Check-in was fast and simple as well as check-out. Hotel was relatively new, clean. Beds were comfortable with a choice of pillows (soft and firm). Room size was decent. Breakfast was nice, but nothing special, about the same for these types of hotels.
You want to stay in this hotel. The staff was very helpful and curtious. The king bed was great with plenty of pillows, both soft and firm. We had plenty of room to move around with a sofa and easy chair, along with a desk. There was also a nice big LCD tv. We were very empressed. The hot breakfast came in handy and goes to 9:30 during the week.
Hotel was pretty clean and modern. Bed was nice. I thought the price could have been a few bucks cheaper but overall was OK. The staff was excellent. We had a room for 2 nights. The first night the room was next to the elevator. We could hear every stop. We didn't notice it until we went to bed and everything was turned off. They moved us down the hall and it was great after that. Overall I liked it and would go back.
This hotel was a brand new facility and absolutely beautiful! All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were greeted and asked how everything was multiple times. If we needed anything they were happy to help. The rooms were immaculate. They have great big flat screen tv's and incredible mattresses. The hot breakfast was amazing, more food than I've seen in most places. It was even free! The pool was great, my kids had so much fun. I got to sit by the pool, under a beautiful canopy. It was so relaxing. The best vacation I've had in a long time.
Citrus County finally has a new hotel. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Lecanto is everyting a business traveler needs while in Citrus County(Inverness, Lecanto, Crystal River, Hommosassa Springs). Brand new hotel, fast efficient front desk service, beautifully decorated rooms with oversized work desks, free high speed internet access, 32 inch LCD flat screens, plush pillow top bedding, etc., etc., etc., The hotel is also 100% pet free and smoke free. The free hot breakfast in the morning is delicious. The only draw back-did not feel like leaving my room after breakfast and attending any of my business meetings .
The staff was very friendly and and made the stay enjoyable
The hotel was new and in great shape. The staff were exceptional in every way. Michele was fun at the front desk and wanted to be sure we had whatever we needed. The night desk clerk told us of some 'Delicious' places to eat. The free breakfast was the best I've had and plentiful. We spent a golf weekend there and played some great courses in the area, and would come back to the hotelafterward for wine and a soak in the pool. Met some fun guests to talk with. We had a wonderful trip and the stay was a part of that. Great Job Guys! We've already told our friends.
After staying here monthly for a 12 month period, I've decided to move on. The management would rather profit than serve the client. Service is declining...during my last stay - 1) My room was not cleaned nor made up after vacating it at 10:30 am. 2) There was NO HOT WATER for the entire weekend 3) I was awoken several times during the night by people knocking at my door; security really is needed here in the evenings. I travel here from NY to care for elderly family. When I reported these issues (ON THE FEEDBACK CARDS MANAGEMENT LEFT IN THE ROOM), they were labeled as ''COMPLAINTS'' and my future reservations were canceled by the management! The staff is miserable, stay away!
I stayed at the hotel in April the hotel was great. I loved the great service, the pool the comfortable beds and the homely atmosphere. This hotel is clean , affordable and has a great hot breakfast every morning(love the cinnabuns). I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and anyone that wants a quiet , new and service friendly hotel please visit the Holiday inn truly a great experience.
Family friendly resort the property was clean and well groomed. The staff was friendly and helpful Unable to snorkel off of property even though four tour boats were anchored letting multiple people snorkel
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. It's a pretty hotel and kept well. The staff was friendly and helpful and the grounds were beautiful. The scenery couldn't be better too. Went scalloping with a guide through the dive shop and had a great time. It was so easy coming back from scalloping, people cleaned them right at the dock for a fee and the restaurant prepared them with all the fixings for a great price. Delicious! So much to do in the area. We had a great time. The toilet paper roll was so far from toilet. It was weird.
Beautiful location on the river, nice pool though a bit warm due to the hot weather. Great tiki bar that served casual food by the pool. Staff was very friendly. Had a great trip swimming with the manatees through their dive center. Would not recommend them for scalloping tours however - it is $300 for up to six people and you have to provide the entire group of six. They don't put tours together. Older hotel but it was lovely. Our only negative comment, and it is no fault of the hotel, the guests in the room next to ours had a screaming baby that started at 1 am and continued until 6am when we finally got up. Extremely inconsiderate of them, but again not the fault of the hotel.
Awesome pools and jacuzzi! Gorgeous setting! Comfortable, large rooms and bathrooms. Bar tender at the pool ignored me and served other, older guests who walked up after me before taking my order...maybe they looked like they made more money? Anyway, other than that, the stay was great.
The location was absolutely stunning, the pool was crystal clear and the cleanest I have experienced on any vacation, and the dive shop rentals were a phenomenal value and experience. The restaurants that we dined at were phenomenal (though there are only a small handful of restaurant options). Supervision of younger children is not enforced - the staff was called upon twice with regards to screaming and door slamming and horseplay in the halls. We were on vacation to enjoy peace and relaxation, sadly this was not respected by fellow vacationers. While the property was well cared for, 6:45 on Saturday morning was not the time to rake the pavement (a very loud and exceedingly annoying sound), waking the guests.
Excellent place to stay. Hope to spend more time there.
liked that it was right on the water, liked that there was a bar and restaurant didn't like that the walls are thin, had a room with a shared door and could here EVERYTHING if you get my point
The location was great. The hotel is right on the water and grounds are nice. Loved that the hotel had its own marina (Plantation Marina) with boat rentals and manatee packages. We opted to rent our own pontoon and we were so happy we did. We were able to find our way easily around the area and locate many manatees to observe and swim with! We enjoyed having our own boat and not feeling rushed or herded by a tour group. The hotel Marina was well run and everyone was helpful!
Clean hotel, friendly staff even at 2 am when my son got sick. Brought clean linen right away. Would definitely stay again
The tub was clean overall room clean Pool is small
Clean, free breakfast, nice lobby and rooms It seemed like the springs in both of the queen-sized beds in our room were broken. They made loud popping sounds anytime we moved. Beds were not very comfortable.
It was a real nice little room, not super modern but clean and comfortable. A nice place as a base to relax and sleep at then go sightseeing or attend to business during the day then go back for a night. It's convenient to town and beaches, along with tourist sites. Has small frig and microwave, TV was so-so. TV was old and poor picture. Very limited cont. breakfast. Could not find an ice machine. Price was a little high, but I guess in line with area costs.
The room smelled of urine and mold. The shower head and faucet leaked all over the bathroom. The employees were rude. The pool was in desperate need of repair. The room was muggy and damp even with the AC on full blast. The refrigerator no matter what temp it was on froze everything inside it. When I let the staff know about the problems they just ignored me until I checked out and then the only thing that was addressed was the leaky bathroom.
nothing air conditioner sucked, microwave didn't work, cockroaches found, rude front desk lady who every time I tried to talk she would interrupt me and act as if I was a bother to her, overpriced and needs upgrades terribly breakfast consisted of coffee and bagels and stale danishes
Comfy bed. Close to Crystal River kayak facilities. Quiet. Reasonable cost. Housekeeper was very nice and helpful. "Continental Breakfast" was coffee, tea, muffins, English muffins and bananas. No cereal or milk. Very difficult for anyone not in top condition. No grab bars for tub, toilet too low, no non-slip surface for tub. Foodstuffs by bed on floor, what looked like plant matter was in both beds. Phone had crackle online always; front desk did not answer when I called; a.m. front desk person somewhat rude. table in room had broken leg, and chairs too low and uncomfortable. Had 1970's furnishings which needed repair.. A/C very noisy, but efficient. Noisy also even when not running. Picture had been removed above one bed and not replaced - holes still in wall. Hotel almost completely empty when we got there - I wonder if all their rooms were the same. Perhaps they don't have enough business to be able to refurbish.
Bare bones for sure. Breakfast wasn't even worth waking up for. Staff not very friendly. Bathtub was disgusting.
That it was quite There was hair in the tub, the sink and in the bed. Didn't like the old tv and the plug wouldn't charge my computer. Or cell phone had to get my own power strip cord.
Although furniture is older, the room was well-maintained and clean. Great value, easy access. Appreciated the usb charger as well as the microwave and refrigerator in the room. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast could use better coffee.
clean, courteous service. Denny's was clean, friendly, and tasty.
Price was very reasonable. Older place but clean, handy to local attractions. Quiet and good bed. Combined with Dennys. Would rather have quiet coffee and news in continental breakfast-type setting.
It was close to town, front desk check in super helpful as hotels.com screwed our reservation up. Very very bright lighted parking as we had a boat. Clean room, pillow top beds, icey a/c, hot shower, what more do u need? Denny s attached to motel. Carpet in room a little dirty.
Location The hotel need renovations. It looks tired. The office/restaurant restrooms are very out dated and look dirty because of that. The lobby is not very inviting.
The check in lady was rude from the time we got there. After checking in we were just tired and wanted to rest. There were 4 of us but only 3 towels. I went down to ask for another towel for our other guest. She "claimed" she couldn't get any towels they were locked up in the manager's office. Like I'm an idiot & have no clue that all hotels have a housekeeping room. Then a guest came in behind me-making my issue seem irrelevant. He had just checked in and had NO towels at all! The desk clerk proceeded to tell him "Let me see if I can break in the manager's office." What in the world?! Frustrated I went back to our room. The air vents kicked on & immediately made the room smell like old, wet, moldy socks. The lamp had a short in the switch so we had to play with the cord to get it just so to stay on. I pulled back the shower curtains to see 2 dried up looking used wash cloths. Was totally disgusted. Called the front desk lady and she casually says "Oh we have a new girl. I'll talk with her about it." Whatever that was suppose to mean. Took a shower & noticed the water wasn't draining. I turned off the water being an inch of water was surrounding my feet & went down really slowly. Yuck! The bathroom air vent on the ceiling had dust bunnies & dried skeletal remains of dead spiders in them. The bottom of the bathroom door looked as if a dog had chewed on it. I went out to get ice at the ice machine (that was broke) to feel very frightened at the other guests. They looked very crackheadish like. And kept trying to talk to me as I proceeded back to my room quickly. I thought I was getting a deal paying around $80 for a room but this hotel wasn't worth a dime. Take my advice. Pay the extra at another hotel. This was a nightmare!
The staff was very friendly, the restaurant is really good.
Good food at great prices and cheap drinks at the bar. Lisa, our bartender was great.
It's rundown and dirty. My first room was disgusting, and I made them change me. The second was better, but not great. Internet was spotty. The bathroom soap was crappy, and the housekeeping didn't replenish the toilet paper.
I liked the price, location, and ease of access. Need more towels in the rooms, even with 2 people, 2-3 is not enough when you're active. Breakfast was bleh, but we ate out for good local seafood so much we didn't care!
Location that's it. Was Wayyyy too noisy, we got no sleep due to a party in a neighboring room, that went on til 6am the next morning. Then the average early risers going down for free breakfast and then back to their rooms. It was terrible, like no noise barriers between rooms.
Nasty place,. Needed to paint or least wash hallways and empty trashy Nothing
The restaurant was very good. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. This was the highlight of our stay. Breakfast was not as good as other breakfasts at other hotels. Improvement is needed or just don't offer as a benefit of the stay.
Rude intoxicated men hanging out at the pool, displaying obnoxious disregard for others. Loud radios blasting well into the night, later than 11:00pm. Drunk adults outside the rooms talking loudly and laughing, and screaming vulgarities at each other. Multiple phone calls made to the front desk, but no assistance received. In fact, the desk clerk told me I should expect that kind of disturbance because the hotel has a cocktail lounge! Worst hotel/motel experience in more than 25 years.
Saturday night during scallop season was only $80....that is good. If want a non-smoking room, you need to be sure to include that in your reservation. If you want waffles or cereal for breakfast, that's OK. Other than that, they had stale doughnuts.
Fun Tiki Bar Older building but comfortable
The onsite restaurant is great
I stayed with my 13 year old daughter for just one night. After a great day of fishing and fun. So we get there and went to our room which is room 202 awesome view of the water, springs and all around the best room to overlook the water. However don't expect much for roomluxury. It's old musty and tub was moldy. But somewhat the room looked clean? Furniture 1980 maybe, beds firm but old too. We did have a cold fridge for food and drinks a microwave. And over all the room was quiet. Food at the ale house ok at best. The Beer at the (alehouse) was flat. So after two flat beers I waited to get back to the room for the finer beers. Views are spectacular! We saw the Manatees right of the doc in front of our room, which my daughter loved.
Beautiful views of true Florida, lovely marina, convenient boat launch.. Our room was comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly. Old buildings, but the furnishings, linens, are standard hotel fare.. Comfy beds. Good coffee, fresh fruit and sweet snacks for breakfast (don't expect bagels, muffins, or cereal). Building needs a lot of maintenance. No proper closet, just a shelf, hanging rod which needed to be replaced.
Breakfast was great and plentiful. Food was hot and drinks were cold. The waffle mix was too thick and would not pour but the staff corrected it right away when it was brought to their attention. The dining room was clean enough and comfortable. The parking lot was well lit. The water stayed hot during all our showers throughout the day and night. I requested a replacement set of towels but there were only bath towels available.

It was walking distance from the water
Good location with easy check-in and out Did not get room service the first night and the eggs at breakfast were a little on the tasteless and dry side.
The room I stayed in had already been renovated. Other renovations are obviously underway. Everything was fresh and much better than other hotels in the area. The door lock was flaky; multiple uses of the room card(s) were needed before I could open the door. The door jam was about 2 inches higher than interior room's floor.
It being close to the water and the bar and grill!

Close to our manatee tour, maybe half a mile away. Within walking distance of many food/dinner options. Also free breakfast, nice employees. Loved that it was by the bay with beach chairs to relax on the deck. Older Hotel and kind of dark inside.
location stained carpet, damp smell in the first room, dirt in corners of bathroom.a lot of minor things that could easily be corrected
Spa hot tub is good. Pool is not heated.
This hotel is on bay and next to great restaurant and tiki bar. Perfect for our night spent there! Room is very basic but clean really can't say anything bad
