The atmosphere. a 1920s bank refurbished into a hotel makes for a ton of charm!
The valet parking was way over priced and my car got scratched in the garage.
Location to Gaslamp and public transportation. Extremely helpful staff.
Can't really think of a negative. If you are going to San Diego for Gaslamp district or Padres game, it is within easy walking range. One block from train stop as well.

The only good thing is the friendly and helpful staff and location is near nice restaurants and shops.
I paid almost $1000 for 4 nights for a cramped room and a rinky dinky elevator! Price is steep for the kind of room I got.
Great place to stay when visiting San Diego. Many bars and restaurants at walking distance. Loved the old school look. Great Valet service. Friendly staff. Honestly just great. I'm planning on staying again soon.
There was nothing I didn't like. It was perfect. :)

Guest Services gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary & birthday. The room was very spacious and they upgraded us.
The location was at the epicenter of the Gaslamp District. Perhaps if we didn't have a baby w/ us, we wouldn't have minded, but the noise from outside was extremely loud until about 3:00am. Again, if we didn't have a baby w/ us, we probably would have been down there but it was very hard to get rest and the baby kept waking up as well. We stayed here with the intention of staying close to the zoo. But this is not a great place for families. Good place to stay if you're planning on staying up late and partying at the Gaslamp District. The rooms had a funky smell too - especially the bathroom. But then again the building is really old.
I liked the location, the atmosphere of a classic hotel and the roof top breakfast.
The sound level from the streets on a Friday or Saturday night.

The location was good The roof top bar was nice and relaxing
The bed was small and lumpy
Location is excellent if you want to be in the heart of the Gaslamp District.
The bathroom does not have a solid door and is glass enclosed, so there is very little privacy for the person using the toilet.Great, responsive staff and amazing location. Room was a little small, but you probably won't be spending much time in the room, given the location. The rooftop is great for relaxing during the day and supports an active nightlife.

Window air conditioner was so loud it was impossible to hear TV without having the TV "blaring". The outside noises weren't blocked out effectively. The sirens, people talking/yelling, etc, could all be heard very easily from my 3rd floor room.
The rooms and facilities were nicely updated. The staff was very nice and the free breakfast was great. We enjoyed are stay and proximity to down town. Overall a good experience.
The rooms are pretty small and the bed is a full not a queen...so a bit cramped...but still clean and comfortable.
