Happy Pride Month! You’re probably excited to hear that this year, many of our favorite events are back to in-person, so that travelers can visit the cities they love and wave their rainbow flags proudly. If you’re ready to get back to travel with a purpose, here are 5 US Pride events you can travel to this World Pride Month.
- Venice, California. Fully vaccinated partygoers can join Venice Pride for Gaywatch, the Official Venice Pride Party at James’ Beach on June 5 with DJ Victor Rodriguez. Generate some good karma in advance at the Beach, Please! Big Beach Cleanup. Proceeds from the party help Venice Pride protect the gay bars and institutions that have made Venice a long-considered safe space for the LGBTQ community from being forced out of business due to gentrification.
- San Francisco, California. Grab your popcorn! San Francisco Pride will be hosting two socially distanced Pride Movie Nights on June 11th &12th, to celebrate San Francisco’s LGBTQ community. They’ll also be hosting a Black Liberation Event in partnership with the AAACC on June 18th, the eve of Juneteenth, to highlight the intersection between LGBTQ rights and racial justice.
- Provincetown, Massachusetts. Provincetown Pride is kicking off Pride Month with four events. Bop along to the tunes of Elton & Billy, grab a drink and try your luck at Queer Beer BINGO, show off your personal pride and style at Pride:Express Yourself, or enjoy a night at the cabaret at Provincetown Follies: The Gayest Show in Town.
- New York, New York. NYC Pride is organizing a range of virtual events this year from June 18 – June 27th, including a Youth Pride event, Pride Island (2 hours of performances streamed from around the city + 2 hours of music for your own Digital Dance Party) & RALLY. You can show your support in person at the COVID-safe PrideFest in Greenwich Village, a full day street fair with exhibitors, entertainers, artists, food and more. - Portland, Oregon. Portland will also celebrate Pride Month with a combination of virtual and in-person events. Grab a mimosa at Diva Drag Brunch and then head to The Lot at Zidell yards for two full days of Queer films. Don’t forget to sign up for the online viewing part of the Virtual Portland Pride Parade 2021.
