The price was affordable.

The location was in undesirable area. Parking was limited.

The room was affordable and office staff was friendly. Location was undesirable because it was right off the freeway, which is loud. It was a couple of blocks from our desired location, however there was many homeless people wondering around, which makes traveling by foot sketchy. I believe that its affordably enables low-income, unstable individuals to stay there as well. While getting into our car we had a man storm out of room with threating words. Luckily, the situation was diffused by us driving away. Overall, we were safe. But we would pay a little extra next time to insure safety and accessibility.

I liked the fact that it was located in downtown San Diego. it is close to a must try hodad's if you're not from around. Also it's close to the Gaslamp. So mainly location is what i liked.

I didn't like that there were a lot of homeless roaming around. I got lucky with parking but it is very limited. You could also hear footsteps from above. It is located in a busy street so sometimes you can hear cars go by.

location was good for what we had planned on doing there but that was about it.

yes I didnt like having roaches running around my room which scared my daughter, the first roach I killed and flushed it down the toilet. but when the second roach showed up that was it. I killed it and went to the office to report what had happen. so the

clerk came to our room and took pictures of the second dead roach and also where I killed it on the wall. She said that thier Manager does not come back until monday but we were leaving the next day. I asked her if there was any other room we could use and she said NO. But she will the Manager call me. It's now 7/13/2014 and I still have not heard anything from this hotel MGR. we check in on 7/05/20014 and checked out on 7/06/2014 I feel that we should got some sort of compensation for sleeping we roaches in out room. Very Unhappy customer, never again will I be using this hotel or website to book my future stays.

Cleanliness and location.

They overbook the hotel, so at arrival they only have a suite available costing almost $100 more, and of course they wanted the customer to pau for the difference instead of honoring the reservation and already schedule price. Do not book with them.

The staff is very rude and have no respect for customers. When arrived at location, they simply said that they didnt have a room available for that price and that is not their problem. Basically like F you and your plans, they dont care.

Very close to Little Italy. Went for the San Diego marathon and I was able to walk to the start line.

A little too close from the airport. Could hear the planes taking off and landing all the time but once you get used to it, it's ok. The sheets weren't that clean and you could see old stains

Staff at the reception was very nice when asked to changed room upon check-in because I was initially given the room under the stairs. Was able to ask for a late check-out (1pm) but someone came at our door at noon to press us to leave. However we still stayed until 1pm.

staff, location, included breakfast, TV set; there was sufficient free parking (on a weekday).

bad air quality; musty & smoky permeating smell (we're allergic); bad electrical; small room overcrowded with furniture; extremely worn-out bathtub and shower; Wi-Fi didn't function

Positives: This hotel is conveniently located close to the main attractions; there are lots of restaurants around. Staff is very friendly. We parked our car in a carport. Free breakfast was greatly appreciated. Negatives: We asked for a non-smoking room; however, we got the room that had terribly smoky and musty air. A/C unit, contaminated with this odor, aggravated the air quality even more, but we had to use it as it was hot. My husband's (sleep apnea) breathing machine got permeated with this odor, and we can't seem to get rid of it even after thorough cleaning/replacing filters. All our clothes got stinky, too. We're allergic and asthmatic; it was a bad night for us. Also...

The breakfast was great and lots of parking.

The bathtub had signs of mold which made it seem to be unclean and in need of a good cleaning.

The was an unhappy ex-employee who had just been fired or was having issues and she was in there yelling and crying at the front desk person. Very unprofessional for both of them and very awkward and uncomfortable for me.

The room was spaceous and the bathroom had plenty of space under the sink to store stuff. It was nice that you could cook if you wanted to.

You could smell EVERYTHING the other guests were cooking. And the front desk did not always answer their phone or provide fast service when we asked for something.

The handle on the fridge was GONE. Broken off. The smells as you walk down the hallway were disgusting, but I guess that's to be expected when there are all those people cooking random stuff. Called and asked for towels one morning, she said it would be 'a few minutes', no one came for over 45 minutes. We were trying to shower before check out at 11 and they literally came at 10:50 am. Overall it wasn't horrible but we won't stay there again.

Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Free breakfast in the morning is nothing elaborate, but definitely does the job and gets your day off to a good start.

Showerheads in bathrooms are forever not high enough. Although I will keep coming back here, that issue needs to be corrected. Found myself kneeling to wash my head, and I'm NOT tall!

Great hotel if you're on a budget for one or two nights. Free movie rentals. DVD player in room. Close to Sea World and Old Town restaurants and shops.

Proximity to attractions, staff, breakfast, nice comfy room

That was my first time in San Diego and I wanted a place close to zoo and sea world. This hotels is 5 to 10 minutes away from Zoo, Sea world, down town, airport and old town. Amazingly friendly staff and one of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel. In short, I will definitely stay in this hotel if I ever go back to San Diego. I will highly recommend this place to all types of travelers, but especially families.

Well.there was patches all over the walls.Dead spiders on the walls. The pool was closed. It was so hot so that was a bummer. The hotel is so run down. Really dirty. Nothing like pictures. The sign in front the hotel was gone. It was the worst hotel I have Ever stayed in. I wouldn't have my worst enemy stay at this hotel.i stayed for the night and wanted a refund for the second night. The person and the front desk then gave me their suite for the second night for the same price. It was better then the first room but it was still run down.

The location of the hotel was great! I was nervous because of the price but this ended up being a great hotel. We were vacationing for five days and have no complaints.

The hotel was obviously outdated but other than that it was perfect for our family.

Friendly staff, we ended up leaving a day early and they were more than willing to reverse charges for the night.

Nothing

The room smell, the hallway smell, they don't change sheet during your stay, close to street, so noisy that you can't sleep at night. The front desk lady is not nice. There isn't enough breakfast for everyone, the manager is cheap.

I don't like anything about this hotel, for the same price I can stay in Best Western. It is just near the place I want to go, so I choose this one, turns out that is my biggest mistake. I told the staff that the room smells like basement, she called me crazy and did nothing else. So, me and my husband almost stay up all night coughing, my child got sick after stay there.

Location. Security on premises at night.

Checked in at 2:45 was told room will be ready in 15 minutes. Decided to go grab a bite to eat. Came back at 4:15 room was still not ready for check in. Was told it will be another 15 minutes. Rediculous!

Room service barged in our room twice before 9am on the day we were scheduled to check out. Parking is so jam packed. Very small parking spaces. Really have to be careful navigating through the lot when trying to find a parking space.
