I thought the hotel was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the pool and surrounding area perfect. The only fault I would have with the hotel is the lack of dining facilities, and its a bit off the beaten track. A car is a necessity, and because there is no restaurant in the hotel, it meant driving for to eat every night.
We liked the peaceful atmosphere and its location. All the hotel staff are well trained and very helpful. The only improvement I can think of is that for breakfast they have to be sure that there is enough for all the clients present, otherwise it was a wonderful holiday.
Excellent staff, very nice and helpful. Clean room and fresh towels every day. Very good bathroom and nice pool. Breakfasts were good but could have been more diverse - every day were the same products, no vegetables, always two the same juices flavours etc. A lift would be useful for people with baby pram (like us) luckily there is only first floor to go upstairs.
Relaxing sunbathing area Swimming pool was out of use due to broken glass with no apparent attempt to clear it.Location behind filling station next to tyre depot meant noisy in daytime.
The reception staff were very helpful, but the cleaning of the room was very poor. The breakfast was very limited and poor.No original juices, the eggs was heavy boiled(green inside!!!) limited fruits. We were very dissapointet that the bar/snack bar at the pool area was closed all times. This was contradary to the website. And it was only a very poor possibility to buy anything at the shop or bar at the reception. The room and view was fine.
Friendly staff, nice pool area (not for lap swimming), decent rooms. Although it's in the middle of nowhere, it's centrally located to many sites (e.g. Erice, Segesta, Lo Zingaro). Breakfast is typical Italian. Lots of sweets, not too many healthy options.
We were given a disabled room, when the hotel seemed almost empty. The TV was broken. There were always lights on at the bar, but never anybody there. The pool was dirty. To go out for a meal or a drink, we had to drive, there was nowhere within walking distance.
It's your typical hotel, very nice and clean though, but I always feel to miss a particular atmosphere. The breakfast had plenty of foods to chose from, but tasted a little cheap.
The pool was nice and their buffet breakfast was great; however, the hotel should add fruits in their breakfast (i.e. apples, oranges, bananas, etc.) They advertise two jacuzzi that do not operate. Bad business if someone makes a final decision based on amenities.
A very cosy welcoming place perfectly located in the middle of this beautiful medieval small town
Attractive and comfortable room, with good bathroom facilities. The room heating was inadequate (it was a very cold night).
Location. Excellent cuisine and wait staff, especially Carmela and Alexandra. Comfortable and spacious room. Carlo very helpful with luiggage and parking.
Nice location Person who took our check in seemed listless and did not bother to show us anything about how to handle various aspects of the room (i.e. controls for heat, cooling, etc.0
Charming staff, excellent location and unurried comfort.
The hotel was in a good location to see erice. The staff was not helpful and the sheets on the bed were damp.
Sitting by the fire place when the fog rolls in. We were there in March - way off season.
Spectacular location.Staff made every effort to meet guest requirements.Erice well worth inclusion on self organised tour. Good food presented in an attracive manner. Good homely hotel. Weather. Cost of taxis to location.
A bit pricey, but very nice rooms, clean, very good location. Breakfast - only cold dishes - "ÿou get what you see".
Low season. They hard hard to smile in the hotel.
the quietness the room was too narrow, the bed too hard
The building was lovely, an old monastery very simply decorated but a very tranquil place to stay.
Great situation in old convent. Spacious rooms, feather duvets, good heating.Breakfast was good.
It is a really impressive monastery building perfectly renovated. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The view from our room was excellent. The atmospere of the place is really special. Everything was perfect.
Staff members were very gfriendly and the location of the hotel is very good.
staff very nice Breakfast minimum and hard/hard bed...and we like firm beds
The evening meal is a feast! It is so good and an amazing value for the money spent! Highly recommended! WIFI internet didn't work in the room, but it worked around the reception desk.
Unique experience. Very quiet and peaceful, original unmolestered historic monetry, good for couples wanting access to the wonderful hill top village of Erice, or a fun place to take the kids (to tell them ghost stories about headless Monks !! All in all memorable, thank you bookings.com and Il Carmine/ No
Staff friendly.Efficient check in/out.Location superb.Buffet breakfast fine.Quiet and secure environment. No problem with parking in winter but may be a different issue in summer. Best food in Erice was in PentoLaccia. Try Cannoli in main street cake shop. Visit i Bucanieri in Marsala, by far best restaurant in area ....try bucanieri 11 (Pesce Misto) and Angus steak..............fantastic................ Florio winery a few doors away has excellent wines... try Passo delle Mule...........a red wine excellent with fish!. Garabaldi in old town also vg unlike Venus restaurant which was awful even though more expensive. Enjoy Erice............................ WIFI only works beside reception not in rooms....poor advertising....not a large cost to fix , surprising after all previous comments!!!. Time also to modernize bathroom and plumbing ,,,,,,,more modern shower and extractor fan required which was weak and not efficient and very noisy as was toilet flush.
Fabulous location, very friendly staff No evening meal available in mid Sept. and we chose it because people raved about the food
Beautiful scienery and restaurants were superb. Hotel is in a great location. A bit quiet, although the staff are friendly.
Cleanliness of hotel. Location to beach. Lack of restaurants nearby. A car is essential for your stay here
Great beach, very clean hotel. Need a car to get around, but if you have one there is lots ot see and do in the area. Very little english spoken by the hotel staff made some things difficult. Very little information about things to so, we wanted to hire a boat for a day but could not find any information either at the hotel or in the town.
staff was wonderful. it was most helpful that the staff spoke a few languages as it was full of international guests a little bit more information - restaurant times, pool services, beach services would have been nice on a card or paper rather than having to ask
the food disgracefullfor a 4* hotel waiting for barstaff up to 30 mins as they noone behind bar
Friendly staff, clean facilities, fantastic pool Very loud music around the pool during the day....an excess of young children!
room too small for 2 people .
None of the staff in hotel spoke any bit of english, so it was hard to communicate
It had a pool Extremely basic for a 4 star and the menu at the restaurant very limited. Not a great breakfast either
The hotel was generally clean and facilities ok Total confusion by the reception lady regarding the payment and arrangements that others had agreed - lack of understanding. You really need a car for this one as out of the way and taxi prices from hotel expensive.
The cleaness of the rooms, the attention in the front desk, and the fact that it had a wiFi system Not be able to connect my wireless phone ... low signal
Excellent hotel in a charming town with cobblestone streets. Quiet location. Nice, immaculate rooms. Free Wi-Fi. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommended. Although the shower is relatively small, it appears to be the usual size for hotels in this area.
It is a very nice family-run small hotel right in the heart of the beautiful town of Erice. Rooms are spacious and stylishly/traditionally designed. Common areas are inviting and cosy. Staff is helpful and friendly.
I appreciated the warm reception, and the personal touch and attention that the owners offered their guests. It was like going home from home. They spared no effort to ensure we were comfortable, without being invasive, and that we made the best use of our time in Erice. Breakfast could have been more varied, but we were there during off-season, which may explain that.
Absolutely beautiful Hotel in a great Town. The owner and her family especially her father were very welcoming and gracious. Wished we had stayed longer. Just a great place to stay. Nothing
The family that owns this hotel were very gracious and friendly. The breakfast was superb, especially the pastries which were all made on-site. Erice is a delightful place to explore and has a fascinating history and excellent restaurants. We plan to come again and stay longer. We parked at the base of the town and walked up. I believe there may be public parking at the north end of town near an old Carmelite convent. This might be the better place to park.
The family including grandparents and little children were very charming and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Hotel was warm as the weather was very cold for May. Good restaurants nearby.
The hotel owners were fabulous. They did everything to make me feel at home. Their information was more reliable than that of the tourist office. The hotel was extremely comfortable and a few steps from the main square. I understand why it is rated the top hotel in Erice by Trip Advisor. no, I loved everything.
Excellent stay. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. Very clean.
The location was ideal to visit Erice. The rooms were spacious and decorated to a very high spec.
nice view, clean room, excellent bathroom, good breakfast with fresh pastry. Staff not very enthusiastic. Wifi did not work.
Comfortable, friendly and typical Italian.
Rooms are comfortable and very clean, we received fresh towels daily. The staff/owners of the hotel are customer minded. The hotel is perfectly located for a visit to Enrice and Tranpani (airport) is close as well, but do hire a car when you visit this hotel. The town (Valderice) where the hotel is located is very small with not much to offer.
Quite location, clean, nice view, friendly staff, children enjoy in showers facilities.....
The staff were excellent and it was a lovely run family hotel, and they could not do enough for us. On your website it did say that the hotel had a restaurant, however it does not and unfortunately there is not restaurants nearby
Very nice host and hostess Very good dinner excellent wine Nice and clean room and bathroom Calm and fiendly
Recently built family hotel, good price-quality ratio, quiet, extremely clean, very good starting location for visiting the most important turistic sites in the region of Trapani, free car parking, pretty easy to reach by car. Breakfast: the hotel has positively reacted to previous critics as we had lots of fresh fruit, juices, jogurt, freshly baked cakes/buiscuits and tipical sicilian sweets Probably not suitable if you use public transportation, instead of own car or bike. Hotel restaurant not open yet (but they are going to offer half board soon and other restuarants are within walking distance).
The staff was very helpful and went out of there way to assist me in leaving at 4:00 am to get to a very early morning flight. Outstanding value for travelers. It's location. From the advertisement on Booking.Com I believed it to be much closer to the ocean than it was....you can't even see it from there unless you are on the roof. Definately not the place to stay if you don't have your own vehicle.
The kindness of the hole staff. They were very kind and gentle.Hope that some day they'll come and enjoy the beutifull Malta and the islands and the hospitality of the Maltese Islands.
The hotel seems to have been renewed recently: an elevator avoids frim having to carry luggage using the stairs. Everything was clean. Breakfast could be more elaborate. Nice view on the seaside from the breakfast room and from the second floor balcony. Some rooms may have a seaside view (mine did not) and you may ask for one with a seaside view but may also be exposed to more traffic noise. Not really.
Good location to explore the North-West of Sicily. The staff were friendly, and accommodated our change in plans mid-stay. We felt the rooms were a little basic. The small town the hotel is in does not have a lot going for it, you will need a car. The claim of room service did not seem to be available.
Excellent value. Location was at one end of a fashionable shopping street and very close to the Metro so very convenient. Room was large and clean. Staff helpful and spoke good English which was useful. Nothing
The situation was right in the centre of a town with atmosphere. The staff had excellent English. The views were beautiful. Diffiucult to access by car.
Restaurant was attractive. Manager (owner?) was officious and particularly formal and unpleasant when we said we were canceling second night. Room was small and dark. Lighting was terrible and we had to move a lamp from the dresser to the night table to be able to read at all.
it was in a great location, was quite adequate, and had a decent restaurant.
Great location for Erice Breakfast was poor
The location in the town was convenient to local transport and the sights. The decor of my room was tired and dated. It looked like a college dormitory. The entire hotel is in general need of an interior facelift and some new bedroom furniture with some style.
Clean basic room, elevator made luggage transport easy, bed an pillows quite comfortable.
Beautiful view of the area
Hotel very well located to explore nw sicily. Rooms clean++ facilities excellent! Staff had limited english. Details of local highlights only provided in italian. Would have appreciated someone to discuss local area with.
swimming ; restaurant ; views disappointing breakfast options & quality of fruit
the staff were very friendly we ate there one night and the food was excellent even though we strayed off the normal menu and asked for different dishes.
Unique propoerty with historical significance in the area. A little off the beaten path but close enough to eeverything to remain feeling 'connected' to the area. To get the most out of this property a car is a must. Pool lanes were unnecessary and spoilt the look of the pool area.
This hotel is immaculately clean. Has superb views and sits on a beautiful site surrounded by a lovely garden. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are good size and very clean. The atmosphere is tranquil and restful. The pool area is set out with private little spaces not one big open plan area like most pools in hotels. Its an idylic location for people who like peace and quiet
value of money no air condition
a nice hotel at a very nice location. The facilities were simple and plain, as to be expected in a three star hotel. The hotel has an overwhelming view from the outside rooms 2000' down to Trapani, you can't have it any better
The great location and amazing view from the room.
Erice location high above trapani was excellent a nice town to walk about and lots to see no a/c so very hot for sleeping in room even being quite high up 1800ft. only got hot water for showers once in three days(weather so hot cool showers were no holiday spoiler)
great location great views single bed a little dorm like
I loved the views from my room. I stayed in a single room with a shared balcony with a georgous view of the surroundings - Very impressive views!! Also Liked the location of the hotel close to the castle! The hotel is very noisy. The room doors are not sound proof. I could hear the phone in reception ringing and every person who comes up the marble tiled/marble stairs/hallways(I was on the second floor and I was at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor.) I met other people in other rooms who also commented the amount of noise in the hotel so not just my room.
This was in our opinion the best hotel in Erice. The view was oustanding best hotel we stayed in while travelling around Sicily.
Wonderful view from the great balcony!!! nice location, loved Erice as a place, free wi-fi in common areas, nice receptionist, good brekfast with great cappucino (that's always good in Italy though:)), clean room and bathroom Water came out of the shower, so the floor-towel became wet. Cold in the bathroom (end of Sep). Very modest (but clean!) rooms - just a bit of decoration would do good, no TV - would have been nice to have but no problem with that, we didn't go there for watching TV...
Occasional fantastic view through the parting clouds. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff.
great view, quite cheap, rooms ok for 2 star level (clean + not too small) the night was quite loud because one could hear other guests through walls and door.
