Website

Tokyo Haneda Airport is about 10 miles south of Tokyo and, though it has a small international terminal, it primarily services domestic flights from its two main terminals: Terminals 1 and 2. This airport used to be called the Tokyo International Airport until the Tokyo Narita Airport opened in 1978 to service the majority of international flights in and out of Japan. However, Haneda still remains one of Japan's busiest airport. Airlines that operate out of the Tokyo Haneda Airport are: Air Do, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Japan Transocean Air, Skymark Airlines, Skynet Asia Airways and StarFlyer.

Directions

To get to the Tokyo Haneda Airport from Tokyo, get on the Shuto Expressway and follow signs to the airport.

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 has seven floors, but most airline activity is conveniently divided into a 1st floor arrivals area and a 2nd floor departures area. The basement or ground floor houses the monorail station and has access to the Keikyu Railways station, as well as a walkway to Terminal 2. Floors 3 through 6 are devoted to shops and restaurants while the very top floor (above floor 6) is an observation deck. Terminal 1 services JAL, Skymark Airlines and Star Flyer.

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is similar to Terminal 1, but somewhat smaller with six floors. Again, most airline activity occurs on a 1st floor arrivals area and a 2nd floor departures area. Also, the basement level houses another monorail station and has access to the Keikyu Railways station and to Terminal 1. The 3rd and 4th floors have a few shops and restaurants, while the top level is also an observation deck. Airlines that operate out of Terminal 2 are Air Do, All Nippon Airways and Skynet Asia Airways.

International Terminal

The International Terminal is much smaller and only handles international charter flights. Though it has some guest services and amenities, you will have to go to one of the larger terminals to access most of them, including the train stations. A free shuttle can take you from this terminal to either of the other ones.
