Pros: The staff was amazing helpful especially Anthony the assistant manager who was going out of his way to understand our needs and come up with some customised itineraries. We also enjoyed the amazing views and the feel at home atmosphere. Will definitely come back.
Cons: We were using Google maps and missed the entrance dirt road and had to stop on several occasions to ask for directions. The road is in very bad condition and you really need a car in good condition to get in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with the most amazing view. Comfortable rooms and great homecooked food. Quite a long drive on a rough dirt road but definitely worth it as the place is so secluded and peaceful.
Cons: Nice hiking trails as well, although for one of them (New Beginnings) the trail markers end half way.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything about it is stunning! The Hosts/management and staff are awesome and try the best to make sure you are happy. Our room (big room with fireplace) was superb, evenings with the fire is extra special, firewood etc supplied to you each night. The food was amazing especially the 3 course dinner, each and everything evening out of the 6 which we stayed had a delicious treat in store! The views are breathtaking from the cottage and it’s a very relaxing environment.
Cons: The small drive on the dirt road getting to the venue takes some time if with a normal car as one must drive slowly, alittle patience though does wonders.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were super friendly. Loved the fact that there was free tea and coffee, plus an honesty bar. View is stunning, wish we had time to explore more but only had one night on way back to Pretoria. Would recommend for anyone who likes walking or hiking.
Cons: The whole lodge could do with a little bit of updating, though for some the fact that it is a little bit dated probably adds to the charm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a bigger room and even though I didn't indicate that I was a vegetarian with the booking, the chef made me a special delicious vegetarian main meal in the spur of the moment.
Cons: I honestly cannot fault anything about our stay, even the drive on a gravel road to the property was scenic :D

Cons: Can't think of anything! At a push would say bedrooms could be on the cold side but lovely to have open fire in living room of our house and real bonus that this was relaid every day and more logs supplied.

Cons: We loved everything but the water heater could have provided more hot water for a family and the living room furniture could have been more comfortable... we were there in winter time so spent more time in front of the fire warming up than you would during the summer.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: extra costs and higher costs
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and friendly staff. Food was amazing and consistent...5 stars
Cons: Nothing, everything was great

Cons: Barman could be abit more friendlier - very serious. Fridge could've been put on prior to arrival.

6.3 Good
Pros: Kwaggashoek park was a wonderful valley with animals, dams and views. Eugene took us in a drive through the property identifying the animals and showing us the Hippo in the dam. The pool was a relief and there was the one umbrella we could sit under to avoid the sun. We did have dinner and it was ok but lacked imagination. No-where else to eat anyway so they can get away with it.
Cons: House was disappointing as the Booking.com website says it has Air-con in all rooms but there are NO rooms with Air (according the manager). The drive in was ok, but the gate was barred and locked and you then had to get the code from the Hotel, by phone or email while sitting in the sun waiting on them to get back to you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Erma and Leone was absolutely very helpful. They made sure that we enjoyed our stay. They also provided and extra mattress and baby cot for my children. The game drive was an amazing tour of their huge premises.

Cons: Nothing & I was so glad to be there
6.8 Good
Pros: Perfect getaway if you wanted to be out of touch with the outside world. Food was decent
Cons: Definite lack of activities. Far from any other restaurants or other activities. Not choice in dinner or lunch options.. You have to basically eat what the chef makes
7.5 Good
Pros: The chalet was warm and cozy and staff were exceptionally friendly. The rooms were comfortable and beds very nice. Scenery amazing.
Cons: The game drive was a little disappointing besides the actual feedings, there were very few animals and although the staff were very friendly, our guide had only only been there for 3 weeks. It was also a bit pricey R375 p.p. for the outing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful farm. Friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Meals were also very tasty.
Cons: I wish they put the lodge l and especially the self catering block such that you can enjoy a view of the mountains. Stuffed animal collection in the bar is gross.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Outside area nice to sit in when sunny Communal kitchen area a godsend - good to find other guests who were as annoyed as us
Cons: Electricity went on and off Witnessed staff shouting rudely at other staff Witnessed senior staff smacking child in public. Terrible atmosphere - managers seem disinterested No phone reception dining experience both over priced and rushed - buffet style really meant everything got cleared away after 5 mins. At 250 a plate this was extortionate and quite insulting. Staff not very helpful and offered no info on things to do. Again, I would recommend Booking take another look at this place. I am losing trust in the company given the last few referrals, leaving my husband and I on a very disappointing holiday. Please review what is going wrong.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, safe, clean. Has everything you need for short stay
Cons: The cleaning lady decided that we had left the room (as we only went for a run and back before check out time ) and begged our belongings in a plastic bag. 6.8 Good
Pros: It ws nice and quiet. It was conveniently located.

Pros: Great staff Bar (separate from the rooms, so it is still very quiet if you wanna sleep) Atmosphere(social and relaxing at the same time) Tours (Lesotho and Ampitheatre) Facilities (pool, sauna, table tennis, rock climbing, pool table...) Great food *I wish I had stay longer!!*
Cons: WiFi does not go to the rooms
7.0 Good
Cons: No clear directions or any help about where about of you room especially when U checked in late, moving around checking for a room was tiring,no tv in rooms, space too small,no bar fridge, not what I expected
6.8 Good
Pros: The standard double room was comfortable and the staff was ok
Cons: The property is far away from other places. The tours and food was expensive and not very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We only had dinner and it was superb.
Cons: That we had to leave
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great and clean location, great food, clean but really small room. Stunning sun set views.
Cons: Staff wasn’t the friendliest and tried to persuade us into booking a tour through the hostel. After deciding not to do so, helpfulness concerning self organised trips decreased dramatically.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Meeting plenty of nice people, and with the braiies/BBQ organized it was really cool
Cons: You have to be careful to put a locker and careful to not leave your stuff outside of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms, amazing views/surrounds. Great vibe around the hostel and the dinner they cook each night was great after a long day of hiking!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice View. You can do tours with them.
Cons: Budget Double was pretty loud. Pretty pricy for what it is. Very far away from Tugela Falls Hike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere - the place is almost a resort.
6.8 Good
Pros: This lodge is located on the edge of Drakensberg. There is a big garden from where you can go for little hikes into nature. If you've got your own car it's possible to get to the Tugela Gorge walk in about 45 minutes. If not the lodge is organizing tours every day to Lesotho or to the top of tugela falls. In the room is a little "safe" that is lockable. Kitchen has everything you need, except cutting boards. Secured parking, ground is locked by an electrical gate.
Cons: They call themselves "backpacker's" but the mood was more like in a hotel. Compared to other backpackers it's expensive and in the evening there was no atmosphere like in a typical backpackers, quite anonymous. In addition the staff wasn't as friendly as we normally know it in South Africa. Food was ok but how it's served makes you feel rather like eating in a school canteen than in a restaurant. Double room is very small. The tours are expensive...

Pros: Owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was air conditioned, very clean, and comfortable. The grounds were well-tended. A previous reviewer mentioned a rough dirt road which leads to the place. The road is not rough. It has a few bumps, but it is easily driven in any car.
