Park for stays of less than a day. Rates are the same in this garage.

Handicapped Parking

Handicapped parking areas are found across the road from Terminal 2. Only those showing a valid handicapped sticker or plate are authorized to park in this area. Free shuttle buses can then take passengers to their terminal. Shuttle buses have wheelchair lifts. In addition, handicapped passengers can be dropped off curbside in the marked areas. These areas are clearly marked with handicap signs and have wheelchair ramps leading into the terminals.

Airport Hotel Parking

Airport Sydney International Inn, Ibis Hotel, Mercure Hotel, and Stamford Plaza all offer shuttle service, some free, to and from all terminals at Sydney Airport. Airport Sydney offers free parking for five days and then additional days cost $13 (11.50 USD) per day. Passengers should check with their hotel to see if parking packages are available.
