Checking in was not only expedient but flawless. Had no issues at all, was in my room within 10 minutes of pulling up to the front door. Room was excellent and I do suggest the pool view.
No AC in room.
Comfortable bed, dog friendly, good location.
Twice in one day our keys would not open the door and required us to wait outside for someone to bring new ones over.
Clean facilities, close to Wharf and other fun activities.
So noisy! Do not get a first floor room. You can hear EVERY footstep the family above takes.
Quick drive into downtown Monterey. Nice rooms and property.
Great location, just off hwy 1 and easy to get to.
Card reader on room repeatedly rejected keys, but front desk was helpful!
The location of the hotel is very nice. It's surrounded by trees and up a hillside. The views aren't all that spectacular, but we could see the ocean off in the distance from our 3rd floor room. It's very close to the highway, but it wasn't noisy, so that was nice as well.
When we got to the lobby, the hotel staff wasn't very friendly. They weren't rude, just not as friendly as you would expect from a stay at a decent hotel. Three of the two counters were open with attendants, but not one of them looked up to say anything to us until the third finally did when he was done helping another guest. It would have been nice to get at least a "Hello, we will be with you in just a moment". When we got to the room, there was a huge puddle of water that was leaking from the AC to the floor. It's not like it was tucked away in a corner either, you had to step through it to get to the balcony. The room also felt very damp and muggy as a result. We were not impressed, but since we were only staying one night and completely exhausted by the time we reached the hotel, we didn't want to go through the hassle of moving all of our stuff into another room. We informed an attendant upon check out, and all we got was an "OK, thanks for letting us know, we will do something about it". Wasn't quite sure what that meant, but I haven't heard from the hotel since. It would have been nice to get an apology at the very least.
Beautiful surroundings. Nice lounge and fireplace. Great place for drinks
I little too kid friendly, since we were an adult couple with no kids.
The grounds were really beautiful! Green and well landscaped, the pool area looked like a lot of fun. There were games by the pool, and fire pits near the hot tubs.
We went to our room, and the first thing we noticed was a very large yellow stain on the bed. The top sheets were white, you couldn't miss this stain! Bluntly lazy on house keeping's part. While we were calling down to get a new room, we noticed water damage or mold around the ceiling fan, the counters in the bathroom were dirty, the shower stall was dirty and the computer desk had something sticky on it. When the gentlemen came to help us with our bags and escort us to our new room, we expressed our disappointment in general with the rooms, outdated and no where near as nice as Hyatts we'd stayed at before. His response was " well, it's a whole other standard here". Our other room was clean. However, after that gentlemens response our disappointment with the quality of the rooms and the negligence of the house keeping, we decided to get our money back and stay at BW. For the cost of staying at Hyatt, I expect clean rooms and accommodating staff. I always try to point out the good, but the room condition was just unbelievable....
Nice golf course view.
No sound proofing. Can hear everything next door or above.
I saw a lot of them while in the pool with my grandkids. We were welcomed well by the bellboys and the front desk, but after that things went downhill. Pool too cool, elevators too spaced apart, and rooms not clean enough for my taste. Rugs and upholstery spotted like Motel 6! Come on! Room service mistakes, delays, and miscommunication. Four stars? Maybe for non-families, but not us. I paid for **** but got **.
Minimal seating area in room, rough towels, used soap in bathroom sink, spotted carpeting and upholstery, limited seating area, and an air conditioning machine? Not central air. The pool towels were actually better than the room towels? Sheesh.
Quiet,yet close to everything
Rooms were dark and noisy (close to highway). The location is poor at best. If you are not playing golf there then there is no other appealing reason to stay there...
The golf club looked great and the room was great.
The restaurants were very Denny's, but not in cost
Loved it all, the staff, the amenities, the room was clean and modern. We will definitely stay again!
We used kayak and they didn't have us in the system so we drove 4 hours and didn't have a room, luckily they had a room avaiable. Could hear lots of noise at night,
There was a band somewhere playing really loud drums past 10 PM that wouldn't let us sleep.
The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice.
Not enough water pressure. not enough linens. There was a portable floor airconditioner too loud!
The room was spacious. Really nice dining experience. Easy access to hotel from highway 1. Spa was a good addition.
1) The room had spiders 2) It was not made clear a priori that the room lacked Air Conditioning. The receptionist did not make this clear either. 3) There were used soaps and shampoos of previous residents of the room that were not cleared out. 4) Bed was bad.
Great location in Monterey: convenient to everything. The facilities are nice (there's a cool firepit by the pool that gets lit at night) , but I was expecting a little more from a Hyatt.
Labor Day Weekend was a little nuts--so many people everywhere, but I don't fault the Hotel for that.
Very clean, and clasy. Good Prices on drinks and food.
The room was beautiful
It was a little pricey
