This hotel should be ranked 2 stars at best. The staff was unhelpful from the moment I checked in. Basically handed me the key with no offer to point me in the direction of the room. The rooms smelled musky, the hot water was lukewarm, and the overall feel of the hotel and room was dingy!! I would not recommend this hotel. The parking lot was also very dark and felt unsafe. Additionally, the door on the exterior which required a key card was broken which allowed any strangers into the hotel not through the main lobby! I was there with my daughter and did not feel safe and as such did not have an enjoyable stay. Overall, a terrible experience.
Hotel is in a safe area with plenty of free parking. Rooms are clean and maids were very good in there cleaning of the rooms. Microwave and mini fridge in the rooms. Largest jacuzzi I have seen at a hotel (25 person capacity)
Hotel is a modified office building. Despite the best efforts to make it into a hotel the office concept dominates and the over all feeling is a russian apartment complex. Despite renovation rooms look old and worn. Generic beds and furniture.Hotel is NOT 3 stars. 2 and half stars is what is should be rated. The site is a modified office building so there are large barren halls with 3 floors of rooms. Rooms are not 3 star quality and are much more generic. The hotel isnt a bad place to stay it just want designed as a hotel and it really shows. There is a 'golf' course in the back, which looks like some swales were put in an grass dug out to create some sand areas. Saw some kids from what looked like a local school using it. P...

The people were friendly and the bed was comfortable.
Helpful, friendly front desk staff. Room and public spaces very clean.
Decor could use some work. As other mentioned, parking is very tight. It's doable, just challenging. This is a no-frills, clean, perfectly acceptable 3-star hotel. You don't get any more or any less than you pay for, and that's not a bad thing. It's plenty good enough for a business trip or overnight stay.

The room was clean and spacious , good inroom coffee and a balcony. I loved the room! It was under 10 minutes to SDSU, so that was terrific. It's in a business park, so not much to do. It's only 10 minutes to SDSU and I'd stay again. The pool is nice, help helpful and the room was large plus included a sofa bed. I was there to visit SDSU and it wasn't far at all by car. It isn't close to night life, but is a very nice hotel. I was alone and felt very safe.
Bed sheets were dirty, staff was very unprofessional and obviously they don't know what 'customer service' means.Fire alarm went off at 11:30pm. We are notified that it's a false alarm and we all go back to sleep. Not even an hour later, fire alarm goes off again! Turns out an elevator is stuck i don't know where, smoke is coming out and they barely realized that!! Are you kidding me? That tells you the staff has no idea of what's going on in their hotel...We are told we can go back in our rooms but they can't guarantee it won't happen again. When we checked out the next morning, staff didn't even acknowledge what happened during the night, we never heard an apology or something that would at least make us feel better. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had and i can guarantee I will never stay at Courtyard Marriott. I absolutely don't recommend it!

We like the location of the Residence Inn in the San Diego area. The staff was professional and nice during our stay. My kids enjoyed daily walks in the courtyard and throughout the facilities. The pool was clean and my kids enjoyed the swimming pool.
We didn't like the dirty carpet and dirty sofa bed. The carpet was extremely dirty, everytime we took off shoes and walk around with white socks our socks were dark brown/black. The carpets needs to be shampooed. Our kids could not play floor with their toys because we feared of bacteria or dirt substances on the floor. My daughter accidently spilled a drop of milk on the sofa and we cleaned it up with a damp towel, unfortunately the towel was dark brown/black afterwards. The carpets and sofa really needs to be steamed cleaned at least four times a year when you have guest coming in and out the of the rooms.
It was like staying in a nice quiet condo. The staff were very warm and friendly. The place was well maintained
I remember reading that this was centrally localed for walking to places, I wouldn't agree with that. You could walk places but not places you'd want to go. It was a quick drive to lots of suburbia with free parking so that was convenient.

Maybe need another waffle iron, breakfast was packed and you had to wait in a long line.
Hotel was very clean, and friendly and extremely easy to get to six flaggs.
I paid for my room when I booked online. But the hotel charged me again after I left, said they were reversing the charges. I still haven't gotten my money back. I am a single mother on vacation with my four children. It made things very tight for

I liked how close it was to the freeways. The front desk personnel was friendly.
The bathrooms are very old. They need to be remodeled. There was no breakfast even though kayak said the bad breakfast the hotel did not. The coffee that they did have has not very good, the creamers were expired and floated on top of the coffee.
The pool was a great & the rooms were a good size. The location was nice because it was right off the freeway.
