Flights to Madrid (Barajas - MAD)

Car Rental

There are five companies from which to choose rental cars at Madrid-Barajas. They include: AeroCity-Ares Mobile, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa. Most of these can be found on the ground floors of Terminals 1, 2 and 4, with the exception of Hertz, which is on the 1st floor of Terminal 2. Though renting a car is easy, you may find getting around Madrid is easier by subway.

Public/Ground Transfer

Public transportation in Madrid is both cheap and easy to use and goes directly from the airport into the city. You can either use the subway, known as the metro, or the bus. Access Line 8 of the subway from the walkway leading to the parking structure on the first floor of Terminal 2 or from the 1st floor of Terminal 4. Bus stops can usually be found outside arrivals or baggage claim on the ground floor of Terminals 1, 2 and 4. Lines 101 and 200 stop at Terminals 1 and 2 and Line 204 stops at Terminal 4.

Airport Shuttles

There are private shuttle services, also known as airport transfers, that you can book in advance. These shuttle services operate on a fixed rate that is often pre-paid and can be arranged as shared rides with other passengers or as private shuttles. They are also a good option for large groups. One company that runs out of the airport is AeroCity and it can be found in Terminals 1, 2 and 4 on the ground floor.

Limousine Services

If you're looking for a more luxurious ride to and from the airport, many of the airport transfer services also offer VIP or limousine services. As with any other limousine service, you'll pay a fixed rate, be greeted at the airport by your driver and taken directly to wherever you wish to go. Aerocity offers this service as well.

Taxi Services

Taxi stands are located on the ground floor outside each of the terminals. It is highly recommended that you ignore anyone who offers you taxi services inside the terminal. Travel time to the city varies depending on traffic, but is usually 20 to 30 minutes. Total cost can be around 25-35 Euros with an airport charge of 5 Euros.
